LIVE FEEDS: Florida GOP Primary Coverage (Open Thread)

UPDATE!

See the candidates primary night speeches HERE. Enjoy!

************************************

I thought it would be a good idea to post as many live sources to today's Florida primary as possible. Especially since many don't have cable access to some of these networks. Most networks will be covering the primary throughout the day especially after 6 PM EST. Voting places technically close in Florida at 7-8PM EST.

Not all the links below will be covering the primary continuously so you will probably need to click on different ones throughout the day.

I am also hoping to have Fox News or CNN embedded here as well as an additional source beginning at 6PM EST.

ENJOY!

Mr. Romney looks ready for a big win in Florida, but slips a bit nationally

A week ago, it looked like Mr. Gingrich was trending towards victory in Florida, now it looks like a double digit win for Mr. Romney. In this up and down race nationally, Mr. Gingrich stays rather stable just slipping under the 34% mark while Mr. Romney slips a few point nationally to remain just over the 30% mark. Mr. Santorum almost gains 2 points to sit at 17.3% and Dr. Paul gains over a point to sit at 14.2%. Mr. Gingrich is also rather steady in the delegate count with an 857 elected delegate projection and Mr. Romney slips to 810. Mr. Santorum jumps over the 200 mark at 215 and Dr. Paul climbs slightly to 180. 60 delegates remain uncommitted or other. Note yesterday’s poll number are not including in this analysis due to limited time on my part.

While the last few days of polling show Mr. Romney catching up to Mr. Gingrich nationally, again; it is a bit puzzling why Mr. Gingrich leads at all. After all, Mr. Romney won both Florida debates unlike the South Carolina debates. So it short, at least as of yet, the Florida debates did not move national numbers as much and as fast as the South Carolina debates. However, that could change in the days to come. While the main contest (or dog fight to be a bit more blunt) in between Mr. Romney and Mr. Gingrich, ever since Christmas, there has been a minor dog fight below the radar between Mr. Santorum and Dr. Paul. Last week, radio pundit started to mention this contest below the radar and both non-charismatic candidates were able to at least throw some punches. While it does not matter who comes in third place, the trick for both Mr. Romney and Mr. Gingrich is to either snag Santorum/Paul voters or make the other guy lose a bit of support to the other guy. If the national contest does stay close, it will be interesting and important as to how the Santorum/Paul voters affect the overall contest eventually. No doubt Mr. Romney’s win today will give him some momentum, but how much and how long will it last? I have to agree with Ras this contest will not be over soon, although, Mr. Romney will regain the advantage after tonight.

Is It Hypocrisy If You Don't Try To Hide The Double Standard?

I am trying to figure out if Newt really is a hypocrite. His two decade long support for a federal individual mandate is well known. It was well-known before he got in the race. It was already well-known when two videos surfaced of him praising Romneycare. It was already well-known when he defended it on Meet The Press early in his campaign. And now we have a video of Gingrich (down below), once again, defending the individual mandate in May 2009 a few brief months before it became socialism. Gingrich has to assume that everyone knows he is full of crap when he pretends like he thinks Obamacare and Romneycare are awful, no?

What Gingrich offers is more important to conservatives than consistency: Gingrich offers rhetoric. Yes, it is rhetoric that doesn't match anything that he currently believes, but it is angry and intense. The logic is not hard to follow.  There really are only two explanations for why some in the Republican base think Gingrich is the more conservative option: either they are too stupid to realize that Gingrich contradicts everything that he says or they know and they don't care because his rhetoric channels their irrational anger. If Gingrich really is trying to deceive conservative voters it is only because he believes they represent the first option. And if that is the case, it really shows the great contempt that Gingrich has for his base of supporters as well as the chronic misinformation that the conservative media complex has bestowed upon their audience.

As misinformed as the base may be about so many issues, I have a hard time believing that there are great swaths of Gingrich voters out there who really are in the dark about Gingrich's love for "must carry" health insurance. The more likely explanation is that they simply don't care. As long as Gingrich gives The Others (read establishment, media, Romney, Obama, Democrats, intellectuals, empirical evidence) the what for, the angry mob will continue to overlook his blatant double standards. They feed off of rhetoric, because rhetoric in their minds is the essence of conservatism. Coincidentally, rhetoric also is the essence of talk radio, but never mind that.

So, no, Newt Gingrich may not be a hypocrite because he is not really trying to deceive anybody. He and his supporters know full well what they want.

In a related story, one of the reasons why Gingrich likes Romneycare so much is because it has been largely successful as this new research shows.

USA Today Desperately Tries To Downplay Romney - Obama Poll

I thought the Gingrich Campaign and bloggers like Right Wing Nut were desperate, but Susan Page of USA Today takes the cake for furiously trying to downplay the latest Swing States Poll results of head-to-head matchups of President Obama against GOP contenders Mitt Romney, Newt Ginrich, Ron Paul and Rick Santorum.

In her headline, Ms Page claims Obama and Romney are tied, while Gingrish trails. Then in the lead paragraph, Ms. Page writes:

"Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney essentially ties Barack Obama in the nation's top dozen battlegrounds, a USA TODAY/Gallup Swing States survey finds, while rival Newt Gingrich now trails the president by a decisive 14 percentage points."

(Emphasis mine, and you will soon see why.)

Finally in paragraph 4, we to the numbers of the Obama-Romney match-up, which Ms. Page describes thusly....

"In a head-to-head race, Romney leads Obama by a statistically insignificant percentage point, 48%-47%, the survey finds. Romney's support hasn't wavered from his standing in early December, while Obama's standing against him has risen by four percentage points."

I don't know about you, but in a contest, when one enity leads or beats another, even by one point, it's classified as LEADING, Leads or better yet BEATS.

For those of you unfamiliar with the Swing State Poll, it is a survey of voters across 11 battleground or swing states, which have been identified as historically being those which have decided many past Presidential elections. USA Today polls these states periodically, as does the Purple Poll. I find the Purple Poll more reflective, due to the fact they actually poll each state in the Battleground classification.

In any event, it struck me as prematurely desperate of Ms. Page to try and downplay so heavy-handedly, Gov. Romney's "insignificant" percentage point victory. But maybe they are really worried about Romney natural appeal to Independents, a voter base which has soured on Obama.

Stay Tuned.

New Winning Our Future Ad: Mitt's Blood Money

I don't know if there's any truth to the following, but the video is very compelling. I suspect we'll hear much more on this in the days to come.

I wasn't planning on posting this, but since so many MittHeads insist on cheap shots on anyone who doesn't kiss Romney's backside, here you go....

From Winning Our Future's website:
Debating in Tampa, Florida in late-January, while falsely characterizing Newt Gingrich’s income from his government consulting work, Mitt Romney denied that Bain did “any work with the government like Medicaid and Medicare”. Now we learn that Bain, under Romney’s “supervision”, purchased and ran the Damon Corporation, who pled guilty to Federal conspiracy charges as a result of tens of millions of dollars in systemic Medicare fraud committed under Romney’s and Bain’s control. Damon was fined over $119-million which was, at the time, the largest criminal healthcare fine in Massachusetts history and Mr. Romney’s participation was characterized in 1996 by Corporate Crime Reporter thusly: “As manager and board member of Damon Corp, Mitt Romney sits at the center of one of the top 15 corporate crimes of the 1990’s.” Watch the substantiated mini-documentary, BLOOD MONEY: MITT ROMNEY’S MEDICARE SCANDAL, to learn the truth about Mitt Romney.

Politics of Desperation

In past contest Newt Gingrich has labeled Mitt Romney a "Massachusetts Moderate". Today Mr. Gingrich upped the intensity of the attack calling the former govenor a "Massachusetts Liberal". As the former house speaker's prospects begin to shrink in Florida and the relevancy of his campaign seems to be called into question he has criticized the character of the front runner and indicated that he is simply too "dishonest" to be president. This ironically coming from the only sitting Speaker of the House to be found guilty by his peers of ethics violations. This is only the newest attack from the Gingrich campaign that seems to be below the belt and increasingly infantile.

When providence works against the former speaker he bemoans the "republican elite", the "media elite", the "old guard", etc. The one figure Mr. Gingrich does not lay blame on is his own performance in the primary. After a dismal debate performance he doesn't lick his wounds and prepare for the next contest like other candidates but dwells on the defeat and levels charges of a "stacked" audiences and other similar excuses for the reason behind the upset. This demonstrates poor sportsmanship and juvenile serial whining. Nothing new from the man that shut down government over the seating arrangements on Air Force One while in route to the funeral of Yitzhak Rabin.

I don't think the Romney campaign has addressed these grievances and I don't think they will. These attacks will only hurt the former speaker. America does not smile on a poor sport. We like to win and the only thing we dislike more than a looser is a poor one. Over the next several weeks the race will get even more nasty on all sides but we have to remember that we need to come back together as conservatives to defeat President Obama and the democrats no matter who the nominee turns out to be.

Newt Gingrich say's he's running his campaign on people power...Doesn't he mean, PERSON POWER?

Newt Gingrich had the nerve to question Mitt Romney's many financial backers by stating that He (Gingrich) was running a people's campaign.
Newt Gingrich arrived 55 minutes late to a sparsely attended event in Orlando, then dropped a planned town hall format after less than 7 minutes of remarks to mingle and pose for pictures.

“My competitor on Tuesday has money power,” Gingrich said, explaining why he was changing the format of the event.

“There’s no question he can raise more money from Wall Street than I can. And he has big institutions pouring money in here. What I want to do is have people power. So I want to chat with each one of you personally.and ask each of you to go out on Facebook and on You tube and on Twitter and email, even by telephone and talk to people face to face.” (emphasis mine)
When I read that statement, I went into a laughing convulsion. I think what Newt probably meant to say was that his campaign was based on "Person Power", in the form of Sheldon Adelson, not people power.

Perhaps Palin Is Right About the Media and the Establishment

Sarah Palin has rolled out another Facebook post. She very succinctly gets to the heart and soul of the Tea Party movement: hatred of the media, the establishment, and any other non-Tea Party group. The Newt-Palin wing of the party long ago gave up the allusion that they somehow are even slightly concerned about actual policy and governance. For these folks, conservatism is identity politics. It's always us versus them.

Andrew Sullivan agrees.
Palin's Facebook screed is a classic of the backlash genre. For her, all mainstream media is the same - which means Brian Ross and National Review are now in cahoots. And she is trying to reframe the race as one between the Tea Party base and the Republican Establishment. Somehow, a former Speaker who called the Ryan plan "right-wing social engineering" and pioneered the individual healthcare mandate is now the Tea Party insurgent. But this was never about issues; it was about identity and class. And that's what makes it so dangerous for the GOP.
Actually Palin is hitting on something here about the establishment. Perahps Romney fans need to take in the lesson.

The problem in the Republican Party is that we have had a media (including Palin) that makes money off of misinforming its viewers and an establishment that has been afraid to stand up to them. Now that Gingrich has risen in the polls, the establishment is trying to reverse its timidity and put the genie back in the bottle. Palin and the rest of the Talk Radio Complex have too much at stake to allow the establishment to win which is why Palin is speaking up now. Nevertheless, if the establishment ever wants to lead a reality-based political movement, then it will need to stand up to the Talk Radio Complex a lot more often a lot sooner.

I have been anti-Conservative media from day one. As I write this, I am listening to Fox News unashamedly refer to "Obama's socialist agenda" and his "tax increases." That is an egregious lie.

You can't enjoy the red meat for three years and then all of a sudden stand against it when it is inconvenient. Rombots, I hope you guys learn this lesson.

Newtlear Gingrich and GOP Toxicity

The GOP has a real problem. A toxic problem that poisons Republicans. His name is Newtlear Gingrich. Having been thoroughly trounced by Mitt Romney in the last Florida debates, Newt Gingrich has showed the electorate just how small he really is by accusing the former Massachusetts Governor in typical Gingrich hyperbole of "the most blatantly dishonest performance by a presidential candidate I've ever seen". He went on twisting facts by suggesting that the Mitt Romney campaign stacked the audience with Romney supporters to which the Florida GOP has refuted completely. Remember this is the same Newt Gingrich who threatened to boycott the last debate if the audience was not allowed to express itself citing freedom of speech. Apparently, Newt Gingrich only believes in freedom of speech when they are cheering for him and jeering at his opponents. Classic demagoguery!
As the polls show a strong Romney surge in Florida, Newt has gone critical and the nuclear meltdown that the GOP has been predicting is upon us once more. This is Newton's second atomic meltdown within the last month and his third in this campaign cycle. The first occurred this summer when, while in the middle of a campaign, Newt inexplicably took off with wife number three for a pleasure cruise to the Mediterranean. By the time he returned his disillusioned campaign staff had abandoned him for more disciplined candidates. The GOP thought that would send the rotund Napoleon packing for home and his lucrative lobbying firm. We were wrong. Meltdown number two occurred after going from the front runner to the back of the pack in Iowa and New Hampshire. Blaming the new front runner (Mitt Romney) for his implosion, Mr. Gingrich sunk his fangs into the "inevitable" Romney and his slanderous, venomous attacks combined with his demagogic debate performances turned the tides in South Carolina just long enough for them to rally behind the new populist anti-capitalist Newt Gingrich. Now just a mere eight days after his landslide victory in the Palmetto state we are seeing his numbers again fall through the floor after a series of gaffes, poor debates, and new revelations.

State of Polarization

Using the State of the Union address to make yet another re-election speech President Obama put his campaign on center stage. We were given no list of accomplishments or vision of the future. According to the President America is stronger than ever. According to the President we are respected overseas, recovered economically, fiscally sound and anyone who says different "doesn't know what they are talking about." Like Newt Gingrich in the Republican primary President Obama hopes that by making a false statement again and again it might become true or at least believed.

President Obama then decided to discuss "fairness", a term that Newt Gingrich has been shamefully throwing around the GOP primary as well. President Obama and Newt Gingrich want America to become more "fair". This is a very loaded term. The GOP believes that the playing field should be level. We believe that the government should not give a leg up or head start to anyone. That goes against our proud tradition of competition, equal opportunity, and free markets.

What Democrats and Newt Gingrich are actually saying is that they support a very base and populist idea of fair. They want there to be a fairness in outcomes i.e. incomes. According to their definition of "fair" we are entitled to have what we need and anything above that we should funnel back to the government so they can decide where to invest and often times squander our money. They believe that they are better suited to allocate the wealth of Bill and Malinda Gates who just this week alone committed $650 million dollars on top of their already donated $750 million dollars to fight curable diseases. The GOP believes that The Bill and Malinda Gates Foundation is a force for good and that these two savvy investors and dedicated philanthropist will do ten times the good directing their own money than congress could do with twice the amount.

Gingrich team complains Romney's cheering section was bigger than ours

Sarah Palin defends Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul

Today on Fox News, Former Governor Sarah Palin defended Newt Gingrich against coordinated attacks by the GOP establishment and underscores Ron Paul's fight to cut spending.

"On the domestic front he (Ron Paul) is the only one who has been so adamantly passionate about doing something about the suffocating debt, about doing something about reining in government growth and actually slashing budgets - $1 trillion a year, he’s been specific about until we get our hands around this. I respect that, I appreciate it."

"Look at Newt Gingrich, what's going on with him via the establishment's attacks. They are trying to crucify this man and rewrite history, rewrite what it is that he has stood for all these years.

So it's not just Ron Paul, I believe it's also Newt Gingrich that the establishment, liberal media, certainly, that the progressives and the Democrats don't like."

NRO's Elliot Abrams Caught in Distortion about Newt Gingrich

Another courageous person comes out of the woodwork to defend Newt Gingrich against the lies and distortions being coordinated by the Romney campaign. Today in the American Spectator, Jeffrey Lord writes about Chris Scheve who made a valiant effort to retrieve the original transcript of Gingrich’s entire 1986 Special Order speech. We once again find the attack against Gingrich to be false.
* That's right. Mr. Scheve, incensed at what he felt was a deliberate misrepresentation of his old boss by Abrams and the Romney forces, specifically of Gingrich's long ago March 21, 1986 "Special Order" speech on the floor of the House, and aware "that most of his [Abrams'] comments had to have been selectively taken from the special order" -- Scheve started digging. Since the Congressional Record for 1986 was difficult to obtain electronically, Scheve trekked to the George Mason Library to physically track down the March 21, 1986 edition of the Congressional Record. Locating it, copying and scanning, he was kind enough to send to me.

* "But in apparent service to the Romney campaign, in order to make Newt Gingrich appear to be doing just that, Abrams apparently quite deliberately cut out the original Gingrich reference to Will, Kirkpatrick, Krauthammer, and Kristol.

* The main point is that the Newt Gingrich who spoke on the floor of the House on March 21, 1986, was thoroughly pro-Reagan, honestly engaging in a serious intellectual effort to assess the strengths and weaknesses of American foreign policy in the day from a hierarchy of vision, strategy, operations or projects and then last but not least, tactics.

In grossly misrepresenting this speech as some sort of anti-Reagan jihad, Elliott Abrams has ironically only called attention to Governor Romney's lack of strengths and experience in this area."

Obama Administration’s Mandated Free Birth Control Leads America Closer to Loss of Religious Liberty

First Americans were told that there would be no taxpayer funding of abortion in Obamacare. But we see how it materialized through different channels anyway. Now Obamacare is paying for free birth control for all. Not just birth control pills and sterilization procedures, but the emergency morning after pill that is an abortion drug.

The Obama Administration through HHS has ordered that all employers must provide free birth control and sterilization to its employees. While there is an exemption clause for religious organizations such as churches, synagogues, and mosques, there is not an exemption for non-profits such as colleges, hospitals, and other social service organizations. All employees, whether you agree with the birth control pill or not, must pay into this healthcare plan. No exceptions. So Catholics who use and promote natural family planning must pay premiums that include coverage for birth control even though it goes against their faith tradition.

Religious organizations have one year to think over the new mandate before they must comply. If they choose to ignore the mandate, than they will be in violation and either pay a fine or cease to extend coverage to their employees. HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said in a statement: “I believe this proposal strikes the appropriate balance between respecting religious freedom and increasing access to important preventive services.” So according to Sebelius, shoving this mandate down the throats of religious organizations but giving them one year to swallow is considered respectful and balanced?

Lawsuits are already under way as the Becket Fund has taken the case. At stake is the issue of whether or not the federal government has the right to force religious organizations to fund healthcare plans that violate the dictates of their faith:
Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, North Carolina, and Colorado Christian University in Lakewood, Colorado sued the government in federal court to overturn the requirement, arguing that it violates their First Amendment rights and a law protecting exercise of religion.

“This is not really about access to contraception. The mandate is about forcing these religious groups to pay for it against their beliefs.”said Hannah Smith, senior counsel at the Becket Fund, a nonprofit law firm in Washington representing both schools.

Will this go to the Supreme Court like the mandate itself in Obamacare? Afterall, if we need the Supreme Court to determine if mandated commerce is constitutional, than surely mandating birth control in that very same healthcare system should also be decided.

As someone who believes that abortion can be reduced by using better, more reliable methods of birth control, I am against the government dictating that all healthcare plans must hand it out for free. This violates the conscience clause for religious Americans. They should not have to pay premiums in a healthcare system that funds birth control pills. This move by the Obama Administration leads us another step closer to the loss of religious liberty in America.

Top Romney Advisor Says ObamaCare Won't Be Repealed In It's Entirety

Rumor has it that former Minnesota Senator, Norm Coleman is on the short list for a cabinet position in a potential Romney administration (perhaps even at HHS). This is an example of why my state is now represented by Al Franken in the U.S. Senate. I know several conservatives who couldn't hold their nose and vote for Coleman in 2008.
Mitt Romney adviser Norm Coleman, a former senator from Minnesota, predicted the GOP won’t repeal the Democrats’ healthcare reform law even if a Republican candidate defeats President Obama this November.

“You will not repeal the act in its entirety, but you will see major changes, particularly if there is a Republican president,” Coleman told BioCentury This Week television in an interview that aired on Sunday. “You can’t whole-cloth throw it out. But you can substantially change what’s been done.”

Speaking the Language of the Ghettos

There was much concern about Romney's spanish radio ad making a dig at Gingrich's use of the phrase "language of the ghetto." CNN fact checked it during the debate, but they didn't complete the fact checking. Obviously this warrants further investigation and several articles were quick to point out what is going on.

Here is the back and forth at the debate:

First, I want to state how disappointed I am that Romney does not, in fact, approve the ad spots that he says he approves. But I suspect he is not alone in this. All of the politicians will record that sound bite once and it gets tagged onto the end of all their commercials. So, it's a wash... He does it, they all do it, what are you going to do about it.

Back to the topic at hand. Here is the radio spot in question:

The translation of the part in question is: "And Reagan definitely would have never offended us, Hispanics, as Gingrich did by saying that Spanish is the language of the ghetto." (H/T Race42012)

Did Gingrich say "Spanish is the language of the ghettos"? No, what he did say was "We should replace bilingual education with immersion in English so people learn the common language of the country so that they learn the language of prosperity, not the language of the ghetto." (emphasis added, transcribed from video) This was in 2007.

The candidates will meet on stage at 8 p.m. EST in Jacksonville, Florida.

Romney Resorts to Class Warfare In Florida

Is Romney trying to win over the 'Occupy Wall Street' crowd? Saul Alinsky would be proud. If I recall, Jon Huntsman was mocked for saying something similar in one of the debates.
"I want to do that not because I'm worried about the one percent. The 1 percent's doing fine. I want to help the 99 percent.

Newt the Nymph

Newt Gingrich takes a below the belt swipe at Mitt Romney and wholesomeness in a desperate attempt to slow the Romney momentum in Florida. Newt Gingrich exposed the depths of his depravity and his lack of comprehension of conservative republican values as he suggest his infidelities make him more of an average Joe than a candidate that has remained faithful to one wife. If that were true Gingrich would be the most average Joe in America racking up an impressive three marriages and two divorces. According to Gingrich, infidelity is the norm and fidelity is at best abnormal. Perhaps that is true about his morally bankrupt Washington insider friends but fidelity is still the ideal in America and certainly in conservative circles. Not only does Newt suggest that he has a better understanding of peoples hardships because of his numerous sexual liaisons and extramarital affairs but goes further to suggest it is a qualifier for the White House and adds depth to his understanding of the "human condition." If we follow the former Speakers logic we should elect the candidate with the most baggage. We should elect someone who has succumbed to all the temptations that confront the electorate. So let's add to Gingrich's qualifications list for the presidency of the United States some of the classic temptations such as tax fraud, drug addiction, insider trading, pornography, gluttony, alcoholism, personal debt, tobacco, bankruptcy, and let's not forget serial gambling. If only we had a candidate with all of those problems to add depth to his understanding of the human condition!

When commenting about his numerous infidelities the ever changing political chameleon had this to say;

"So, I think in that sense, it may make me more normal than somebody who wanders around seeming perfect and maybe not understanding the human condition and the challenges of life for normal people."

Obviously Newt Gingrich has crossed the line yet again. In his statement he also implies that Mitt Romney is not tempted like he is. It does not even enter the mind of this egotistical behemoth that Romney faced the same trials (probably worse being rich, powerful, and fit) but overcame them with determination and continues to overcome adding strength and resilience to his character. He suggest that Romney is "perfect", a phrase Romney has never used. Unlike Gingrich, Romney is a humble man and has demonstrated strength and character in governing his own passions and Newt would have us believe that this is chink in Romney's armor. In an atmosphere where Gingrich's fellow candidates have graciously given him a pass on his home wrecking ways, Gingrich has decided to make it a theme in his already aimless campaign. Candidates now have the green light to attack. Go!
To Newt Gingrich the GOP says this. The normal people as you call us want leadership. The normal people want role models. The normal people want strength and character. The normal people want family values. The normal people want true republican. Normal people want to win agains Barak Obama. We don't want another Nixon. We don't want another Clinton. And we will never allow a Newt Gingrich. Remember that South Carolina forced us into an un-winnable war once. Let's not let them drag us into another un-winnable war. Keep our GOP safe from nymphs, lechers, and home wreckers.

Update:The GOP will forgive anyone their past indiscretions but when a candidate says his indiscretions make him a better candidate over ones that have lived more nobly, that goes too far. Celebrating immorality is not a conservative value.

Newt's Honest Campaign

Nobody does self-righteous hypocrisy like Newt Gingrich.

Today.
Newt on Mitt: "How can somebody run a campaign this dishonest and think he's going to have any credibility running for president?"
Yesterday.
"Tonight, after persistent questioning by our staff, the Gingrich campaign concedes now Speaker Gingrich was wrong — both in his debate answer, and in our interview yesterday," King said on tonight's edition of John King USA. "Gingrich spokesman R.C. Hammond says the only people the Gingrich campaign offered to ABC were his two daughters from his first marriage."
During the debate and in an interview yesterday, Newt Gingrich literally made up out of thin air a story that his friends had contacted ABC news to vouch for Newt regarding the open marriage fiasco.

Reagan Turned the Conservative Torch Over to Gingrich

"There is something truly obscene about the full blown assault on Newt Gingrich’s strong Reagan conservative history from and on behalf of Mitt Romney, who unabashedly ran away from the Reagan legacy and conservative principles in his 1994 Senate campaign and 2002 gubernatorial campaign. Truly obscene."

That’s how William Jacobson begins his article titled: Nancy Reagan 1995: Ronnie turned that torch over to Newt. No mincing of words. Direct and to the point. Jacobson states that the smears on Gingrich have been a shameless sea of lies helped in part by Drudge in an effort to help a desperate Romney.

To set the record straight Jacobson presents a video clip of Nancy Reagan at the 1995 Goldwater dinner. Nancy tells the dinner attendees how Ronald Reagan passed the conservative torch on to Newt Gingrich. Not Mitt Romney who a year earlier had stated in his MA senate race debate that he “was an Independent during the time of Reagan-Bush.”

We have another person coming out of the woodwork to clear Newt’s name. And again, someone with video evidence and courage to set the record straight.

The Demagogue Revealed and Threatens!

Newt Gingrich exposed his demagoguery self this week on Good Morning America when he threatened to skip the debates if his mob is not allowed to disrupt and throw their verbal eggs at the candidates. This is a total admission that he is indeed a demagogue practicing in demagoguery. His meteoric rise in the polls is due to a very vocal mob that he has whipped into a frenzy with his unabashed dishonest rhetoric and red meat. Monday night he continued to spread inaccuracies and falsehoods and without his mob to reinforce his nonsensical angry argument he fell flat like a bad joke. In the past he used his populist attacks to distract viewers from his outlandish arguments and false accusations to the roar of the mob crowd. Like a good fascist he embraced their chief motto, "the bigger the lie, the more it will be believed."

The GOP Monday night was spared the intrusiveness of a overly vocal minority and overbearing mob and Gingrich was laughable as he gesticulated in anger over the facts of his career in Washington as a politician and later in Washington as a bought and paid for lobbyist. He would like everyone to own their past but he is asking the GOP to kick his tires and buy his car. He released a one year 300k dollar contract with Freddie but won't release the original contracts estimated at over 1.6 million. He released one year of taxes but has yet to release more all the while demanding it from other candidates. He won't release the papers from the congressional ethics investigation in which he was the only Speaker of the House to be censored while in office and fined 300k dollars in ethics violations. He asks the GOP to check the front bumper of the car and ensures us that the rest of the vehicle is tip top but shouts, "don't look in the trunk!" Only a egotistical megalomaniac could rationalize that. He lacks judgment, sobriety, ethics, morality, constancy, sanity and is 100% unelectable as a national candidate for the highest office.
