Great News...I hope Romney holds Newt's feet to the fire this evening regarding Newt's many lies.

I also hope Romney defends his wealth, his success and the beauty of the free market system with gusto.

He needs to directly contrast with details the Gingrich record of influence pedaling and anti-capitalist rhetoric with his pro-free market and merit based platform.

He also needs to emphasize the whole Keystone issue and Obama's job and energy record.

I hope there aren't any mobs at tonight's debates.

From Lionhead's article

"Rick Santorum is Mike Huckabee. Newt Gingrich is John McCain."

Stopped reading at that point. Huckabee and McCain as candidates were light years above Santorum and Gingrihch

Teemu..I absolutely agree.

So, why can't true conservatives come up with candidates? They complain a lot, but they do not seem to do a very good job of producing viable and sane alternatives?

Tonight is a huge moment in the campaign. I hope someone in the highest echelons of Team Romney have been following this blog. Romney can play to the crowd better than Newt because he has the moral high ground and the economic credentials. I hope he turns the mob on Newt tonight and ends this race once and for all in Florida.

I saw a comment by a poll watcher that weekend polls are usually not a very good measure. The ones that had Newt up by so much were definitely weekend polls. The Monday debate where Newt did not do well--without his audience, it seems--didn't help him, either.

It looks like Newt HAS had a bounce from South Carolina, but it probably isn't as large as it seemed. The media wants the primaries to be a terrible dogfight, but GOP voters may not be so excited about that. Still, I won't count on anything until the votes are in and counted--maybe certified, considering Iowa. LOL!
