"If George Bush runs as a continuation of Reaganism I think he'll lose"
Go to the 0:45 mark to watch Newt.
This has already made the rounds in the chat box and comments of other threads, but I think it is worth making a blog out of this issue so that it doesn't just disappear....in 2010, the Gingrich corporations paid out $444, 327 as salary to Newt and Callista while reporting some $2.4 million as profit or dividends – thus allowing the Gingrichs to avoid paying the 2.9 percent Medicare tax on the bulk of their earnings.
Of course, now that Gingrich is running for president, it is unlikely the IRS will come after him as he would simply call it an attack by the Obama administration.
Boy did the right wing talking heads bang on about the tax cheating ways of Daschle and Geithner, but we can expect them to carry water for Gingrich on this issue as well. Apparently the True Conservatives (c) only get upset when it is a democrat who cheats on his wife or his taxes.

Lest we forget. In the case of Ohio Joe that is no worry, he can never forget NY-23. But for the rest of us who have moved on with our lives let us refresh the details of that race.
Now, in 2012, the Palins have endorsed, either explicitly or implicitly, Newt Gingrich. Two degrees of separation between Palin and Scozzafava. Rich in irony, impoverished in integrity.
From CBS News:Fox news analyst Sarah Palin said criticism of Mitt Romney's record as the head of Bain Capital by fellow Republicans is fair and the front-runner should provide proof to his clams that his tenure there helped created 100,000 jobs.
"Sometimes it gets rough and tumble as you try to hold these candidates accountable for what they are claiming," Palin said in an interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News Channel Wednesday.
Asked about attacks from Texas Gov. Rick Perry that Romney is a "vulture capitalist," the former Alaska governor said Perry is just holding his rival accountable.
"This isn't about a politician making huge profits in the private sector," Palin said, adding "I think what Governor Perry is getting at is that Governor Romney has claimed to have created 100,000 jobs at Bain and people are wanting to know is there proof of that claim?"
And in typical Romnot fashion Palin tells us that the OWS RINOs are really helping Romney by vetting him on this issue before Obama can.
Influential talk radio host Steve Deace has endorsed Newt Gingrich for 2012.Sadly, there are only two candidates offering a real means by which to actually undo that which the Left has done to this country for the past 50 years, and not just conservative platitudes. One of those candidates is Ron Paul, but his foreign policy is naive at best and reckless at worst. The other is Newt Gingrich, who has campaigned on what I believe is the most important issue facing us as a people—the loss of the rule of law.
The Left has used unelected judges and judicial oligarchy to reinvent the American way of life, from secularism to the loss of the sanctity of life, to the redefining of marriage, the confiscation of private property, and the granting of imaginary rights. There is an entire chapter of my new book devoted to the need for conservatives and Christians to confront judicial oligarchy once and for all. I have spent the past two years of my radio program educating my audience on this issue, and was a vocal proponent of Iowa’s historic judicial retention election last year, and Newt’s assistance with that effort was vital.
We are on the brink of something momentous, wonderful, and even sublime, something that would remake politics in America. An event that is terrifying to many, but electrifying to many others. In just eight days Iowa voters will caucus, and if recent polls can be trusted, likely give Ron Paul the win. Count me in the group that would be electrified by a Paul win in Iowa.First, we have a spending problem in Washington, D.C., not a revenue problem. The Commission claims their goal is to reduce the deficits by $4 trillion over the next decade. The task force says its plan would save $6 trillion by 2020. It’s sort of like dueling promises that would never happen, because when has a proposed cut in Washington D.C. ever produced the intended savings over 10 years? Never!
Even worse is reason number two: In every country that has established a VAT with the promise of reducing its national debt, the VAT has eventually gone up or expanded on top of the existing tax structure. After discovering many of the tax grenades in the recently passed health care deform bill, which is already driving costs up and access down, it would be real easy for an overzealous bureaucrat to insert the language in the legislation “national retail and wholesale” tax.
For the liberal naysayers who say that would not happen, you lose! Just look at the Social Security system, Medicare and Medicaid. Over the years since their inception, taxes have gone up, benefits have gone down and they are still on a path of insolvency.
A national retail sales tax on top of all the confusing and unfair taxes we have today is insane! it gives the out-of-control bureaucrats and politicians in denial one more tool to lie, deceive, manipulate and destroy this country.
A reconciliation instruction (Budget Reconciliation) is a provision in a budget resolution directing one or more committees to submit legislation changing existing law in order to bring spending, revenues, or the debt-limit into conformity with the budget resolution. The instructions specify the committees to which they apply, indicate the appropriate dollar changes to be achieved, and usually provide a deadline by which the legislation is to be reported or submitted.
To raise revenue to fund the Civil War, Congress introduced the income tax through the Revenue Act of 1861.[3] It levied a flat tax of 3% on annual income above $800, which was equivalent to $19,490 in today's money.[4] This act was replaced the following year with the Revenue Act of 1862, which levied a graduated tax of 3–5% on income above $600 (worth $13,156 today[4]) and specified a termination of income taxation in 1866.
On June 16, 1909, President William Howard Taft, in an address to Congress, proposed a 2% federal income tax on corporations by way of an excise tax and a constitutional amendment to allow the previously enacted income tax.
In the debate last night Huntsman said about civil unions, "I think this nation can do a better job when it comes to equality.” But when pressed if his opponents were wrong on civil unions he responded “They are not wrong.” But the flip side of that coin is that Huntsman is not right.
