Two comments- 1). Given Newt's multiple personalities, there is no contradiction between endorsing the people and now Newt. 2). How does the old saying go? "Birds of a feather....."
Birds of a feather is right...I read somewhere that a poll was done that showed that an endorsement from Herman Cain would make a Republican primary voter less likely to vote for the candidate he endorsed.
Cain has a lot of appeal for some of the electorate. I think if you take Newt's endorsements and you had to build a government with those names you would be extremely undermanned and without depth. Contrast that to the coalition of substantive endorsements Mitt Romney has put together and you could build a highly competant government that carries serious weight. I would have liked Cain to support Mitt. I don't think he is qualified to be Secretary of Defense (the position he hopes for) but he has something to offer the country.

Did I read right that when Cain announced his endorsement, instead of applause, there were chuckles?
