New Winning Our Future Ad: Mitt's Blood Money

I don't know if there's any truth to the following, but the video is very compelling. I suspect we'll hear much more on this in the days to come.

I wasn't planning on posting this, but since so many MittHeads insist on cheap shots on anyone who doesn't kiss Romney's backside, here you go....

Bain owned about 8% of this company. The fraud happened before Bain bought it... the first supeonas came the same day that Bain puchased it... so the crimes were committed before... and the investigation was well on it's way.

Mitt Romney totally co-operated with the government to expose the criminals and clean up the company.

NO ONE EVER SAID MITT HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT.

Not even Ted Kennedy... who was the first to find it... Ted Kennedy didn't even try to pretend that Mitt had a thing to do with it... he used it as a smear, but was not as completely unethical as Newt Gingrich.

Teddy Kennedy was more honest than Newt... no surprize.

Gingrich is a complete sleeze bag to use the tacitics of Ted Kennedy and ruin the good name of the very upright and honest man--Mitt Romney.

I hope there is a special place in hell for people like Newt.

Once again the fake conservatives make their attacks from the left. Because Mitt Romney has out flanked them on the right.

There is no one more conservative than Mitt, that is why Newt has to stoop to this.

What Did Romney Know and When?

According to Forbes, when Mitt Romney was hammered with the scandal during his campaign to become the Governor of Massachusetts, he acknowledged that he did have some awareness of the shady dealings going on at Damon.

According to The Deseret News, when his Democratic opponent for the governorship, Shannon O’Brien, accused him of lax oversight at Damon and failing to report the fraud, Romney defended that he had helped uncover the illegal activity at Damon, asking the board’s lawyers to investigate. As a result, he said, the board took corrective action before selling the company in 1993 to Corning Inc.

However, according to the court records, the Damon scheme continued throughout Bain’s ownership, and prosecutors credited Corning, not Romney, with taking corrective action.

According to a Boston Globe report, then Republican gubernatorial candidate Mitt Romney, while insisting that he and fellow board members at Damon Corp. uncovered what was later determined to be a criminal scheme to defraud Medicare in 1993, acknowledged that the directors did not turn over their findings to federal authorities then investigating the medical testing industry.

While the medical testing company went bankrupt, with thousands losing their jobs, Bain Capital captured a $12 million profit— over $450,000 of that money going to Romney personally.

Don't you think if Ted used this case in 94, when Ted almost lost the Senate race to Romney, that this story, if it had legs with its connection to Romney, would have killed Romney's political career and that he would have never had the chance to win the governor's race in 2002??

Romney has been vetted by the vicious Democratic attack machine in 94 and 2002 and these liberal loons could find nothing of substance to bring down Romney. I see Newty is working quite closely with the Democrats in trying to smear Romney...I wonder if this little movie was also produced by another Soros organization like the previous Bain movie??

Personally I think it is great that Romney has had this type of exposure to scorched earth politics, because it has made him tough, and it will make him the better candidate to go up against Obama.

Have you noticed that Romney doesn't whine like Newty when things aren't going his way, like Newty did today on the Sunday shows?
Romney is a leader and Newty is a whiner.

Teemu: The King of Bain movie was crap, so is that most likely, Romney has probably sit in dozens of different boards of directors.

Directors surveyed in North America reported spending 16 hours per month on the work of one board,compared to 9.5 hours spent 20 years ago. So 20 years ago it was 2.3 hours per week. 2007 average 3.9 hours per week.

The work week of Romney's kind of people is 60-80 hours

Do you really think he knows everything about every company in which boards he sits?

First off, I'm not a Gingrich supporter. I'd prefer Santorum, but the math in Florida suggests that only Newt has a shot at beating Romney. Santorums only shot going forward is for Newt to win Florida. If Romney wins, the race is likely over. Santorum should urge his supporters to vote for Newt on Tuesday. Otherwise, his campaign will be effectively over.

RW, I see the Mitt supporters have 'fire stormed' you on this new issue regarding Mitt's character. How are you holding up in your asbestos suit?

Looking at this objectively, since I have no interest in either Mitt or Newt, I think some things are being overlooked. So, Mitt supporters, don't bother to fire storm me, because I don't care what happens to either man. Take the time attacking me & say a prayer for Bella Santorum's recovery.

First, the information regarding this case is all in the public record. The Board of Directors minutes, the Federal Gov't investigation, the records of the transactions including the sales, the quarterly reports, etc. If the documentation establishes misconduct or fraud by any Bain employee, it will reflect back on Romney. Moreover, if it turns out there was a cover up or firewall in place, all the worse for Romney/Bain.

This issue may not sway the FL vote, but there are many states ahead where it could derail the Romney campaign. The optics are terrible with Mitt's connection to Obamacare & Bain Capital.

Missing in the supporter arguements is the fact that the Obama Atty General is in charge & might do something against Bain or Romney successors, although direct action against Romney is unlikely, unless there was deliberate lying to any Federal Officer which would be a criminal, felony offence under 18 USC 1001.

So, Mitt may survive the primaries only to face Obama & have this issue thrown up against him in a much larger way. I'm sure Axelrod, Debbie Wasserman Schultz & Eric Holder will be in the loop on this. The level of corruption in the Federal Gov't includes the judicial system. If TPTB want a prosecution, it will happen. If they don't, no matter how guilty one may be, the offender will walk away. We shall see; the facts may or may not determine the outcome here.

Lionhead: If Bain Capitol is a liability to Mitt's reelection after they've been cleared of this issue already, then the country is lost already and we deserve whatever worse troubles we face in the future.

If we allow a President, or any elected official, to brow-beat and harass a private business when no wrong-doing has occurred or when the apparent wrong doing has been found not to have happened, that is a travesty of Constitution and private citizen rights. (Similar to what Anthony Weiner was trying to do to Goldline and Glenn Beck.)

Machtyn, indeed the state of the rule of law in the US is deteriorating rapidly. I could site you many cases of the Gov't prosecuting people not on facts, but by just 'conspiracy.' The conviction rate of the US Federal Court system is higher than Nazi Germany! Yet, no one complains, no one reports it, it goes unnoticed until someone runs afoul of it.

I've mentioned here before about the Federal Court in NYC. No one seems to care. Well, you might care now if the President charges someone for some crime or 'conspiracy' that is false. The NDAA has been passed & the President has signed the Bill into Law. No habeous corpus, just unlimited detention. Am I the only conservative aware of this? Maybe so, but at least I do know.

As for Bain being 'cleared' you might want to review the statements in the case & follow the links in the report:

There was no prosecution of Bain, but that does not mean they were not involved in the fraudulent scheme. We have & will continue to have, selective Justice in the US. That is Romney's problem running up against Obama this fall. Remember, he took it upon himself to destroy & removing public records in Mass. after his term as Governor was over. Was he following the standard procedure in that matter? No, he pushed the envelope out by doing it in a way that he was above the law. A person can't have things both ways. Either you live & support the rule of law, or subject yourself to the consequences of being above it.

The Board of Directors are supposed to oversee the Management's decisions, regulatory compliance, ethics & salary compensation. That is their fudiciary duty to any partners, stake or shareholders. They are to know & if they fail, then they are responsible. No excuses Teemu. If Romney knew & failed to follow through, then how does that reflect on his business prowess & ethics?

I'm not accusing anyone, I'm reviewing the facts. Everyone here can draw their own conclusions after reviewing the facts. I have not unjustly accused Romney. I have laid out the facts as reported in the public domain beyond the 8 minute video.

If you think these behaviours are fine for a future President, then you can vote for him. As someone that has respect for the rule of law, the Constitution, the principles of free enterprise & a level playing field for all, I do not.

As far as I know, all of those records supposedly destroyed on computers were printed out. MoveOn and others sent guys over to check them out, got bored out of their minds not finding anything of value and went home.

Certainly, the rule of law is getting out-of-hand. A guy locked up for DUI, was in solitary for 2 straight years. He finally got out and was awarded $22 million. That should cover his attorney's fees, psych fees, and doctor's bills for awhile. (The psych is for the PTSD he is suffering... the guy literally went crazy and had to pull his own tooth out. $22 million is not enough, some people should be going to jail for this.)

The issue for us today is well described here, except our enemy is amongst us, the Marxist/Socialists. I stand with the Constitution & the rule of law. Without their protections, all will be lost to us. Choose wisely the man that would serve, protect & defend the Constitution.
