Is Rick Perry Praying for Rain on August 6?

If I were him, I would.
Perry, who set up this event seems to be trying to distance himself from it:
There are just three days to go before Texas Gov. Rick Perry's all-day prayer rally, but Perry is still not sure how he will be involved in the event he envisioned.
"I may be ushering, for all I know," he joked last week.
The governor definitely plans to attend The Response, a seven-hour "Christian prayer gathering" at Houston's Reliant Stadium this Saturday. Beyond that, however, Perry's role is still unclear.
"The governor will be participating," said Eric Bearse, the official spokesman for The Response. "But I'm still waiting to hear if he'll have a specific role." (emphasis mine)
Come on Rick, don't be so humble. Your roll UNCLEAR? Usher? I don't think so.

All that hard work you put into this through your Governor's office. All those invitations you sent to all 50 Governors and only Sam Brownback to show for it. What could they all be doing that's more important than your event? Their state's business? But don't fret. You still have all those religious nut cases in leadership roles to keep you company ( 1, 2, 3). And so what if only 8000 are attending in a stadium that holds over 50,000. Plenty of room to stretch or perhaps throw down a prayer rug. Oops, I forgot, No prayer rugs.

Here is Perry's video that greats everyone on the event's homepage:

So Rick, suck in your gut. This event is yours and good practice for someone who wants to be a successful President. You see, as President, you can't distance yourself, get cold feet, or WALK AWAY, no matter how badly you want to. Unless of course you'll be seeking the Democratic Nomination?

This likely turns more people off to him than on, i mean 8000 in a stadium of 71500? Perrys a joke, but he may still run.

Hey Bos, tell us how you really feel about Perry.

Tickets to the prayer fest in Texas are going as slow as the undefeated flick.

Bosman, Ha ha. I guess Perry miscalculated things in GOP land just a smidge. But then I hear he's not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Honestly, he seems like a nice guy. Just not ready for the big stage, or the big job.

Great Post Bos.

Here's another example of a potential Presidential candidate making decisions without weighing the ramifications of keeping the big picture in mind.

His record is LOADED with these from vaccinations for 12 yr olds to land grabs for a toll road that tax payers in Texas don't want because it would be a money pit.

Sadly enough, he does seem like a nice guy. And a day of prayer is a great thing. But not for the reason he is doing it.
