Biden’s presidency nears a premature end amid dismal polling, economic anxiety, blunders:
This week could effectively spell the end of the Biden presidency.
A poll in the liberal New York Times on Monday showed that nearly two-thirds of Democrats want somebody else, anybody else, besides Mr. Biden to run on the party’s ticket in 2024.
It wasn’t a poll by a conservative-leaning group or reported by a conservative outlet such as Breitbart. It was 64% of Mr. Biden’s party, as told to one of the most liberal news outlets in the U.S.
Hours after that devastating poll was released, the president tried to take a victory lap of sorts on gun control by hosting an invitation-only celebration on the South Lawn of the White House.
What happened? Mr. Biden was heckled by one of his invited guests in what should have been one of the safest, most stage-managed political spaces in America.
The heckler, Manuel Oliver, the father of a student killed in the school shooting in Parkland, Florida, in 2018, stood up and yelled at the president during his speech. He challenged Mr. Biden to take stricter action on gun control.
“You have to do more!” he shouted at the president.
Mr. Biden responded as if he were hoping to push his abysmal approval ratings even lower. He barked at the father of the slain student, who was wearing a photo of his 17-year-old son, Joaquin, on his T-shirt: “Sit down!” --->READ MORE HERE
Most Dems want Biden to step aside for 2024 election: poll
The future looks more and more bleak for President Biden.
Nearly two-thirds of Democratic voters (64%) want the party to pick a different candidate for the 2024 presidential race, while more than three-quarters of Americans (77%) say the country is moving in the wrong direction, according to a New York Times/Siena College poll released on Monday.
Only 13% say that the US is on the right track, the fewest since the depths of the Great Recession more than a decade ago.
As the White House struggles to respond to sky-high inflation, Biden’s job approval rating has fallen to 33%, including just 70% among Democrats.
Biden, the country’s oldest-ever president at 79, has repeatedly said he intends to run for re-election, but Democratic voters are growing less and less enthusiastic about the prospect.
When asked why they would prefer a candidate besides Biden in 2024, 33% cite his age, 32% point to his job performance, 12% say they just prefer someone new, 10% say Biden isn’t progressive enough, and 4% doubt his ability to win re-election. --->READ MORE HERE
