Romney Didn't Think Corporations Were "People" in 2003

What does this guy really believe? He had already been elected governor of Massachusetts, so he can't use that excuse this time.

"There are some, if you will, classical Republicans, and I don't want to be political here. The classical Republican approach is to say you know what makes America so great is our great corporations. And if we just clear the decks so that corporations can be more successful and give them more money, and make it easier for them to succeed. Well, then we will do even better on the world stage. I don't happen to subscribe to that traditional Republican caricature."

Hey, our zany uncle is back. Welcome back Uncle Gumby! I hope that you have a big stash of Kleenex to wipe away your tears as Romney sails to the nomination. Poor Sarah will never have another chance to be president.

Dan,

No comment on the video? Of course not. You're only capable of insulting those who disagree with you, loser.

Right Wingnut said...

By the way, I agree that Romney will be the nominee, but he will not beat Obama.

DanL,

Why don't you answer RW? You ream others when they don't respond to posts. Why don't you just answer him instead of insulting him. What are you going to do next...write another post insinuating that RW should be banned. I don't know what has happened to you lately. You used to be a good guy but now you are just an angry prick.

Do we even know what the topic of the discussion was?

Do we know in what context these comments were made?

Do we know what the remainder of the statement was?
No, of course we don't.

And yet this is trotted out to used as proof that Romney is unfit for office.

RWN - Go back and flesh out this story, if there is one, and post it.

Lay out an argument and a point of view for us to agree or achallenge.

Putting out half baked crap like this, especially after you have been hiding under the couch these past weeks, is not an auspicious comeback.

Is this the full video, RW? If it's taken out of context, I would like to know.

But, other than that, the phrase 'give them more money' stands out to me. What is he talking about? What is the context of this comment?

That would help.

Also, I think we all believe that it is not our corporations that make America great, it is our freedoms guaranteed in the founding documents. That is Romney's message, not that corporations make us great.

So no real catch here, RW. But keep fishing! It's always good for some excitement around here.

RW,

Did you see my comments regarding the piano? I don't use the chatbox, so I can't be sure you saw them. I was successfully able to copy them so I will be sure you see them.

"Since I don't use the chat box, as per my husband's request, I can't help but notice RW's desire for a digital piano. In our family, there are five of us who play the piano: myself and all four of our kids. My husband doesn't, but he has been determined our children will, so together we have pushed and pulled to make sure our children play. The two college kids are really good, and the two younger are getting past the point of no return--meaning that they won't forget how to play when they get older, no matter how hard they may try!

My mom is an excellent pianist, and she told me that she would rather play my upright than my brother's digital grand. Electronic pianos will give you a perfect pitch every time, but they lack variation. I read an article about the new Conference Center organ (in Salt Lake City). They didn't want to build a pipe organ for it, and certainly didn't want to reduce the Tabernacle organ's importance, but the organists said they go tone deaf if they have to practice on an electronic organ. Pipes have variations just like strings do. RW, make sure that you make opportunities to play on your real piano so that you will develop your ears as well as your fingers! Learning to play is a great ambition and I wish you well with it.

I hope RW gets to see this comment!

Right Wingnut,

As others are saying, why did you post a little piece out of the exchange?

What was the question?

Why is the video cut off just as Mitt goes on to explain what he means?

Plus, how did you jump to the conclusion that Mitt was saying "corporation aren't people?

If you can't answer those questions, you shouldn't make a post like this.

Doing so is willfully dishonest with the full intent to deceive others.

How is that "conservative"?

Anonymous said...

BTW, RW. How do you know Romney didn't believe corporations were people back in 2003? Nothing in this little vid supports your title.

-Martha

RW stated above that Romney will be the nominee but won't beat Obama. So that really casts this hit piece in the light that we should view it. RW doesn't want Romney to beat Obama and this blog, as well as all the other attacks he made over the last few months, are his efforts to help Obama beat Romney. RW is just another OWS RINO who has voiced support in the past for Gingrich. Like Gingrich, RW is employing scorched earth tactics against Romney and for Obama.

Can we please stop with the pretense that RW is either a conservative or a republican and call him what he really is, and Obama operative.

Let me complete the edited sentence..."No America's Success requires not just profitable and succesful businesses, although that is a part. American success requires upward mobility, healthly and thriving families, a world where the opportunities are limitless and the government is restrained."

One could imagine Mitt giving a similar speech today. This comment is as edited and out of context as the "like firing people comment."

If it was really so damaging, why not just release the entire rest of the video to give it context?

I assume you missed Dan's series of posts at RightOSphere where he tried to make the case that Palin is racist. Kavon eventually banned him at Race. He's a hack, and I always knew it was a matter of time before he would show his true colors.

AZ,

Thanks for the input. I'm aware of most of what you said, so I will practice on the acoustic as much as possible. The one I'm getting does have weighted keys, and is touch sensitive to give you different tones depending on how hard you press the keys, but I agree it's not 100% the same thing. My wife isn't totally sold on it either, but I need something I can play at night with headphones

Personally, I am getting really tired of these stupid clips where brief sections are taken out of context.

If RW and others think Palin, Gingrich, Perry,Santorum and Huntsman are more qualified than Romney who accomplished the following, then so be it.

-graduated first in his class majoring in economics as an undergrad,

-who then goes on to Harvard and graduates near the top with a law degree and an MBA

-makes over 200 million restructuring failing and creating new business ventures in the private sector..which in turn generated substantial profits for investors while creating jobs, then

-goes on and becomes CEO of the 2002 Olympics where he turns around a dire situation where the enterprise was 400 million in debt and completes the task with a successful event and a 100 million profit-his salary none.

-goes into politics where he serves 4 years as governor of the most liberal state in the nation where he reduced the 3 billion debt to a billion surplus-his salary $1/yr

some Republicans label him as a socialist because he created a state mandate as governor to have the 8% of the uninsured buy PRIVATE insurance so that the taxpayer did not have to pick up the tab.

It is unbelievable to me how anyone can accuse this man of being a big government socialist when his actions clearly show that he believes in the power of the private sector economy and how the private sector is the engine that will drive this country's economy upward.

These same people make excuses for the political parasites who have made their careers in Washington as politicians while selling their influence, their books, their movies, their vests and signing contracts with Fox News to promote their brand.

These political parasites are more concerned with the value of their brand then the future of this country!

RW, I was never banned at ROS. I deleted all my blogs and left. It was at the time when ROS readers were leaving the place in droves. I never went back there after that. I was not told nor asked to leave. And not long after I left the place finished falling apart and was abandoned by Kavon.

I wrote one blog in which I made a case for why Palin is a racist. The central argument was that Palin had come to the defense of Dr. Laura's career ending racist rant. That blog was deleted by Kristofer Lorelli. But Aron Goldman had my back and restored the blog. I still believe that Palin is a racist.

I got banned from Race42012, but that is a totally different story. After the Giffords shooting I made a comment on Race that went basically, 'republicans can kiss 2012 goodbye.' That's it. Kavon flipped out and banned me.

DanL,

You really think Palin is a racist? I find it surprising that you were willing to give her a chance if she is such a vile person. So you think she's a racist, Pablo thinks she's an idiot, dd thinks she's a money grubbing tramp, Martha thinks she isn't Trig's mother & Ellie thinks she's Satan. Anybody else want to add anything to the list?

And I cant wait for her to agree to Hugh Hefner's request to pose in Playboy (cougar edition), that would be the ultimate boost to the economy and a huge payday for her.

Paul,

He can practice the piano, instead. It will be very therapeutic for him. I look forward to see him advertised as a guest piano player with a symphony orchestra. When that happens, do you think he will use his pseudonym, "Right Wingnut," or not? LOL!

This will give him a great outlet for his frustration. Go for it, RW!
