Is Sarah Palin a QUITTER?

altI couldn't help but wonder that during THESE HARD TIMES, Does Sarah Palin set a good or a BAD EXAMPLE  for the people of the United States?

When the GOING GETS TOUGH, Sarah GETS GOING. That seems to be ONE of Sarah's biggest perception problems with the public. The ONE that I will discuss today.

Sarah Palin, resigned from her Governorship, half way through her term. She sited personal reasons for doing so including the pressure of ongoing investigations against her in Alaska.

In an economy with many people loosing their jobs, I have to say, Palin for me, doesn't cut the mustard.

Not a very good example in a bad economy. Where people are being laid off from jobs that maybe were tough for them as well. Jobs they wish they still had. Many wish they had ANY job. Palin has not been a very good role model for them in this economy.

By her example, If you find that you are under to much pressure in your job, her message to America is, JUST QUIT. That's the message that Palin sent to Americans when she left her commitment to the citizens of Alaska.

Tired of that mortgage payment? Your house worth less than the money you owe on it? Is the pressure getting to you? JUST WALK AWAY from your commitment to the bank. Just like Palin did with her commitment as Governor.

A better example, would have been TO STAY and finish her term Fight those allegations that she felt were false. She could have. SHE DIDN'T. She in my opinion, took the EASY WAY OUT. The path of least resistance.

The job of the President of the United States, is to important to hand over to someone who is weak under pressure and takes commitments lightly.

She can never be President. We can't have someone who will walk away when things get tough.

Look at Palin now, Everything she does is scripted. She so afraid of failure again, that she refuses to put herself in those positions. Just look at her interviews.

A President faces the chance of failure every day. It's how you handle it that separates the men from the wimps.

OhioJOE said...

She resigned rather than have the Alaskan tax-payers for Ms. McLeod's shenanigans. What is funny is that the Romneyites are so hung up on Mrs. Palin's resignation, but they are not bothered by the fact that the Democrat Senators from WI went AWOL and buggered off to IL. But I guess it is OK if Democrats quit?

BOSMAN said...

OJ,

Are we to judge Palin using the standards used to judge Democrats? Shouldn't ours be HIGHER?

salty said...

Is Ohio Joe really comparing Palin to Democrats? Like, What's Good for The Democrats is good for Republicans (Palin)?

Anonymous said...

OJ, can you read minds? How do you know if Romney supporters didn't care about the WI legislators? Regardless, that comparison is a false equivalency. Those legislators aren't running for president. I can't vote for or against them as I don't live in WI.

ConMan said...

Bravo Bosman!

I've been waiting for someone to bring up Sarah Palin's MAJOR CHARACTER FLAW!

Anonymous said...

Bosman, with all due respect...this is one of the most stupid, vindictive posts I have ever read on your site. I mean, the entire thesis is illogical and it lacks any intellectual honesty by not explaining the full reason for her resignation.

Under your examples, you state that Palin is a bad example for quitting, yet a true analogy would include that the job the person is currently working costs them more money than it pays. Or the mortgage that these hypothetical people might default on, due to Palin's example, would bankrupt them if they continued with it.

This post reeks of ROS Bosman not the RightSpeak Bosman I have grown to respect. I assume that Paul Ryan's statement got under your skin so you're deciding to take your anger and sadness out on Palin...that is so ridiculous that you should be embarrassed by it. Sure you'll get some giggles from the peanut gallery...I guess that's enough for you?

evermind, I get it...its not about Ryan...it's because RW posted a comic about MassCare and ObamaCare being similar and that Romney looks disingenuous by calling Obama's plan bad...whatever floats your boat I guess. I thought you were wittier than that.

OhioJOE said...

" How do you know if Romney supporters didn't care about the WI legislators? Regardless, that comparison is a false equivalency." Well, first off, Mr. Romney has been the least vocal of the major candidates on WI. But, yes it is a false equivalency, Mrs. Palin did not continue to collect a pay check like the clowns in WI. Further, there was no reason for them to leave. Nobody was tieing up the government with false charges against them.

Right Wingnut said...

Jersey, I didn't post the comic until I saw this post!

BOSMAN said...

Obviously JR you seem to feel that somehow Romney's State Plan is responsible for Obama's unconstitutional National Plan.

Obama is making the same comparison. I'd say you're in good company, but you're not.

If some Republicans want to discuss what they feel are Romney's warts, I think the other potential candidates warts are fair game and should be discussed as well.

OhioJOE said...

"...it's because RW posted a comic about MassCare and ObamaCare" BINGO, they have to lash out, because they cannot defend MAcare.

Anonymous said...

Well Bosman, I guess it is fair game...in vindictive land. I actually don't care if it inspired it. All I know is that that's what Obama is saying...if it did or didn't is irrelevant. If you noticed, I was actually giving options for Romney to get out of this mess. I guarantee you that explaining Palin's resignation will be a lot easier than explaining MassCare. But again if you want to play silly little games, on your site, hey by all means...

RW, really? So, Bosman is actually so pissed that Ryan said that about MassCare/ObamaCare that he decided to let out his anger on something completely off topic...okay.

In the spirit of analogies...that type of behavior is like a guy who hates his job and his boss, so after a bad day at work, he comes home and punches his wife because she didn't cook his meat properly.

Yes, Bosman, you are the one wearing the wife beater in this analogy.

Once and for all---DO POLLS, THIS FAR OUT MATTER. It seems, on this site, the Romney supporters only believe polls matter when Romney is ahead in them. Which is weird, because even when Romney is ahead in Fox News Poll they berate Fox News. Let's settle this once and for all.

I think Palin had to quit, and not for the same reasons as her fans. She had to quit because staying was going to be worse for her reputation and future ambitions than leaving--if you can imagine that. She was heading downhill, and by her own admission "hated this job". It showed. She was failing fast. She had a perfect out--the ethics charges. She took it and got out of Dodge.

I'm a Romney supporter, and I have said that I understand that the MA health care plan is an issue. I don't think it should be because I'm pretty confident that any Republican president would support the repeal of Obama's health care reform.

Regarding policy, I would happily take Romney's record of success over any other GOP potential candidate. When you look at the entire picture, his success in business, his success in the 2002 Olympics, his success as the governor of Massachusetts, his success in raising money with his PAC and helping the Republican candidates in 2010, I am pleased as all get out to support Mitt Romney for president in 2012.

Palin is a great choice, because she has a conservative core that is not beholden to anyone anywhere. She has executive experience--I wouldn't care if it was 3 months, she has more than most any senator or congressman.

She holds people accountable--just ask the former Alaskan officials she put in jail--Republicans at that. If you're trying to protect your turf, watch out. She's not afraid of approaching things in an unconventional manner, e.g. screw the policies and procedures and "the way we've always done things".

She doesn't need expertise in every detail of government, because she'd rather get rid of much of it anyway. Her perspective is one of just get out of the way and let people do their own thing--a bit libertarian even.

Last, but not least, I believe she has more respect for Romney, his capabilities, and even his record than most of her supporters do.

I don't fault Bosman for writing the post. That is what Bosman does. I knew that when I signed on to the site. Besides, the "quitter" meme has all but run it's course. I doubt there is a single likely primary voter that doesn't already know that she resigned. She will need to explain the reasons again if she decides to run, but she has nowhere to go but up as it pertains to perceptions of her on this issue.

Romney has much more to worry about. I suspect a large portion of the electorate is still clueless about RomneyCare and the striking similarities to ObamaCare. Thanks to Paul Ryan and others, it's finally getting some mainstream exposure. As we get closer to the campaign, and particularly after Mitt announces (if he announces), the anti-Mitt crowd will launch a scorched-earth campaign against his candidacy. The same is likely to happen should Palin run, but she has shown the ability to weather a storm the likes of what no other politician in modern history has faced. Can Mitt do the same?

I have a lot of respect for Sarah Palin, and whether it was justified or not, her resignation of her position as governor damaged her political value.

I am not sorry that Romney succeeded in accomplishing health care reform, but I do wish he had succeeded in overcoming some of the excessive liberal influence that made it less than ideal.

Health care reform is complex, of that there is no doubt. Elements of Romney's plan are justifiably questioned, and it could probably be made better. I get frustrated with the criticism that is based on very superficial analysis and doesn't seek to understand its complexity. Romney was not a dictator in Massachusetts, so he did not get everything he wanted.

One of the things about Romney that appeals to me is his careful study and research in his quest to find the best approach to solving problems.

Sorry, I feel like this comment is a kind of rambling, but so are my thoughts. Hopefully you can follow my meandering thoughts.

JR...You know that I don't want Mom upset at me. hahaha. I would imagine that none of the Rombots will admit that they wished that Romney had not signed MassCare into law.

I really think they don't understand what is coming from Obama and the media. Even if everything the Rombots say about MassCare is true and Romney was 100% right, Obama is going to say that ObamaCare is just like RomneyCare. Then the media lapdogs will parrot everything that Obama says. No matter what Romney says, the media and Obama will continue to say and act like ObamaCare and RomneyCare (which is what they will call MassCare from now on) are exactly the same thing. I read what you said in another thread (http://www.rightspeak.net/2011/03/paul-ryan-hits-romney-on-health-care.html) about what Romney should do and I agree with you.

Now before the Rombots get all upset....I do not claim that ObamaCare and MassCare are the same. In fact, I do not know much about MassCare so I do not make comments on its similarities and/or differences with ObamaCare. Until I research it further, I will not comment on it but I know the media and I know exactly how those boot-licking pieces of trash will operate. I am certain they will do what I have said above. I just hope you Rombots understand what is coming.
