Michael Steele is out. Reince Priebus is in

Congratulations to Reince Priebus, New Chairman of the RNC.

If you don't know much about Priebus, here is the link to his campaign website.

Here was his campaign message video:

Priebus is already receiving congratulations for his win. Here are the statements from the potential 2012ers thus far:

Mitt Romney:
"I congratulate Reince Priebus for his election to chairman of the Republican National Committee, and look forward to working with him on policies that will create jobs and get our economy moving again. With 15 million people out of work, Americans are looking to Republicans to offer an alternative to the job-stifling agenda of the Obama administration. If we do that, we can build on our recent victories, increase our numbers in Congress and reclaim the White House in 2012."
Tim Pawlenty (via Twitter):
Congrats @ReincePriebus. Thx @ChairmanMSteele for your service @ the RNC-Thx @Ann4RNC @Maria4Chairman & @sanuzis for your service to the GOP
Newt Gingrich:
“Reince Priebus will be an extremely effective RNC Chairman. His victories and accomplishments as Chairman of the Wisconsin Republican Party were extraordinary and I am confident that the national Republican Party will find similar success under his leadership. Reince Priebus’ election as RNC Chairman is a major step toward making Obama a one term President.”

The thread's topic?

And what was Huckabee's official statement? Do we all need to dissect it out of an interview on Fox?

Yes, watch the video when FN posts it if you want.

And wait for Sarah's Tweet any hour now.

I think Sarahcuda's congrats to Chairman RP will be longer than the Tweet you posted up top from Pawlenty.

Honestly, Pawlenty's was the best of those you posted above. He was not pandering to the new guy. And he offered thanks to those who were leaving.

It's interesting that Romney had time to make THIS statement, but has yet to weigh in on the all out assault on conservatives. I only point that out because his trip has been used as an excuse by many in his camp.

Romney's trip was only used by me, RW.

I'm sure a statement like this was waiting in the wings for whom ever won. Just have the press aide fill in the blank and send.

These kinds of statements are de regueur.

I liked Steele. But, hope the new guys good.

I read many in the TPM are more often donating directly to supported candidates now, not wanting any money going to RINOs. I don’t see anything wrong with that.

Regarding Romney's not responding to the "assault on conservatives," Romney has a history of not making a statement about every single news item that occurs. The fact is many other people came to the defense of conservatives, and by the time Palin released her video, the public had already recognized the fact that "political rhetoric" was not relevant to the shooting by a mentally ill man of a member of Congress, a federal judge, a 9-year-old, a congressional staffer, and many other innocent people. Romney did not get involved in the discussion as he has often chosen before to not get involved in squabbles. Instead he was working.
