Interesting that the biggest intangible "negative" about Romney that the panel mentioned is that he's "good for you." Yeah, why would we want a president who can do what is necessary for our great country to succeed?

I thought it was surprisingly positive review of Romney for a Chris Mathews show.

Does that mean that Andrew Breitbart is going to post the video clip and state that MSNBC is promoting Romney for GOP nomination?

Mike Huckabee receives Fair Assessment from MSNBC, Breitbart skewers

Glad to see that the cable channels are giving a fair assessment of Romney. That is what we need so viewers can make their own decisions. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

Not bad for NBC. In Fact, They gave Romney a better review here than Fox News did.

That's right, they don't have a horse in the race.

Huckabee as Count Chockula and Palin as Fruit Loops? Romney as Wheaties. Never heard that metaphor before.

Actually Ropmney likes Ann's homemade granola!

But I like the Wheaties metaphor..I'll make one slight change to their slogan...Breakfast FOR a Champion!

MSNBC is obviously in the tank for Willard.

One point they made that I think is dead on: Romney needs Palin to run.

Nice to see you, C4Paris!

cParis: "MSNBC is obviously in the tank for Willard."

It is obvious they think well of him. I wouldn't go so far as to say they are "in the tank" for him, but they certainly respect him.

Out of curiosity, is there anybody you can reasonably claim is "in the tank" for Sarah Palin -- apart from the usual suspects over at C4P, I mean? It seems to me that if she isn't careful, Sarah is going to end up like Ron Paul -- nobody outside of her core group of supporters taking her seriously. While her ardent fans are certainly full of energy and passion, there doesn't seem to be very many people supporting her outside of that core group.

You can't become President if all you can convince to vote for you are your most passionate fans. It's just not going to happen. You won't even be able to win the nomination. Passion works well in caucus states, but there are precious few of those. The majority hold primaries, and cult candidates tend to do very poorly there.

Sarah Palin needs to convince people outside of C4P to believe in her, and that is just not happening yet. In fact, she is the only one of the big three whose favorables are trending the wrong way.

The primaries/caucuses are still a year away, and that is an eternity in politics, but the clock is ticking down. She is running out of time.

I thought it was a good piece. They had me until one of them picked Pence as being a possible dark horse. Even the others on the Panel had a look like, What are you talking about.

Well said Mark.

I enjoyed this and agree it was more fair than the Fox piece. They do seem to respect him. I say Mitt is Total, cuz he's gonna give 100%.

The only thing I wish was said is that "Romney will also say it's a state's rights issue" because that, along with what they said about his experience, will be his biggest rebuttal to the Masscare=Obamacare criticism.

I also never thought of Palin running as good for Mitt, because 1) she kills much of Mitt's potential competition, and 2) she makes him look smarter and presidential than he already is. Makes a lot of sense.

I'm thinking they'll be respectful of all the candidates, not just Mitt. That just seems to me to be the tone they are setting for this particular series.

I agree with your assessment. It appears that they are trying to be as intellectually honest as possible. I cannot wait to hear what they have to say about Sarah Palin and Mike Huckabee.
