Univision News Special Investigation - Fast and Furious: Arming the Enemy

I found the video of Univision's investigation of Fast and Furious, and it made me furious. Furious at the Obama administration and its Justice Department, and furious at our news media that has allowed this story to go under reported. We know about the tragic death of Agent Brian Terry, but this investigation talks about the many others, hundreds, of Mexicans who have died, victims of the gun running operation called Fast and Furious.

This video is just over 45 minutes long, and it is in Spanish with English subtitles. All Americans should watch this. Our media is refusing to do its job, but Univision did it. Watch it, please!

Top 10

Here are my top 10 reasons to vote against Barack H. Obama:
#10. Downgrade of the credit rating of the US.
#9. Joe Biden (gaffetastic) – a heartbeat away from the presidency? ACKK!
#7. Keystone Pipeline
#6. Solyndra
#5. Justice Sotomayor and Justice Kagen
#4. ObamaCare
#3. Eric Holder
#2. Fast and Furious
#1. Benghazi

For the record, I had a really hard time limiting my list to just 10.  Some of the things that did not make my list were Susan Rice (US ambassador to the UN), Van Jones (former green jobs czar and avowed communist), the myriad executive orders (circumventing Congress), the unwillingness to defend the DOMA, Bill Ayers, Tony Rezko, Reverend Wright, taxes, class warfare, bailouts, broken promises. The list just goes on and on.

Here are my top 10 reasons to vote for W. Mitt Romney:
#10. Bain Consulting and Bain Capital
#9. 2002 SLC Winter Olympics
#8. Donated his entire inheritance
#7. His entire fortune was earned by his own efforts.
#6. Donated millions of dollars to charity
#5. Worked as Governor of Massachusetts without accepting a salary.
#4. Has a vision to restore America's greatness
#3. As governor of Massachusetts he improved the credit rating of the commonwealth.
#2. As governor of Massachusetts he balanced their budget.
#1. Jobs

I could have included a few other items about Romney. I could have mentioned his service to the Nixon family, or the Oparowski family, or the milk story, or his love and loyalty to Ann Romney, or his work ethic, his unheralded work to remove a burned out tree stump. The list goes on and on.

Should Mitt Romney use Jeremiah Wright to attack Barack Obama?

There was recently a proposal floated by some members of the GOP to attack Barack Obama by using his association with his former pastor, the reverend Jeremiah Wright. Romney distanced himself from that strategy, and repudiated the proposal.

Romney's decision has been criticized by more than one conservative. Specifically I heard Rush Limbaugh complaining that Romney attacked his primary opponents more aggressively than he will attack Obama.

Personally I have mixed feelings about Romney's decision. I personally have a low regard for Jeremiah Wright, and I believe that Obama turned away from the reverend Wright for purely political reasons. Wright's sermons are full of black liberation theology, and much of his message can be viewed as anti-American. In fact I view it as such. For years Obama sat in Wright's church and was seemed to be perfectly comfortable with Wright's point of view. Once Obama sought the White House, however, Obama cast Wright aside.

On the other hand, Jeremiah Wright is a private citizen. A few years ago Rush Limbaugh criticized Harry Reid for attacking him, a private citizen, but now Rush thinks it is perfectly okay to assassinate the character of Obama by assassinating the character of Wright, a private citizen. Granted, I have come to believe that Rush Limbaugh is capable of hypocrisy, so I am not exactly surprised that he doesn't recognize the double standard. I agree with Limbaugh that Reid's going after a private citizen was wrong. And it is just as wrong for Romney to attack Wright.

As I understand it, the focus of Romney's campaign is jobs and the economy. Obama has proven himself to be utterly incompetent in dealing with those issues, and Romney has attacked Obama aggressively on that.

I say let Romney continue to act presidential, continue to resist the temptation to pit American against American as Obama and his campaign do, and focus on jobs, the economy, Iran, contrasting Obama's government-centric vision with Romney's vision of limited government, repealing and replacing ObamaCare, and the issues that really matter.
