Romney: Living Life Tends to Make Your Life More Conservative
Mitt Romney was on Fox and Friends today and he made some very solid points that are worth going into some detail.
2) Romney responded to Sarah Palin's doubts about his conservatism and clearly will not make an enemy of the former Alaska Governor even though she has disparaged him on more than several occasions. “We should probably spend time with Sarah Palin...I’m not sure what she’s referring to. I’m pro-life, pro traditional marriage, I believe in the second amendment, as governor I balanced the budget every year I was in office. Cut taxes 19 times.” In addition to responding well to Palin he proves he is a concensus builder. It would be tempting to write Mrs. Palin off but he has never looked to divide people or exacerbate differences. The fact that he has received the support from so many colleagues and former competitors is testament to his business like ability to unite and enhance cooperation. Our current President lacks this essential executive characteristic.
1) "Living life tends to make your life more conservative". This accurately describes the course that Romney has taken. Pundits and rivals like to label Mitt as a "flip-flopper". The phrase refers to politicians that take one position when it is politically convenient and then revert to their previous position. Governor Romney has only become more and more conservative with age and experience which is the natural journey for most Americans. We call it wisdom. He has never flipped and flopped. That epithet is 100% misleading.

Our current President lacks this essential executive characteristic.
3) We have made the massive mistake of electing to office someone who had zero business experience and zero executive leadership. The plain and simple truth is Mitt Romney is the only candidate from Newt to Barak that has tackled this fundamental principal, "if you’ve been in the business world, you can’t help but be conservative, because if you don’t balance your budget in business, you go out of business.” President Obama made a campaign promise to cut the deficit in half and now says, "Well we're not there because this recession turned out to be a lot deeper than any of us realized." Mitt Romney has promised to balance the budget and his record and experience suggest he will because he has.
4) “I know some people want to talk about other issues, but frankly the issue that is beneath much of what’s happening in this country is the need to get our economy going again, to get people with rising incomes, gas prices lower, more people going back to work." Rick Santorum has done a good job at diverting GOP interest with cultural crusades but this year it's all about the economy stupid. Enough said.

Gallup Poll: Gingrich and Romney the most acceptable GOP candidates
Newt Gingrich (62%) and Mitt Romney (54%) are the only two candidates Republicans say would be acceptable presidential nominees from their party, emphasizing the degree to which the GOP race has narrowed down to these two men at this juncture. A majority of Republicans say each of the other six candidates measured would not be acceptable nominees.

Are Herman Cain & Newt Gingrich, Two Peas in a Pod? We'll soon find out!
There was buzz out there last night, that Herman Cain was going to endorse Newt Gingrich. This morning, the Cain train has pulled back from this.
I Won't be surprised however if Cain does decide to endorse Newt Gingrich in light of his having to back out of the Presidential race because of the pressure of sexual allegations and improprieties that had become the latest focus of his campaign.
No, not surprised even in light of his ongoing spiel that Washington needed an OUTSIDER with a BUSINESS BACKGROUND to turn the country around.
Gingrich was THE KING OF THE INSIDERS and represents everything I detest that goes along with that title.
His business background ran the gamut of lobbying for Freddie Mac to scams that tried to milk money out of physicians and small business entrepreneurs, not exactly the type of business background I would think Cain had in mind when he ran on this platform.
Perhaps this new Gingrich surge is a reflection of the decline of American values and morality.
As Right Speak's two part poll points out GROUP 1 and GROUP 2 ( results as of 12-4-11 below), many of those who support Gingrich seem to be giving him a pass on all his baggage. It's almost as if the current mindset with many voters is, HE'S ONE OF US. Sure he's a serial adulterer and a former dead beat dad, well who isn't? Sure he has tried to cash in on his name. Selling his name and influence through scams and lobbying, WOULDN'T YOU IF YOU COULD?
So this seems to be the new mentality of those Republicans who call themselves evangelical and values voters who support Gingrich. In light of Herman Cain's predicament, would there really be any surprise of a Gingrich endorsement?
I'm hoping that Cain doesn't decide to go with the flow and can separate his personal misfortunes for the values he campaigned for. One way or another, we'll soon find out.

PPP Polling: Romney and Obama virtually tied in Florida
If the Newt surge persists over the next few months the biggest winner is going to be Barack Obama. We can see that pretty clearly in our newest Florida poll.
If Mitt Romney's the Republican nominee, Obama's in a lot of trouble in the Sunshine State. Obama leads Romney only 45-44, and given that the undecideds skew largely Republican he'd probably lose to Romney if the election was today. Obama being stuck in the mid-4os against Romney is par for the course in our Florida polling. In September Obama led 46-45, in June it was 47-43, and in March it was 46-44. The dial has barely moved all year.
But if Newt Gingrich is the Republican nominee it's a completely different story. Obama leads him 50-44 in a head to head. To find the last time a GOP Presidential candidate lost Florida by more than that you have to go all the way back to Thomas Dewey in 1948. Even Barry Goldwater did better in Florida than Gingrich is right now.
Head-To-Head: (results from September)
Barack Obama 45% (46%)
Mitt Romney 44% (45%) (-1)
Barack Obama 46% (45%)
Ron Paul 40% (44%) (-6)

Newt Gingrich 44% (42%) (-6)
Barack Obama 50% (50%)
Rick Perry 38% (43%) (-12)

Herman Cain 37% (-14)

Allen West: It's time for Cain to 'move on'
He's right. Cain is proving to be a huge distraction, and needs to get out now while he still has a shred of dignity.
It sounds like West may be leaning toward Newt, based on his commentary.
Gingrich/West 2012?
The Hill reports:
...."Beyond reassessing his campaign, he probably needs to understand that he is a distracter for what's going on right now and we should move on," West told WMAL’s radio show “Morning Majority.”.....Read it all HERE
....West said Romney, who has polled at around 24 percent nationally for months, has “hit a plateau” and called Gingrich, who came up from well behind to become a front-runner within the last few weeks, “very viable” as a candidate.....
....Gingrich reportedly mentioned West, along with Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), earlier this week as possible vice presidential candidates on his hypothetical ticket.
West said he would have to pray about and discuss the opportunity with his family, but he promised: “If I can make a difference, then I'll answer that call."

Mr. Gingrich increases his lead as we close out November
We have not had many polls this week, but the few we did have suggests that Mr. Gingrich has cracked the 30% mark. We need for polls to confirm this trend, so for now, I peg him at 28 and a half per cent. Well on his way to 30% and an increase of almost 4% from last week. He has at least 25% of the vote in every region of the country and as many former Cain states go to Mr. Gingrich, he leads in 2 out of every three states. Mr. Romney cracks the 23% mark by adding a half per cent to his total. Mr. Cain slips almost another 3% and falls under the 17% mark. Mr. Perry and Dr. Paul also lose over a full point to sit at about seven a half per cent each. Mrs. Bachmann inches up another half point to sit at 5.6%. Finally, Mr. Santorum and Mr. Huntsman are threatening to crack the 3% mark, but we will see what happens.
Now for the delegate math, as most know, each state and District of Columbia receives 3 bonus delegates in addition to all their other delegates that they receive. I have previously ignored these 153 delegates in my analysis because they are traditionally super delegates as opposed to elected delegates. First because some states are being punished, the 153 number is now reduced to 147. Some states lost 1.5 delegates of these delegates and some lost 1 delegate due to rounding. And yes, I too would like to know how 3 delegates become 1.5 delegates in a given state that lost half their delegates. The state that received punishment in the form of losing delegates, have decided (perhaps ironically) to elect bonus delegates. Other states have also chosen to do this. Thus 55 delegates across the country will be elected by Republican voters. Of course, if the election were held today in all 50 states, a good chuck of these delegates would go to Mr. Gingrich. However, Mr. Romney would disproportionately get the largest share of these newly elected delegates. So at least Mr. Romney partially making up for previously lost delegates.
So here would be the score: Mr. Gingrich climbs to 937 (a total rise of close to two hundred. Mr. Romney climbs to 603 (an increase of over 40.) Mr. Cain slips 339 (losing more than 150.) Mr. Perry sits at 102 and Dr. Paul goes down to 77 and Mrs. Bachmann goes up to a total of 45. Now it becomes an expectation game, as we watch who does better than expected in early states and who does not. Eventually, we will see who drops out. It will be interesting to see how the delegate math shakes out, but with only a month to go before voting, unless we have another serious shift in the political landscape, it will be a Gingrich-Romney contest. The Somebody Other than Romney camp appears to be settling for Mr. Gingrich and of course the Nobody But Romney camp is looking for a few people to join their ranks. This is not a good choice for many Conservatives, but it is what is. Even if somebody like Mr. Santorum cracks the 3% mark or even the beyond, at best he’ll be a King-Maker and not the King. It is fun to a degree to watch both Mr. Romney and Mr. Gingrich wave the Conservative flag, but I flag waving alone is not enough. So some of us will just pass the popcorn and watch things unfold. It is always fun to watch political events unfold, but this time the results will likely be far from fun.
