On September 23, there were 140 combat engagements between Ukraine’s Defense Forces and Russian invaders along the frontline, with the Pokrovsk sector remaining the hottest.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook, publishing its update as of 22:00 on Tuesday, September 23, Ukrinform reports.
“Since the beginning of the day, there have been 140 combat clashes. The enemy carried out one missile strike and 31 airstrikes, used two missiles and dropped 55 guided aerial bombs. In addition, they launched 1,925 kamikaze drones and conducted 3,176 attacks on populated areas and positions of our troops,” the statement said.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Ukrainian troops have repelled seven Russian assaults throughout the day. The enemy also carried out five airstrikes, using 14 guided bombs, and shelled 104 times, including two salvos from multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the Russians attempted to storm Ukrainian positions near Vovchansk, Odradne and Zapadne. Ukrainian units repelled nine attacks; two battles are ongoing.
In the Kupiansk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled three Russian assaults near Kupiansk and Petropavlivka. One engagement is still underway.
In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian troops stopped ten enemy attacks in the areas of Kolodiazi, Novoselivka, Torske and Shandryholove; six clashes are still ongoing.
In the Siversk sector, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled an enemy attempt to advance near Yampil.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian troops stopped three assaults near Kostiantynivka.
In the Toretsk sector, the invaders attacked Ukrainian positions 24 times near Oleksandro-Shultyne, Shcherbynivka, Kleban-Byk, Rusyn Yar, Yablunivka and Poltavka. Ukraine’s Defense Forces repelled 22 assaults; two battles are still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk sector, the enemy launched 39 assaults near Vodymyrivka, Nikanorivka, Nove Shakhove, Zolotyi Kolodiaz, Novoekonomichne, Myroliubivka, Rodynske, Mykolaivka, Promin, Lysivka, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Dachne, and in the direction of Novoukrainka and Filiia. Russian strikes
Over the past day, Russian forces carried out one missile strike and 31 airstrikes, launching two missiles and dropping 55 guided bombs. In addition, they deployed 1,925 attack drones and conducted 3,176 strikes on Ukrainian settlements and defense positions.
Frontlines update
In the North Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Ukrainian units repelled seven Russian assaults. Russian forces conducted five airstrikes using 14 guided bombs and carried out 104 strikes, including two from multiple launch rocket systems.
In the South Slobozhanskyi direction, Russian troops attempted to storm positions near Vovchansk, Odradne, and Zapadne. Ukrainian defenders repelled nine attacks, while two battles are still ongoing.

In the Toretsk direction, 24 attempts to storm Ukrainian positions were recorded near Oleksandro-Shultyne, Shcherbynivka, Kleban-Byk, Rusyn Yar, Yablunivka, and Poltavka. Ukrainian forces repelled 22 of them, while two battles continue.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces launched 39 attacks, attempting to advance near Volodymyrivka, Nikanorivka, Novyi Shakhtarskyi, Zolote Kolodiaz, Novoekonomichne, Myroliubivka, Rodynske, Mykolaivka, Promin, Lysivka, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Dachne, as well as toward Novoukrainka and Filiia. Two engagements remain ongoing. Preliminary reports indicate that 105 Russian soldiers were killed in this sector, while 67 were wounded.
