Ukraine repels Russian offensive in Donetsk Oblast, reports General Staff:
The Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled Russian attacks in and around the settlements of Yakovlivka, Soledar, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Novobakhmutivka, Opytne, Vodiane, Pervomaiske, Nevelske and Novomykhailivka in Donatsk Oblast in the past 24 hours, Ukraine's General Staff reported in their Nov. 28 morning update
Additionally, Russian troops carried out four missile strikes on civilian structures in the settlements of Rozumivka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast and Musiivka in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, and fired over 50 shells against Ukrainian positions and settlements.
Overall, the situation is as follows:
  • In the Volyn and Polisk areas, the situation hasn't changed notably, and there is no evidence of the presence of the enemy's offensive forces. Belarusian troops are fortifying the border.
  • In the Siversky area, invading forces conducted shelling with mortars and artillery near Yanzhulivka, Mykolaivka and Halahanivka in Chernihiv Oblast, as well as near Vilna Sloboda in Sumy Oblast.

Russia threatened by coming Ukrainian offense across the Dnipro River in Kherson Oblast, says ISW:
An analysis of Russian fortifications suggests that critical ground lines of communications (GLOC) from Crimea to mainland Ukraine are threatened by further Ukrainian offensive in Kherson Oblast, the U.S.-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW) stated in a new update on Nov. 27.
While that doesn’t mean that Ukraine is planning or capable of crossing the Dnipro River, the ISW stated that their assessment of the Russian positions in the region allows them to suggest that Russian commanders "clearly regards a Ukrainian counter-offensive across the Dnipro and/or via the Kinburn Spit as possible and very dangerous."
Considerable efforts were put into fortifying defensive lines by Russian troops, but it contains a lot of vulnerable points that Ukrainian troops can use in their favor, as they have already done.
The Russian military "clearly do not expect to be able to prevent Ukrainian forces from getting across the river, nor are the Russians prioritizing defensive positions to stop such a crossing," ISW experts say.
Rather, Russia's troops are preparing for a long defense of their positions in the east of Kherson Oblast that " could allow the establishment of a solid Ukrainian lodgment on the eastern bank of the Dnipro River." --->READ MORE HERE
