China has placed the 13 million people living in Guangzhou under stay-at-home orders as COVID cases rise:
China has begun placing residents under tighter restrictions by locking down communities and ordering its residents to stay home to undergo virus testing, The Associated Press reported on Saturday.
Across the nation, a total of 11,773 people living in China were reported to be infected with COVID-19, including 10,351 people with no symptoms, according to The AP.
According to The AP, these reports prompted China to push tighter restrictions, putting many communities under lockdown as part of their "zero-COVID" strategy, which aims to isolate every infected person.
The National Health Commission reported 3,775 people were found infected, including 2,996 people who showed no symptoms in China's southern metropolis of Guangzhou, where 13 million people live, according to The AP.
That was 3,030 people increase since Friday, the outlet reported. --->READ MORE HERE

China arrests 9 coronavirus lockdown enforcers after video shows them beating civilians:
Nine coronavirus lockdown enforcers in China are under arrest stemming from a video showing them appearing to attack residents as the country continues to enforce stringent coronavirus restrictions.
The state workers wearing hazmat suits can be seen in the video, taken on November 7, dragging locals across the pavement before beating them, in the city of Linyi in the south of China’s Shandong province, according to Viral Press.
The Lanshan Police Department said that nine of the pandemic workers had been arrested for using "excessive force."
"The public security force will severely crack down on illegal and criminal acts that infringe upon citizens' personal safety and other legitimate rights and interests in accordance with the law, and spare no effort to maintain social harmony and stability," the police said in a statement.
Despite the rest of the world mostly moving on from coronavirus lockdowns, China has continued to enforce strict zero-tolerance restrictions in many areas of the country. --->READ MORE HERE
