Mayorkas called ‘Benedict Arnold’ in heated House exchange over border crisis:

Alejandro Mayorkas was blasted as a traitor to the United States over his handling of the southern border crisis on Thursday, by a congressman who got personal in comparing President Biden’s Homeland Security secretary to Revolutionary War traitor Benedict Arnold as the DHS chief faced an onslaught from House Republicans.

“My constituents want you impeached because they believe you’ve committed treason,” Rep. Ken Buck (R-Colo.) said during a House Judiciary Committee hearing.

“They compare you to Benedict Arnold. You know, no parent with the last name Arnold names their kid Benedict. They wonder what will the Mayorkas family do down the road.”

Mayorkas called the comparison “profoundly offensive” and said he is “incredibly proud” of his service to the US.

The embattled secretary faced off against several Republican members of the committee, including Ranking Member Jim Jordan (R-Ohio.) who asked Mayorkas point-blank, “Have you done anything right?”

“Next month you’re going to make it worse,” Jordan said, referring to the administration’s decision to lift Title 42, which allowed the US to immediately expel illegal migrants due to the pandemic. --->READ MORE HERE

Watch: DHS Chief Mayorkas Cannot Say If Illegal Alien Terrorists Have Been Released into American Communities:

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas cannot say for certain that none of the 42 illegal aliens on the FBI Terrorism Watch List and No-Fly List, apprehended at the United States-Mexico border last year, were released into American communities.

During a hearing before the House Judiciary Committee, Mayorkas said he did not know exactly where any illegal aliens accused of terrorism or having terrorism ties had been released into the U.S. interior after being apprehended at the southern border in 2021.

The exchange with Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) went as follows:

JORDAN: Secretary, have any of the 42 illegal migrants on the Terrorist Watch List or No-Fly List encountered at our southwest border been released into the United States? [Emphasis added]
