Joe Biden Celebrates Transgender Day of Visibility: ‘Your President Sees You’:

President Joe Biden celebrated transgender people on Wednesday, issuing a statement to commemorate “Transgender Day of Visibility.”

“I want you to know that your President sees you,” Biden said in his statement.

Biden voiced support for the ongoing fight for “transgender equality” against “the adversity and discrimination that the transgender community continues to face” around the world.

“On this day and every day, we recognize the resilience, strength, and joy of transgender, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming people,” he wrote.

Biden celebrated “transgender, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming Americans” for flourishing and “breaking glass ceilings of representation” in cultural institutions such as the military, the entertainment industry, sports, and in government.

But the president also expressed disappointment about the “epidemic” of violence and discrimination the community continued to face, especially “transgender women and girls of color.” --->READ MORE HERE

Middle schoolers taught about trans hormone therapy without parents knowing:

A New Jersey middle school is facing criticism after students watched a video about a transgender man receiving hormone treatment without their parents' knowledge.

The video, Ten Years on Testosterone, was shown to students in a social studies class at Pearl R. Miller Middle School in Kinnelon, New Jersey, according to a report.

It tells the story of LGBT activist Aydian Dowling, a biological woman who identifies as a man, and Dowling's transition.

School officials did not make parents of students aware of the lesson plan prior to instruction, according to the report.

"You can build up the courage to stand up for yourself in a way that this is what you want to do with your life," Dowling said, according to the video. --->READ MORE HERE
