State Finalizing Plan to Immediately Give ILLEGAL Immigrants Checks of Over $20,000; NY Lawmakers Near $2.1B Deal That Provides Jobless Benefits to ILLEGAL Immigrants, Ex-Inmates

State Finalizing Plan to Immediately Give Illegal Immigrants Checks of Over $20,000:
Democrats in New York are working on creating a fund that would give some illegal aliens and ex-convicts more than $27,000 apiece in direct payments for financial hardships related to the coronavirus pandemic.
Politico reported Tuesday that Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office is in talks with state lawmakers to create something called the Excluded Workers Fund, which would offer direct payments to “undocumented immigrants and formerly incarcerated individuals” who missed out on work opportunities amid the pandemic.
“Right now discussions are around eligibility and access,” Democratic state Sen. Jessica Ramos told the outlet.
The state would set aside $2.1 billion for the Excluded Workers Fund, which would offer $600 in unemployment back pay for each week eligible individuals in New York were unemployed from March 27 until July 31, 2020.
An additional weekly payment of $300 would be paid to those unemployed from Aug. 1 of last year through this coming September, Politico reported. --->READ MORE HERE
NY lawmakers near $2.1B deal that provides jobless benefits to illegal immigrants, ex-inmates:
Democrats in New York’s Senate and state Assembly have proposed $2.1 billion to extend unemployment benefits to undocumented workers and the formerly incarcerated, and they are reportedly close to reaching an agreement with New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
Talks between the governor’s office and state lawmakers have now progressed to how the relief program, the Excluded Workers Fund, would work "programmatically," state Sen. Jessica Ramos, D-Queens, said, according to Politico.
Recipients of the fund would retroactively receive $600 for each week they were out of work between March 27 and July 31, 2020, and $300 for each week from Aug. 1, 2020, to Sept. 6, 2021.
Anyone who has been out of work for the entire duration of the pandemic would receive an immediate payment of $20,700 and could receive up to $6,600 more if they remain out of work until September.
The fund would cover both illegal immigrants and those who have been released from incarceration since October 2019 and thus did not build up the work history needed to qualify for unemployment. --->READ MORE HERE
