Republican Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas announced Tuesday an end to mandates in the state that put occupancy requirements on businesses and required the wearing of masks amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Abbott made the announcement on the 185th anniversary of Texas Independence Day — a day when the Republic of Texas was formed out of the shadow of Mexico amid the tumultuous and bloody Texas Revolution on March 2, 1836. Texans told those in Mexico City to get lost, and the rest is the proud history that is still a part of the Lone Star spirit.
What sparked the Texan rebellion for freedom this time around? A revolt against scientifically dubious limits on commerce and mandatory mask-wearing — neither of which has worked virtually anywhere throughout the pandemic that began sweeping the globe and led officials to close down much of the U.S. beginning around this time last year.
“It is now time to open Texas 100 percent,” Abbott said while visiting Lubbock in the western part of the state, KCBD-TV reported. “For nearly a half a year, most businesses have been open either 75 percent or 50 percent.” --->READ MORE HERE

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) launched a new tool to help Americans find COVID-19 vaccines as counterfeits and tight supplies continue to plague the distribution process.
The CDC recently issued guidance that adults 65 years of age and older should be cautious of vaccines offered “free of charge,” refreshing concerns surrounding an already strained campaign.
To combat the counterfeit operations — and to help stem the scramble for what doses remain available — the CDC launched a new tool to allow Americans to search for vaccine providers with stocks of the vaccine in their local area.
Launched in partnership with Boston Children’s Hospital and Castlight Health, the tool builds on the current VaccineFinder.org platform, according to NPR. --->READ MORE HEREFollow links below to related stories and resources:
