Iowa Governor Signs Abortion Bill Allegedly Designed As ‘A Vehicle To Overturn Roe v. Wade’

On Wednesday, Iowa legislators passed the "Heartbeat" bill, which would ban abortions after a fetal heartbeat is detectable. On Friday, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds (R) signed the bill into law.
According to State Senator Jake Chapman (R), the legislation was originally designed as a so-called "clean bill," meaning it would stand on its own. Additionally, the bill contained no exceptions for rape or incest.
However, Chapman told The Daily Wire that the bill likely couldn’t make it through the state House on its own and without such exceptions, so it was attached to another bill, SF359, which pertained to the distribution of fetal tissue.
