President Trump's trip to West Virginia on Thursday brought with it the promise of a big surprise.
Aboard Air Force One to Huntington, deputy White House spokesman Lindsay Walters was asked to reveal the secret. "If I did that, it wouldn't be the surprise he was talking about earlier. So unfortunately, you're going to have to wait," she said.
It was worth the wait.
In front of 9,000 packed into the Big Sandy Superstore Arena, West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice announced that he's switching parties to become a Republican.
“This man is a good man. He’s got a backbone. He’s got real ideas,” Justice said of Trump. “He cares about America. He cares about us in West Virginia.”
