Trump Questioning Cruz's Eligibility Shows He's Very Afraid

The anti-establishment hates it when the anti-anti-establishment upends it. Lefty novelist Norman Mailer, who was supposed to have redefined American letters in the sixties, resented how conservative writer Tom Wolfe shook the literary world in the Reagan era with "The Right Stuff" and "Bonfire of the Vanities."
Listen to Mark Levin Above
"There's something silly about a man who wears a white suit all the time, especially in New York," Mailer said of Wolfe. To which Wolfe replied, "The lead dog is the one the other dogs always try to bite in the a**."
If Donald Trump really is the lead dog in the race for the Republican presidential nomination, why is he making such a point of snapping at Sen. Ted Cruz?
And it isn't policy that Trump is going after Cruz on so much as his eligibility to be president, based on Canada being Cruz's birthplace.
Read the rest of Thomas McArdle's op-ed HERE.

I have to laugh at a comment left at IBD. It sums up the Trump candidacy perfectly:
The Donald is just the first democrat that Ted will have to defeat on the way too the Presidency.

First of all, Trump helps Cruz by getting this out of the way, in case Cruz is the later presidential or VP nominee. We don't want to have this conversation in October. Trump continues to act as a catharsis for all that ails the body politic.

As a straight political tactic, it slows down Cruz and reminds people, that this could be the first time in American history, that a non-native candidate could be elected to the highest office. Personally I don't consider him a natural born citizen, but then I am a traditionalist and unwilling to look the other way.
