Obama Trips Bust The Budget

Betcha your Thanksgiving travel won't cost as much as President Obama's golf trips. As Americans prepare for the busiest family travel week of the year, Judicial Watch has released expense figures for Obama's swings on the greens and his family's vacations this year.
If you're among the nation's dwindling population of taxpayers, the Obamas' leisure travels set you back a little more than $3.1 million in 2015. That's just for the airplane. Still to come is the annual Christmas getaway from the White House to Hawaii, nine-hour flights each way.
The Secret Service is so busy covering up its own latest scandals that it was tardy providing the watchdog group with total security costs for the first family's fun flings.
Judicial Watch reports that three separate Freedom of Information requests to the Air Force produced the following Obama expense items:
The most expensive Obama outing was almost $2.2 million spent in June on 10.6 hours of flight time for Air Force One, a 747 that costs $206,337 per flight hour to operate. Obama took the jumbo jet to Palm Springs, Calif., to play golf with his Hawaii pals on the private course of Oracle billionaire Larry Ellison.
Of course, there was also the annual August Obama family safari to Martha's Vineyard. That trip involved three hours of flight time, or $619,000 in taxpayer funds. The Massachusetts island isn't big enough to handle Obama's 747, so it flies to Cape Cod and parks.
