Ted Cruz Releases Birth Certificate

What a novel concept! It took Obama three years into his presidency to do the same. This is a very smart move on the part of Cruz. Let's get all of this out of the way early.

Cruz obviously has a deep understanding of the legal system, and will likely seek some sort of ruling on this to avoid further distraction should he decide to seek the presidency.
.....In an effort to repudiate suggestions that he is ineligible to be president of the United States, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) released his birth certificate Sunday to The Dallas Morning News.
The birth certificate confirmed that the Texas Republican was born Dec. 22, 1970 in Calgary, Alberta. Because he was born to an American mother, Cruz instantly became an American citizen. But he also immediately became a Canadian citizen under the country’s law. Given his dual citizenship, Cruz could not only launch a White House bid, but he could also run for Canadian Parliament.
With Cruz looking increasingly like a 2016 contender, questions over his eligibility to be president have only gotten louder — harkening back to the debunked conspiracy theories surrounding President Barack Obama’s citizenship.
“Senator Cruz became a U.S. citizen at birth, and he never had to go through a naturalization process after birth to become a U.S. citizen,” Cruz spokeswoman Catherine Frazier told the Morning News.....

But no releasing of any FULL, ALTERNATIVE, SPECIFICS LADEN POLICY as (any) alternative to the many policies that he moans about like Waldorf and Statler- but offers nothing in return?

"But no releasing of any FULL, ALTERNATIVE, SPECIFICS LADEN POLICY" Huh?

Romneyman is just trying to interject his own 'talking points' in all of his arguments. This particular posts stems from his rhetoric that 'republicans have no ideas' is a bunch of hogwash, plain and simple. Nothing changes for this individual. It's always one thing or another.

since when were the obama birth 'conspiracy theories' actually debunked? Like so many of the scandals surrounding obama & his crony machine, they just posture through them until the media moves on, even thumbing their nose at congressional subpoenas.

I did not say it was debunked. I only mentioned that Obama released something that looks like a birth certificate. What you make of that is totally up to you. My point was that he I waited a long time to address it.

I'm not really sure why this is important. Cruz ought to be focused on being a senator, and not running for president. That shoots up a lot of red flags.

"Cruz ought to be focused on being a senator, and not running for president" He is. If only others could focus on their jobs.

Ted is greatly to be respected for his political record and for his recognition of our constitution's 'natural born citizen' requirement. But still he is not eligible for the presidency because his father was not a citizen at the time of his birth. [I sympathize; I am in the same boat. My younger siblings were eligible, but not me; my father wasn't naturalized until ten months after my birth.]

RC,

Naturalized Citizen has never been defined that way, or we wouldn't even be having this discussion. Furthermore, Obama wouldn't be president.

Right Wingnut said...

LOL, I meant "Natural Born Citizen"

Ohio JOE said...

" because his father was not a citizen at the time of his birth." Totally irrelivant.

He can't serve 2 masters. He's a 8 month senator. Poor John Cornyn, He has to carry the burden for Texas, as Cruz is to lazy to be a senator, and would rather kiss up the far rights butt and run for President. Won't get my vote.

I want more proof.

I enjoy watching the birthers change their minds rapidly on what constitutes a natural born citizen.

Obviously, the Founders wanted a president, who had been born in America, and then grew up here. Cruz was born of people who were not living in America. I'm very skeptical of his natural born status.

Right Wingnut said...

Who, specifically, are you referring to, Pablo? I've never been a birther, nor has anyone else who has commented, other than a couple of people who have never commented here before. When you make accusations like that, you need examples to back them up.

Ohio JOE said...

"I want more proof." Huh, he gave more proof than Mr. Obama, and you do not question him Pablo. Another double standard. Looks like you are the birther Pablo. But since when have you been intelectually honest?

"I'm very skeptical of his natural born status" Then read the rules if you have any intellectual honesty.

Ohio seems bitter for some reason.

Ohio JOE said...

I am not the clown who said that Mr. Cruz was not an Hispanic American.

cimbri said...

Ohio, I'm sure he is eligible. Hell, Putin could probably run for president, our rules have gotten so lax. I just don't think his status is what the Founders intended when they wrote the constitution.

Right Wingnut said...

Cimbri,

It's very simple.

Natural Born Citizen = citizen at birth

Naturalized citizen = NOT a citizen at birth.

If they intended it to defined as born on American soil, born to two citizen parents, or any of the other definitions some are throwing out there, they would have spelled it out.
