Egypt's Gen. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi orders that the Christian Churches destroyed or damaged by the Morsi Supporters be Rebuilt

The Egyptian defense minister has ordered the repair and reconstruction of all churches that suffered damage in the country’s violent demonstrations since the Egyptian military removed President Mohamed Morsi from power last month.
Defense minister Col. Gen. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi intends to fix the damage to Coptic churches at Rabaa Adaweya and Nahda squares, according to a report by the Mid-East Christian News
Dozens of churches were attacked and burned in riots after thousands of demonstrators took to the streets of Cairo and other Egyptian cities to demand the end of what they call military rule, following the removal of Morsi on July 3. Many of Morsi's supporters have voiced criticism at Egypt's Christian minority for largely supporting the military's decision to oust him from office.
“The Egyptian defense minister ordered the engineering department of the armed forces to swiftly repair all the affected churches, in recognition of the historical and national role played by our Coptic brothers,” read a statement that aired on Egyptian television.

I think rebuilding the Christian churches is a good idea and sends a message to the world that many in Egypt are anxious not to enforce Islam on everyone. However, if they are hoping to impress the Obama Administration with this maneuver, I'm afraid it will fall flat. The administration has shown itself to be perfectly willing to deny religious freedom to citizens of the US. Think Obamacare and abortifacients; think abortions and gov't support for planned parenthood. There are probably a number of administration officials that have been quietly applauding the destruction of churches and the persecution of Christians. Just a few less Christians in the world who can't "persecute gays" by denying them marriage or denying women abortions at 40 weeks. Bad Christians; Nice Muslims. Never mind that muslims kill gays, and women are chattel, besides the suicide bombing "problem."

What an interesting world out would be if the left readily could destroy all the Christians. I'm not sure they would like the world as much as they think they would....

I was appalled when Cruz, McCain, Ayotte and a few other Rs said they wanted to cut off aid to Egypt. I really am mystified. They never said a thing about the aid while the MB islamicized the country, but then the military overthrows the MB, so now they want to cut the aid? Huh? I think the whole US Govt, from Democrat to Republican, are all bit with the stupid bug. Obama has a better policy than this, at least Obama is trying to let them keep their aid, which somewhat corrects his earlier support of the MB. The Rs are effectively putting themselves on the side of the MB. Another huge blunder by the Rs.

Eqypt is heading back in the right direction. If aid was to be cut off, it should have happened during the previous regime. Oh wait, that was when this administration approved the aid in the first place, right? Never mind.
