The following is precisely why Team Romney needs to VIDEO TAPE every press conference, rally, and event Romney participates in

H/T Fox Nation

As a Romney supporter and owner of Right Speak.net, I do my best to record every Romney/Ryan event I can.

WHY.....you ask? Because the media has this tendency to take Romney out of context. If Team Romney recorded these events in their entirety themselves, they wouldn't need to have press conferences like this one Monday Night:

Team Romney needs to watch Mitt's back at these events...because if they won't, the liberal media will be more than happy to...and then present THEIR VERSION of an event.

But the video wasn't recored by the someone from the media.

You are correct. The videos of his events should also be posted on Romney's official site.

The Romney campaign also needs to make it easier to find out where their various events are being held.

Many times, you don't find out about an event until the day before it's held.

Romney/Ryan 2012!

Anon,

If his team had recorded the event, he could have just said, I'm not hiding anything the video is posted at Mittromney.com see for yourself.

This was a fundraising event for high rollers where things are discussed that aren't meant for the general public to hear.

But if Romney or Obama make a so-called "gaffe" at these events, as they are bound to do, it will often leak out to the media.

The key difference, however, is that Obama's gaffes are swept under the rug by 95% of the mass media, while Romney's gaffes get wall-to-wall coverage by 95% of the mass media.

The only solution to this VERY BIG PROBLEM is serious legislative reform of our nation's communications industry.

An equal-time requirement on television and radio for all political candidates and political discourse would be a great place to start.

In the meantime, the radical left will continue to dominate the public airwaves, continue to win high public office, and continue to propel our nation's long, steady, 80-year decline.

Newark, I disagree. Let the market sort it out. Who has the best ratings? FoxNews. Why? Because they are presenting the most balanced news and commentary out there.

Who has the worst ratings? MSNBC. Why? Because they are presenting the most Leftist news and commentary out there. All other stations are Left of center to far Left. And their viewership is in decline.

The great thing about this is that most people agree with what Romney was saying. We are driving towards an entitlement society. And there will be a lot of people who want to keep us going in that direction that will vote for Obama no matter what. Romney is trying to attract the middle, the 5-7% that understand we just might need a new direction.

Good for mitt, loved what he said!

I think what Bosman is saying is they need to tighten up things around Mitt and Paul. I agree.

Here is a question, Why is it so easy to find all of President Obama's public appearances on all of the major network web sites. But with Romney or Ryan, you'll only find portions of the events or just small segments.

If it wasn't for this site, I wouldn't know where to look for Romney's events if I wanted to watch the whole thing. Even Fox news is guilty. Fox live feeds the Romney Ryan events but only rarely put the whole thing up. It would be much easier and practical for Romney to have all these events up on his official site.

These comments DON'T hurt Romney. They HELP him! The Gallup (most likely biased to DimocRATS as usual) poll just came out that the majority of Americans think "government does too much" and is too big. The majority of Americans AGREE with Romney. I don't understand why so many Romney supporters are buying the nonsense from the Leftist media that this somehow hurts Romney. Same with the comments about the "Palestineans" .. that helps him (especially with Jewish voters whom are angry at 0bama)!

I think Mother Jones unwittingly just changed the momentum in Romney's favor...haha. Romney had a nice response last night about the differences between a big bloated centralized government model verses a smaller more efficient limited government model. I believe polls have shown people want less government. Romney will be on Cavuto this afternoon. Romney's original comment could have been more diplomatic, but he can now push his vision of an opportunity society verses an entitlement society.

I saw someone reference a CNBC quick poll where they found 75% agree with Romney's statement. The person didn't leave a reference, and I wouldn't trust the number (raw data, too soon, not large enough sample, etc). But if it holds true, that would be awesome!

Something I didn't know until this morning, this video is from an event back in April. My wife and I went to a private fund raiser and recorded the video with our phone. We didn't know the rule and nobody stopped us. We weren't being discrete, either.

They weren't being overtly forthright about the no recording rule, which means they probably weren't being very cautious about video security.

Still, Romney is right and rarely has to walk back what he says. Obama is the one that is not free to bare his true thoughts.

n regard to the "infamous" video, I posted this before I had the chance to hear the entire response, but in my mind it still rings true.

Thank you RightSpeak.net for posting this!

Romney said nothing inaccurate or condescending. There are 47% (plus!) not paying taxes, and chances are if they receiving benefits of government cheese, they are going to vote for Obama, because of what he stands for. Obama depends on a dependent electorate, and those with far Left tendencies. Democrats + Independents = an Obama president. Republicans + Independents = a Romney presidency. Elections are run on margins. That is what Romney was explaining to his donors.

Truth.... those on the dole are not producing anything net positive, they are draining resources by very definition. Romney is trying to get people off the dole so they can chart their own course in life... rather than what government relegates for them. Yes, we the people can provide a hand up when it is needed, but when more and more continue to fill the ranks that demand taxpayer (our) support as a chronic 'class' in the electorate.... and the "47%" become the 51%, THAT is when everybody gets the shaft.

The spinners of the Left are trying to make his statement, said in private (which was probably recorded illegally) into something it was not, and never intended to be. Shame on them.... not Romney.

Romney was dead on! That's is why he needs to be president. He's the mechanic to get the spark back into the American spirit!

The Democrats just gave Romney the election!!!

They just told the world that Romney is a true conservative. Turnout is going to decide this. Romney big problem is that some in his base weren't all that excited to vote for him. Now, they'll be climbing over each other to vote for him.
