Former VP Dan Quayle explains "Repeal and Replace" to Neil Cavuto (Full Interview 09-10-12)

I think this so-called "comment by Romney' controversy over repealing Obamacare is a result of a slow news day.

Romney wants to get resources in place for states to choose how they will handle healthcare in those individual states. For example, the ability to buy insurance across state lines, options for those with Pre-existing conditions, etc.

The problem is that some folks automatically only think MANDATE when they think Obamacare. There is more to it than that.

I do agree that Romney needs to continue to make the point that the MANDATE is gone on DAY 1. He has indirectly done this in his speeches several times when he says he'll sign an executive order that grants waivers to states to opt out of Obamacare until the actual bill can be repealed.

Romney has also stated that he will repeal the whole thing. The PPACA cannot stand without being whole. It is why the SCOTUS decision was bogus.

Still, it doesn't mean we can't rework some provisions of the bill back into another bill that will actually improve the healthcare system in the USA.
