If Romney wins Alabama, then Santorum and Gingrich should drop out. Alabama is Bible-belt, Bible-thumping evangelical country, and if Romney wins there, what are the pundits going to say then? The commentariat is quickly running out of explanations.

The talking heads on TV keep on saying that Romney can't finish off the other candidates, and that he is a weak candidate. That's utter hogwash. How these so-called smart people can miss a very simple fact is beyond me. There is a very high number of proportional delegate states this year. The system was designed to have the primary season last longer. That's not Romney's doing. If all the contests were winner take all, Romney would be trouncing the competition even more than he is now. From now on, when you see Bill Kristol pontificating how Romney is weak because he hasn't forced the other candidates out of the race, just point at the TV and say "Stupid!" The proportional system was designed to produce the exact situation we have this year.

Alabama's largest newspaper, the Birmingham News just endorsed Romney.

Also former Alabama Governor Bob Riley.

Both of these should give Mitt a bounce there.

Alabama isn't happening. Last night I was listening to Alabama radio while I was on the road and several stations were playing anti-mormon programs. These poll numbers are not accurate. Alabama is way too narrow minded to vote for Mitt. Don't set the expectations too high here. Romney is the best and Alabama rarely picks the best. It's McGovern land down here. Romney will pick up delegates though and that's the game. Go Romney!

That's too bad about the South and anti-mormonism. I'm from the northern South, but I still get it from time to time.

Seriously, I guess since they can't kick the blacks around, they've got to kick somebody. What is it that being from the South makes them feel like they've got to be bullies? At least they aren't murdering us or the blacks anymore.

(Generalities, of course. There are some reasonable Southerners. Unfortunately, the unreasonable Southerners have too much voice and influence.)

It is very naive on the part of the so-called Evangelicals to be anti-Mormon,I guess some of the Evangelicals do not understand that Mormons are christians too.I would like to suggest to the Evangelicals that America needs a Businessman in the whitehouse, what Santorum can offer is nothing. His experience is from legislation only nothing more.
go Gov. Romney
thanks
