RW, I think we can say conclusively, that was a decisive victory for Santorum in your Precinct! And all the other votes combined were less than Santorum's.

Congrats to all the Right Wing Nuts in MN tonite! ;)

I heard on TV, that NO DELEGATES are awarded their with this caucus until later when other candidates can influence who gets x amount of delegates.

If this is true, any of the other candidates can come in later and influence the outcome. What gives?

Rick sure did like Mitt in 2008

I'm still in the caucus. Santorum is the only candidate that had someone stand up and speak on their behalf. Not a lot of love for Romney in the room. Sure, he got 11 votes, but the people that don't like him really don't like him.

It's just a beauty contest. no delegates at this point.

Only Colorado is awarding delegates tonight and we all know who will win that, don't we?

Yeh, that's understandable. Romney's no Al Franken or Jesse Ventura.

Hey, even Reagan lost some primaries. I read today that only 1% of Republicans actually think Santorum can win the nomination.

As for no love for Romney...well there has not been a lot of love for Santorum in several states thus far either. But hey, where there are Mormon haters he has a pretty good chance.

Cnn just said that Missouri was a beauty contest today also. No delegates. Missouri's real caucus is March 17 and that Romney's strong organization would probably give him the win there in March.

So other than Colorado tonight, everything else is BS.

And remember, Santorum has been sucking up to unions for years now and there are not only a lot of liberals in Minn, there is a lot of union support there as well.

Terrye,

Just stop. You're bellowing yourself. Any liberals that were in the room voted for Ron Paul. Most of the Santorum voters were Catholics, who cited Pro- life causes as the most important issue. In addition, many see him as a man of strong conviction.

Oh, by the way....I did not hear anyone utter the word "Mormon" and nobody cited religious beliefs as a driver of their vote. Keep in mind, in 2008 the same precinct overwhelmingly voted for Romney in 2008, including me.

Beclowning yourself, not bellowing

RW,

How many delegates does Rick Santorum win tonight?

Anonymous said...

ZERO!

Right Wingnut said...

Rest assured, Rick will get the delegates in MN, and then some. The delegates to the district conventions were chosen tonight, and the delegates to the state convention will be chosen at the district conventions. Every delegate selected from my precinct voted for Santorum.

The delegates are awarded at both the district and state conventions. The people awarding delegates are the same people who gave Rick his big win.

If anything, Romney might not get ANY of them when it's over.

You can try to spin your boy getting spanked by 30 points in two different states if it makes you feel better, but objective observers know what this means. It's a whole new ball game.

Time for Newt to go home.

Santorum: " I'm not the conservative alternative to Mitt Romney, I'm the conservative alternative to Barack Obama."

Great line...

Beclowning myself? Really?

Well you know what, if pastors would stop telling their membership to not vote for Mitt Romney because he is a Mormon it would be easier to believe that Romney's religion has no bearing.

And to be honest, I think that Santorum is just the last remaining ABR vote and so the oh so principled conservatives out there who rail against big government and organized labor are going to ignore Santorum's voting record and vote for him because he is not Romney...

The problem is that Santorum is not presidential. He comes across as a jerk to most people. When he wins he is obnoxious and when he loses he whines.

Heck, even Newt is the conservative alternative to Obama (but just barely).

Yes, not a good night in the two states Romney nearly completely ignored. Strange how that works out. The next few weeks will be interesting.

After Santorum has been taking potshots at Romney for 3 months, I'll be awaiting his whining when Romney turns his machine on him.

Okay, enough with the sore loser line. Romney is going to do great in CO!

I hear a lot of Democrats were voting in these beauty contests..CNN said that the White House is thrilled with this win for Santorum...Obama and Malkin on the same side...will wonders never cease.

@Terrye, "...if pastors would stop telling their membership to not vote for Mitt Romney because he is a Mormon it would be easier to believe that Romney's religion has no bearing." That's just about enough Terrye. You people here are playing this religious 'card' way too much. You're whining just like Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton when they play the 'race' card. Get over yourselves & get real.

You have no proof of this as a wholesale widespread issue. Do I hear you or any other commenters offer congratulations to Santorum? No, you can't even bring yourselves to do so. You're the biggest bunch of phoney-baloney psuedo religious folks as I've ever seen. Sore losers, apologists & whiners one & all. Shame on you.

Santorum won all 87 counties in MN.

Big Santorum win. I wish we had exit polls so we could see the data. Big win for Rick Santorum. Congrats to those here that voted. It was your night.

Pub,

Thanks for showing some class.

Lionhead:

Proof? Oh come on...true blue conservatives out there who are treating this primary season like a speed dating session have no proof that Romney is going to sell them out but they keep spouting that line anyway, don't they?

You can not deny the fact that there is prejudice against Mormons, nor can you deny the fact that there is a strong distrust of Mormons among certain evangelical ministries. Does that mean that everyone who voted against Romney is a bigot..no..in fact I am sure that is not the case, but I do think that there is an element of that among certain voters.

I also think that there is a lot of self serving self righteous posturing among the newly minted Santorum voters who are voting for him for no other reason than he is not Romney and that is what the loud mouths on talk radio told them to do.

I do think that there are some Santorum voters who have supported all along and who are completely sincere in that support..however, I think that a lot of those people hold Romney to a higher standard than they do Santorum.

It is a good thing that Lucifer is not the in running or we would be hearing about how it would be better to have President Satan than President Romney.

I love how all the different Christians claim widespread discrimination. You should try being an atheist some time, having to convince people that you can be good and trustworthy AND be free from superstition.
