Mitt Romney Really Likes Cars

Posted without comment....

"A little history. I was born and raised here. I love this state. It seems right here. The trees are the right height. I like seeing the lakes. I love the lakes. There's something very special here. The Great Lakes, but also all the little inland lakes that dot the parts of Michigan. I love cars. I dunno, I mean, I grew up totally in love with cars. It used to be in the 50s and 60s, if you showed me one square foot of almost any part of a car, I could tell you what brand it was — the model and so forth. Now, with all the Japanese cars I’m not quite so good at it. But I still know the American cars pretty well. And, uh, drive a Mustang. I love cars. I love American cars. And long may they rule the world, let me tell you. I want to do well."

Ha! I love it! Mitt Romney is so great, he has so much personality, and is so unjaded. Thanks for sharing RW.

Haha, yes that was a hilarious speech, but just because the Romney camp melts down and talks about cars, you do not have to fall to their level RW. Haha, never a dull moment.

Ohio Joe:

What meltdown?

Well at least he is not pretending to be something he is not..which is more than can be said for Rick Santorum.

Now, we should do one of these of Sarah Palin, that kingmaker, talking about anything..cars, Paul Revere..and let us see how she sounds.

Ohio JOE said...

Hello, where is Mr. Santorum pretending he is somebody he is not?

RW, You tried, Buddy! But Mitt Romney is no Sarah Palin, let me tell you.

"But Mitt Romney is no Sarah Palin, let me tell you." Your point.....?

Welcome aboard RWN, I knew you'd come around sooner or later.

Was it Santorum's Ooooodi?

Romney likes to start off many of his rally's with some light humor.

If you look at the rest of this clip, he points out folks he attended high school with, Then asks jokingly, are there any old girlfriends out there. THE CROWD ROARED!

Did you notice how he emphasized "AMERICAN CARS"? Driving them HIS ENTIRE LIFE?

Unlike someone else we all know...Huh?

RW, Pretty funny stuff; no comment indeed. Glad your wife is doing better. ;)

It will be interesting to see the turnout for today's Maine caucuses whether it prompts more participation for the abuse or disenfranchisement & lower turnout.

"There has been a firestorm of protest targeted at Webster for how the situation is being handled. On Friday, Webster dismissed the entire caucus process as a “beauty contest” during a morning drive-time talk radio interview. That comment came on the heels of the Waldo County GOP Committee voting Tuesday to recommend that Webster face censure by the state GOP committee."

Whatever the result I hope they come up with a system that ends abuse by certain candidates & their supporters. This man Charlie Webster, needs to resign.

LIONHEAD,

To you have links to "I hope they come up with a system that ends abuse by certain candidates & their supporters." Or is that your first daily contribution to accusations and hearsay?

LINKS TO PROOF please. not links to more hearsay and accusations. Links to some OFFICIAL FINDINGS.

Rw, You're just bitter that Romney has driven American cars his entire life.

Then, you have Rick Santorum, who pretends to be a regular Joe but drives a foreign car while pandering to Michigan of all places.

But hey, based on Santorum's recent tax returns, he has a million dollar lobbyist income (more regular Joe stuff), so I guess having a foreign car just goes hand in hand with good old regular, relatable guy Rick's logic.

Right Wingnut said...

Many of you are either missing the point, or choosing to ignore the incredible pandering that was on display. Either that, or he was ad-libbing while his technical crew was working vigorously behind the scenes to get the teleprompter back on line.

"The trees are the right height...." Really? LOL

Right Wingnut said...

Bosman, Do you think those high school classmates just happened to be there? Come on...

Right Wingnut said...

anon, Mitt admitted to a reporter that he has driven at least one foreign car over the past 10 years. Do I care? Nope.

I hope Rick delivers a knockout punch over the next 3 weeks. It's time for Mitt to go home, so we can go back to talking about the issues.

Right Wingnut said...

LOL, It turns out the Chrysler 300 Romney used to film his Michigan ad was built in Canada.

BOSMAN said...

RWN,

"Mitt admitted to a reporter that he has driven at least one foreign car over the past 10 years." I've DRIVEN a Russian made car over the years. Driving ans OWNING are very different.

As to Romney having HS friends in the audience, how is that applicable to my statement and to the humor the crowd felt who were not former Romney classmates? He was making a point of familiarity with the crowd. If you had posted the entire clip and not a few seconds of the opening, you would have seen how the crowd loved his comments.

As to Rick delivering a "Knock-Out" punch, I wouldn't put to much hope in that. You've had a history of disappointments. There is only so much the human body can bare.

Anonymous said...

It is you who's missing the point, RW. Santorum's not the regular guy he portrays himself to be. Romney tithes and gives to charity 15% of his income and drives an American car. Santorum donates 2% of his million dollar lobbyist income and drives a foreign car.

Based on deed, not just talking, who is more compassionate and patriotic toward Americans and America? It's Romney.

Based on deed, not just talking, it's Romney who is authentic and Rick who is inauthentic.

Right Wingnut said...

Bos, Mitt has OWNED at least one foreign car in the past ten years. He told that to a reporter last week.

"LOL, It turns out the Chrysler 300 Romney used to film his Michigan ad was built in Canada."

You know, Santorum's a big union guy. The unions killed the American auto. Rick's had his part in driving business out of the counry. Not surprising Santorum drives a foreign car.

Right Wingnut said...

He didn't say what kind of car it was, but I'm guessing either a Bentley or a Rolls Royce.

Romney drives a Mustang.

LINK PLEASE.

Of course, UNLIKE Rick's Oooodi that is only made in Germany and Mexico, many Japanese cars are made by Americans here in the U.S.A.

Bos,

I don't have time to dig it up for you. I have to go pick up my wife at the hospital. Just Google it.

Talk to you later...

Lionhead, if you are able to do some basic math, it was obvious that there was no way Washington County would have gone to Paul by anywhere near 200 votes on Feb 11.

Ron Paul got 8 votes out of Washington County in 2008, no way he would have gotten 200 more votes than Romney there this year.

I guess there is slight chance if all this noise causes Washington county turnout to be huge compared to what it would have been if it had been on Feb 11 and gives Paul unfair advantage, but I don’t think that is going to happen either.

The the turnouts for each Maine county were in 0.2-0.6% range of total county population compared to population. Most rural counties similar to Washington had turnout range in the lower end of that range. 0.6% of Washington’s population is just barely votes 200 votes, and no county did any candidate get over 60% of vote.

So there is no way Ron Paul would have won it by over 200 votes on last Saturday, if he gets there 200 votes more than Romney this weekend it is because of unnatural turnout of party poopers, and unnatural tactical voting based on the information acquired after Feb 11, not what it would have been on Feb 11, not natural result.

Teemu said...

The good thing is that because the rules are not up to one person, or even small committee, Maine GOP can't accept Washington County results before March 10 full state party committee meeting.

So unnatural turnout of party poopers can't tilt the results before that.

Bosman, links to abuse have already been provided over the past few days. I suggest you re-read & view the YouTube videos. You're way over reacting to what has been established as fact. As to "official findings" we'll have to wait awhile for this to be sorted out & any protests that may be filed are acted upon. Sorry, I'm not going to take your goading bait here. Have a pleasant day.

In the mean time, others are thinking twice about your candidate. Here's your link:

Follow LIONHEAD'S ARTICLE and this is what you find:

"“If Romney cannot win Michigan, we need a new candidate,” said the senator, who has not endorsed anyone and requested anonymity."

HaHaHaHa!

Hi Bosman, Here's another one for you with a source, Republican strategist Matt Mackowiak.

"It's hard for me to see how Romney rights the ship if he loses Michigan," said Republican strategist Matt Mackowiak. "There is no level of spin that can overcome that disaster."

These articles are to start preparing for a defeat & to have an alternate available. Sorry, the perceptions are changing on you.

"Hi Bosman, Here's another one for you with a source, Republican strategist Matt Mackowiak."

Who cares what an ex-HuffPo hack has to say.

I'm sure Santorum & Gingrich join you in their belief that he's on to something.

I have ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT that AZ, MI, WA and super Tuesday will be kind to Romney.

Sorry to read RWN's wife is in the hospital - hope all is well.

Right Wingnut said...

Doug, Thanks for the kind words. It was a simple heart procedue for an occasional racing heart. She first considered having it done 9 years ago, but decided to try medication, which didn't work. After years of putting it off, she got the procedure done yesterday, and is now home resting. Other than a sore spot on her neck (thats where they go in) all is well.

Lionhead, are you accusing Romney of cheating in Maine? If so, I'd love to see a link for that. Kind of impossible, though. He doesn't roll that way, in case you didn't know.

Martha, I'm making observations on the Maine caucus that others are validating. Go here:

http://pollways.bangordailynews.com/2012/02/18/national/why-and-how-the-maine-caucus-mess-matters/

While you may think honest, fair elections are unimportant, others do not agree with you. If your man Mitt is nominated, he's going to be facing a Chicago style campaigner who's going to take off the gloves as he smashes Romney in close districts. Turn about is fair play isn't it?

Here's the wrap up article by the Bangor Daily News which IMHO, is a far better source of information on this matter:

http://bangordailynews.com/2012/02/18/politics/ron-paul-carries-hancock-as-state-nears-end-of-gop-caucuses/

As you can see, Paul was more than 2 to 1 vs Romney in a heavy turnout in Washington County. I thank God the voters were not intimidated by your candidate or his supporter, Charlie Webster. I don't think we've heard the end about this man.

Now for the unofficial win/loss amount, Romney only won by 117 votes all in:

http://bangordailynews.com/2012/02/18/politics/live-updates-from-the-gop-caucuses-in-hancock-and-washington-counties/?ref=relatedSidebar

And the County/Town breakdown spreadsheet:

http://bangordailynews.com/2012/02/18/politics/votes-in-the-2012-maine-gop-presidential-nominee-preference-poll/?ref=relatedSidebar

While Romney won the caucus, I would not call the tactics employed by the GOP as being inclusive or decisive. BTW, do scroll down & read some the comments by the locals, they're not very happy about this event. Do you really think, they're going to fall into line behind Romney in November after nearly being disenfranchised?

Mitt drives a Mustang. Made in America. Ann drives a SUV made right int he USofA. Santorum drives an audi. Makes me wonder if his sweater vests are also made in China.

RW My daughter had a similar procedure last summer. Since she was a child, they went in through the groin, and once they found where it was miss firing, they got it all fixed. She was out the same day and resting for about a week and on asprin for 6 months. All is well, and I'm sure your wife will do great as well.

If Romney is into cars then I suppose that he's also fond of vehicle graphics. Back then I was a car addict, after I got through with that addiction. I got hooked on customizing cars. Oh! The expenses just keep piling up.
