Mitt Romney on the Stump in Florida: We don't need any OCTOBER SURPRISES

"By the way, saying that Newt Gingrich is a lobbyist is just a matter of fact. He indicates that he doesn't fall within the narrow definition of lobbyists that he might have in mind. But if you're working for a company, getting paid for a company through one of your many entities and then you're speaking with Congressmen in a way that would help that company, that's lobbying. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a duck." ~Mitt Romney

I was listening to Glenn Beck on the radio today and he was playing a segment from a "supposed" conservative FL radio show that was interviewing Gingrich regarding Glenn Beck's criticism of Gingrich's big government progressive record.

They were talking about how Glenn said that Gingrich's favorite president was FDR and Wilson and Gingrich arrogantly laughed and said that that was "bologne" not "pious bologne" just bologne, and the radio guy let Gingrich get away with that comment, without delving further into the validity of Glenn's accusations.

On Glenn's show he played back at least 90 seconds of Gingrich praising FDR,multiple times and these were gushing and glowing comments of praise for FDR and his big government policies in 1933.

At least Ann Coulter and Glenn Beck don't readily accept Newt's distortions of the truth like MSM,FOX and right wing talk show pundits. At least there are a few political pundits, who dare to question Newt on his record and previous statements.

I hope the radio segments regarding Newt and FDR get distributed to other radio stations and media outlets. I would be real curious as to which media pundit will call this a bunch of "pious bologne".

Most people don't question because they don't live in the past. They live day to day, and when people say they sought forgiveness, lots of people tend to go ok...ok...I'll give it a shot. But you know that MEDIA ITS CRAZY HORNY OVER NEWT.

Here is the story about Newty shouting "bologna" again....ha ha ha..

I wonder why Newty is always speaking the language of deli meats.

You're kidding me right? forgiveness..."give a shot". Forgiveness for his adultery and ALL HIS BAGGAGE. How else do you judge his capacity to be President....WHAT HE SAY'S NOW? Isn't that how Obama was elected?

"Give a Shot" There's NO TRIAL PERIOD..."Give a shot"..You want to IGNORE HIS HISTORY..and TAKE A CHANCE, based on WHAT THEN?

leighrow,

It's all HERE

Bosman, are you sure that you don't want to reconsider banning people? And not allowing anonymous posts. The language around here is totally unacceptable, some total bottom feeding trash are dropping in to defend Newt. I suspect that RW invited over his relatives.

Martha, I agree that Mitt didn't look great here. His face looks like he's constipated and suffering from an ulcer.

Anonymous said...

Bottom feeding trash because you don't agree, what if I trashed Newt that hard? I wonder how the grass is on the other side. Continue spitting that drivel, but you give yourself and what you embody away too easy. Ban what you don't like, support what you do. Draconic as all hell.

Hey PIG MOUTH,

Learn to speak without the trash mouth or take a hike!

Trash mouth to clarify is pg-13 language? Calling somebody out? Or answering somebody's question? Because I assume it's based on language, because being blanketly labeled as a bigot or racist is relatively offensive, but that seems to fly around here. Not trying to be snide, just trying to get an explanation.

See?

That wasn't hard now, was it?

Forgive? Oh come on....for years Republicans have gone after Democrats for doing less than Gingrich did and now they are spouting stuff about forgiveness? Why didn't Gingrich forgive Clinton rather than pursuing impeachment?

Gingrich has supported comprehensive immigration reform, national mandates, earmarks, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae's business model, he flip flopped on Iraq and global warming..and he was driven from office by his own party. Now he wants forgiveness?

That is just Newt trying to get away with murder...and this habit he has of pitching a tantrum every time some reporter asks a question he does not want to answer will backfire on him with Independents.

I enjoy how much of discussion this has gotten, really shows the effect of impact languages. The tantrum is working currently, why fix what ain't broke currently. When it starts to backfire I'd assume his staff has at least 2 hamsters on wheels of intelligence to switch tactics.

Isn't it fascinating that Newt can constantly get away with calling his critics liars without offering any evidence to back his claim?

First Newt went after Romney's Super PAC claiming it was airing lies. And after Romney pointed out there were no lies in the ads Newt just shrugged. Yet Newt comes off looking like the good guy because he's "bold" or some other pious bologna.

Then Newt goes after the media for airing "lies" from his ex-wife claiming he has "several sources" yet no one seems to know who or what these sources are. But Newt gets a standing ovation from the S.C. audience because he can look really smug and say nasty things about the media. Gees, I'm not a fan of the media either but the question was an honest one. And why does Newt get to give his side of the story but his ex-wife who's gets her name smeared across the media world doesn't get to because it's inconvenient? Oh please. Not to mention he's never denied his serial-infidelity (which should be the real issue to begin with).

Now we've got Newt claiming Glenn is lying about his progressive tendencies! But, I guess if Newt screams "liar liar" loud enough, angrily enough, and long enough the electorate will lift him onto their shoulders and carry him into the white house cheering!

Newt was a champion debater in High School. Which means he was superb at arguing any side of a situation regardless of the truth (that's what people on the debate team do - they get handed a point of view and are forced to defend it in order to win). Looks like he's continuing the tradition.

I used to say anyone on the GOP stage would be better than who we have in there today. Problem is, I don't know if I could pull the lever for a man (Newt) I know is calculatingly malicious in order to beat a man (Barack) who I know is foolishly fallacious. May God have mercy on us all.

Anon...when it backfires he could be on the debate stage with Obama looking like a crazy person.

Terrye said...

And I mean Gingrich looking like the crazy person..because he is..he is really is nuts..that is why the people who know him best are not coming out and supporting..they know he is nuts.

Phil, I feel the same as you. Imagine my disappointment as someone who has switched from voting democrat to voting republican just 2 elections ago. I decided to vote republican because I thought that party was more conservative when it comes to ethics and values. I did so even when it meant voting for McCain ... felt that I was voting for the better party even though I was not crazy about McCain (was hoping for Romney back then as now). I am quite sure that I cannot vote for Gingrich and so likely would just not go to the poll that day - something I have come down hard on others for doing.

I wonder if Mitt was referring to an October surprise in reference to a watch dog group who wants a Federal probe into Gingrich's Health transformation Think Tank.

Attached is an article regarding Gingrich's ambiguous Tax returns that were released last Thursday. I find it interesting that there hasn't been much focus placed on Newty's returns especially when it comes to his 33 million dollar Healthcare Think Tank.

The media is only concerned about how much Mitt is worth and how much he gives to his church and the fact he pays 15% on investments.
