I saw the Rudy bit Hannity first hand and was amazed how he didn't reference Newt's flip-flop problem when reviewing Romney's changes. Ah the power of selective Fox News Host/Guest selective memories.

And for Rudy to call Romney, with a doubtful smirk, a ?moderate Governor? flies in the face of his own record as a :moderate Mayor."

Oh yeah thats a real "frank" interview. Lets watch Rudy gush about Newton for 5 min then hammer on Romney over DNC lies. Great work fox.

It is obvious that Guiliani is using the ABR and Obama talking points.

Why does the adulterer Gingrich gets away with his Major flip flops.

This election is fixed. Mitt gets attacked from the conservative and lame stream media...if he wins the nomination..he will have certainly earned it.

If Newt wins it will be 4 more years of Obama. People are fooling themselves if they think Obama will be easy to beat.

Dont worry. Rush will come to Mitt's defense, as he did for Newt.

Oh wait.

So one serial adulterer comes to the defense of another serial adulterer and attacks the guy who has been totally faithful to his wife of 40+ years and our resident SoCon is in the corner with the adulterers. Good for your TC!

Right on time, here comes John Sununu attacking Newt this morning. Buckle up folks as the progressive gladiators begin to duke it out.

TC, Dan brings up a good point.

Are you supporting Newt now, or are you still just ABR? Do Newt's moral failings bother you at all?

"Why Attack ads wont make the world better" What is worrisome to me is the first course of action for all progressives of any stripe is to attack the other party, or fellow candidates. Always the ad hominum attacks at the personal level. If one wants to argue about qualifications, character, values, issues, policy, past record it seems to be swept away under the rug in favor of the cult of personality.

Here you have to give the man credit for defining the problem & suggesting a solution. Attack someone on the facts or issues, not grovel in the personal attacks.

I think it's time to look at the socon Tea Party and conservative media as tainted and run only by power rather than principles. It's time to label Rush Limbaugh, Gingrich, Giuliani, Cain, Trump, Fox News and their sheep for what they are, CINO's pronounced seeno, which is "conservative in name only". This is the "preach but don't do" crowd that will lead this party to be looked at as worse than the Dem party.

It would be refreshing if people (both the news media and the voting public) spent more time listening to what Romney actually says and less time listening to biased talking heads.

Listen to Romney's interview with the Washington Examiner. Listen to Romney's speech at the Republican Jewish Coalition forum. That has a lot more actual information about Romney, his policies and his plans.

Romney, One Way or the other said...

I think Romney should threaten to run 3rd party if he doesn't get the nomination. Everyone else is.

SCREW the Republican Party. Let them lose to Obama. Hypocrites don't deserve to win.

Anonymous said...

Win or lose Romney has done more than enough to help those who are truly conservative not only in word but in deed, to realize whose with us and who isn't. A RINO is a political animal and a CINO is a life animal. The former only cares about votes and popularity, it's a disgrace to their affiliation within the party. The latter cares about principle but is okay with you not living by them. I'd rather be called the former than the latter as a politician. Romney is neither and should he lose he should ride into the sunset take his millions of dollars get shelters for his children and grand children and live out his life saying he gave it his all.

It's unfortunate that every time I see anything posted by TC that doesn't include Huckabee, I know that nothing nice is going to be said about Romney. I mean, NOTHING! Not very fair and balanced. It also doesn't inspire me to want to see or read more. I can handle people saying negative things about Romney, but I do expect to hear something nice from them, as well. The guy has a nice family, something you can't say about Giuliani or Newt.

I don't see a problem with Sununu and Talent as well as King and Coburn getting the truth out about Gingrich.
Fox,Hannity,Limbaugh,Levin and Gretta have already seemed to have pronounced Gingrich as the winner and they didn"t even bother to report any real details or history of the Gingrich baggage, and there is soo much of it.

The LSM will wait until Gingrich gets the GOP nod,and then they will report the sorted details on Gingrich,so it is up to the Romney team to set the record straight on Gingrich's infamous tenure as Speaker and House member.

I am very familiar with Gingrich and I have friends who worked in Washington when Gingrich imploded...they are in shock that this unstable sociopath could potentially be the GOP nominee.

If Gingrich is the GOP nominee....Obama gets 4 more years period.

This is funny. Conservatives hate Gulliani. You would think I would be used to the blatant hypocricy by now..but sometimes it still disgusts me.

You know what? If Newt wins this, I will stop being a Republican. I will become an Independent. I will not be in a party with this lying thieving wind bag as its standard bearer and I don't give a damn what Rudy thinks of that.

And as for Texas Conservative and all the other hypocrites and liars out there doing everything they can to get Obama reelected..you can have the party..For the last 4 years I have had to listen to morons call me a Rino if I so much as said something nice about someone like Mitch Daniels for Mitt Romney...or Jeb Bush..and yet these people can not possibly win elections without people like me...they can screw things up, but they can't win..So, I say screw them..let the Erik Eriksons and the Texas Conservatives have the party and when they get their asses handed to them all I will say is.."It could not happen to a nice bunch of idiots".

Anonymous said...

I love how Romney's past needs to answered for and Gingrich's past is all about "attacks". Just listened to Rush for about 20 min...I am so sick of hearing Newt compared to Reagan...there was only ONE Reagan and neither Newt or Mitt is Reagan...I guess the right has forgotten what general elections are really like. The whole country doesn't vote because someone can expound on every topic that is posed to them...optics matter a lot and money matters a lot. Newt will have neither of those going for him. (I'm not talking about Newts looks either...although they will contribute).

Ohio JOE said...

"And as for Texas Conservative and all the other hypocrites and liars out there doing everything they can to get Obama reelected..you can have the party.." Quit this holier than thou silliness. Mr. Gingrich is the leading second choice among Romneyites. Many of them also like Mr. Guilliani. So quit blaming everybody else for liking Mr. Gingrich and Mr. Guilliani. You friends like them too. This wolf crying is getting old fast.

Terrye said...

Anon:

Of course..comparing people to Reagan is another thing that the true conservatives have to do..never mind the fact that just a little over 3 years ago Rush Limbaugh was calling Romney a true conservative.

Terrye said...

Ohio Joe:

They used to like Gulliani..I doubt if that will last and I doubt very much if Gingrich will remain the second choice after his idiot fan club gets through treating Romney like a communist or something.

As for the wolf crying..spare me the lecture. I have been called a Rino too damn many times to care what people like Texas Conservative and you think. Honestly, I don't give a damn anymore.

I am serious. If Gingrich is the nominee. I am going to be an Independent. And I am not sure I will vote for the lying sob in a general election either.

Terrye said...

In fact, I spend a lot of time with Romney supporters, and what I hear of them here of late is a sense of betrayal and even some disgust.

Lionhead said...

@Terrye (3) Perhaps they feel that way because the man they are backing choose the wrong strategy to win the primary elections. Going negative now, is much more than a campaign "course correction." Moreover, it may expose Mitt's 'yang' side in the ying-yang personality.

Shoehorning conservatives into a party that is run by RINO establishment progressive conservatives (PCer's) that are not going to vote for Mitt because he's aiming for 'moderates' isn't going to work. Square pegs into round holes.

Anonymous said...

Lionhead, I wouldn't be so sure that Romney chose the wrong strategy just yet.

Romney always knew someone would emerge to challenge him, he just didn't know who. No matter who it was going to be, Romney was not going to go high profile until now anyway. That has been the strategy all along, and has not changed. Romney always knew he would have to fight someone, he couldn't stay above the fray forever.

I don't even want to hear that crap about Rinos, I mean it..I am sick of it and it is stupid..

Meanwhile we have all these so-called conservatives sucking up to a guy like Gingrich and calling Romney a RINO?

What a freaking joke..People doing their circle jerk in their echo chamber of talk radio and Fox might actually believe that crap, but the rest of the county is just laughing at you.

Terrye said...

As for strategy...well I guess he just should have assumed that Rush and the rest of them would turn on him and suck to a guy they all hated 6 months ago..after all, it is not as if those critics are all that principled themselves.

Lionhead said...

@Terrye "...[w]e have all these so-called conservatives sucking up to a guy like Gingrich and calling Romney a RINO?"

I'm a Tea Party person and I've expressed I'm not in favor of either candidate, Newt or Mitt. Frankly, I see them as two peas in the same pod. Say, one on the North side, the other on the South.

If you go back & look at my earlier comments, I expressed the need for three parties. Let the conservatives go their own way. Basically, it's a Socialist/Marxist Party (democrats), a Progressive 'Light' Party the Republicans, and the Conservative Party.

The fractionalization of American politics is evolving. No longer will just two parties fit the bill. Moreover, I completely reject the idea of a "winner takes all" mentality of a two party system.

Let each voter find their party, choose their candidate & let the mass of voters decide who should govern. This eliminates the current political class elitism, re-electing the same people for endless terms, picking the lesser of two evils, etc.

Terrye said...

Lionhead..this has been a two party system since the days of the founding fathers..and even John Adams said that partisanship was the greatest threat facing the new Republic..so I don't think there is going to be three parties, and even if there were the same idiots would be out there running their mouths..

For instance..Rush Limbaugh sent an email trashing Romney..the same Romney he loved just three years ago...and of course Rush hates Romneycare, but he shills for the Heritage Foundation every day and they wrote Romneycare..a third party won't change the dynamics that create and sustain this kind of hypocricy. Not at all.

Anonymous said...

Again, Lionhead, you need to change your sobriquet to "Peabrain." Our system DOES NOT WORK WELL WITH THREE PARTIES. Are you suggesting we rewrite the Constitution into a parliamentary system? By the way, I AM NOT A RINO!!! I am also sick and tired of being called a RINO because I like Mitt.

This is Rightspeak correct? Or did I get rerouted over to MittRomneyCentral?

Because over there I would expect to see nothing but positive pieces on Romney. But here at Rightspeak, Bosman developed a website for conservatives to speak their mind.

And in this post, I did not speak my mind, I just posted Rudy's comments from his segment with Hannity last night.

I did not add any comments in the post. None. Nada. Zilch.

So I am not sure what all the whining is about.

It is good for True Blue Romney supporters to know what is being said about Romney so y'all can defend him.

It's also good for Newt supporters as well.

And if my eyes haven't deceived me, I have seen an awful lot of sarcastic, snarky pieces written about Newt on this very website.

So calm down.

And for the record. Romney is in my top three. I may be casting a vote for him. Just like millions of other voters out there in primary land.

But we voters, like to read and listen to ALL information on a candidate. Not just the puff pieces by their supporters.

We make informed decisions. We weigh ALL the information.

Just like I will do in March of 2012.

In the meantime, please don't assume who I am voting for. Because I do not have a dog in the hunt. I am having to settle on a candidate just like millions of others out there in voter land.

It may just be Romney.

You made some interesting points. I have often wondered what the Democrats and GOP would do if the majority of voters registered as Independents. The GOP and Democrats would be in a quandrey as to how to target their platforms to win the elections.

Christine Todd Whitman is promoting a third party called American Elect. American Elect is setup to have primaries in every state. She said that the ticket would consist of a Democrat and a Republican. She mentioned that Jon Huntsman was being considered for a possible presidential contender on this ticket.....I think if the GOP selects a polarizing washington Insider like Gingrich, that a 3rd party moderate ticket could throw the election to the 3rd party. There are alot of unhappy Democrats as well as Republicans and Independents that could be attracted to a ticket like this.

In MN Jesse Ventura was selected because the electorate was disgusted with the political insiders who were on the Deomcratic and Republican ticket. So the Independent picked up a significant number of Democrats and Republicans...It was quite shocking!

I am with you as well. I am fed up with being labeled a RINO by these obnoxious holier than thou conservatives who rip Romney,Mitch Daniels, and Christie but they are more than happy to nominate the most immoral, corrupt, big government, arrogant progressive that Washington has ever seen.

I am fed up with the ABR campaigns to destroy Romney and if Gingrich is nominated,I too will no longer call myself a Republican and I will do some research on the party, that Whitman is starting. As far as I am concerned I would be more than happy to be part of a
NNN-Neuter Newt Now campaign!!

Thanks for the correction.

Lionhead said...

@leighrow Thanks for the information on American Elect. I will check out their ideas. I have come to the realization that the current two party system is becoming unworkable & needs to be supplemented with additional parties. We've always had more than two parties over the course of time including Communist, Libertarian, Bull Moose, etc. Moreover, as you mentioned, there are many folks that feel the same as I do. It would be a breath of fresh air to breath free again. ;)

Lionhead said...

@leighrow Americans Elect is quite a novel idea, however, after reveiwing the Board of Directors, I believe it has an agenda that is not shared by me. Look very carefully at the names & organizations represented.

So, I wish all you 'gladiators' luck as you determine the last man standing in your camp. This might be the outcome.

Texas, thanks for the response. I'm glad Romney is in your top three, because since Huck dropped out it seems the only thing you post or comment is anti-Romney.

I sure hope Newt isn't in your top three. Knowing you, I doubt he is.

I'm sorry Huck didn't run so that you could have voted for him again. At this point, Huck looks pretty good to me compared to most of the others. I'm glad he's toned it down on Romney. Time heals all wounds I guess because I'm not too mad at him anymore.

TC-

Not a bad post at all. My comments are about Rudy's focus against Mitt and in favor of Newt. Clearly he's in the bag for Newt. There's a lot of substance in some of the comments about it being absurd to say Romney has something to explain, but that Newt is just getting "attacked." Absurd.

Anonymous said...

While you are correct about Rightspeak, every single piece you post is a complete and total hit piece on Romney. If he is in your top three, maybe you could manage a post or two that shows SOME balance on Romney. I'm not asking that it all be sweetness and light, just less negative; that's all.

You certainly can POST anything you want, but if it's a completely hit piece on Romney, I won't read it. Sorry.

I agree with Martha, I am a little less angry with Huck than I was, and he's got moral values, something Gingrich lacks entirely.:)
