What's wrong with Rick Perry?

H/T Mark Lowe

Is he on the verge of some kind of Breakdown?

Let me start off by stating that I've never been a Rick Perry fan. Yet after viewing his performances in New Hampshire over the weekend, I'm beginning to feel sorry for him. His demeanor seemed to shift from one event to another. In the interview he did with the New Hampshire Union Leader, he seemed almost unnaturally mellowed out. It reminded me of someone fighting to stay awake:

PRESS desired FEED BUTTON:

In the following speech he gave Friday night in Manchester, NH at a Cornerstone event, his demeanor seemed almost the total opposite. WOUND UP and overly animated to the point of someone on the verge of a giddy attack. The following is a collection of snippets from that speech:

I'm not one for taking things out of context so here is the complete speech. I find it almost as painful to watch as the snippets above:

I believe Perry entered this contest with the idea that it would be a cake walk. His poor performances in the debates, speeches, interviews, and what seems to be a lack of knowledge and depth on many issues are perhaps catching up to him.

I hope I'm wrong on this because although I don't want him to win the nomination because I believe he's not the best candidate we have, I still would not want to watch someone have an extended public meltdown.

I think it id easy to see.... Perry is in way over his head.... he really should have never entered the race.

There was a good discussion about this last night. Besides the thoughts about being high or drunk, which is possible, but more likely (Occum's Razer) it is due to either pain meds or lack of sleep / too much red bull or 5 hour energy. He appears very giddy, sort of how we get when staying up too late.

Definitely, he should not have gotten into the race. He's probably hurt his future political career with the stunts he is pulling this election cycle.

This Perry debacle
is hard to watch. Waiting for the "paddy wagon" to roll up.

I'm doing my part to get rid of him as Texas governor in '14 as well! He needs to go, totally, from politics! He can go back to being a Democrat full time then!

Bizarre behaviors......for WHATEVER the reason.......there is "something" unbalanced or wrong. What are the people around him thinking?? Jindal? Sandoval?

Hand gestures & facial expressions went from flamboyant to effeminate. The guy is either severely bi-polar (or other major emotional disorder), or he's on something serious--major alcohol consumption, prescription meds or illegal stimulation.

I watched this three times last night with my wife. It was seriously difficult to believe. My wife suggest SNL use this material, but I really can't see anything they could improve on.

Yikes! Who is this guy?

I think Americans just don't know sometimes which Rick Perry they're dealing with. Is it the Rick Perry that is on the side of giving speeches while he was drunk before being sober…was it was..before he was not drunk giving speeches, uh, from the standpoint he was standing, uh, for being a tough guy governer before he was for being giddy like a little school when giving speeches…Uh…he's against being high as a kite on the campaign trail and now he's for it…I mean, we'll wait until tomorrow and, and, and wait to see which Rick Perry we're really talking to…

Oh the ego trap people in power fall into! Perry had no clue about his own inadequacies, he just thought he could waltz into this race unprepared and unqualified, hold a prayer rally, and we would all fall in love.

Now he's learning a very painful lesson about his failings, and distorted vision of himself. I would actually really feel sorry for him at this point if it weren't for the outright lying he's engaged in against Romney, and the way he played the anti-Mormon card. As it is, he's getting his just desserts right now.

This is what taking 5 redbulls and 5 5hour drinks all taken at once can do for you. I would love to see perry like this for the next debate
