Some of the pollution numbers should be normalized with other data. I haven't looked at the data in a while, but I'm fairly certain that Texas has the most refining capacity of any state in the nation. I suspect that Texas refines more gasoline than any other state by a large margin. Making our gasoline means releasing some pollution. If the nation didn't have these releases in Texas, we'd either have to have them somewhere else or we'd have to do with less gasoline. Rick Perry can't claim all of the credit for the Texas job situation because he didn't put the refineries there, but I'll also give him a pass on some of the pollution because he didn't put the refineries there.

I hope that this kind of information becomes the backstop for Romney countering Perry's attacks. I can imagine what a side by side comparison would look like. Perry is running a bananna republic. He's got more trouble on his hands than a couple of wild fires.

Great find , Bos. Why is this stuff lying around and the super sleuth media can't find it? Perhaps, it;s because they arn't looking......or maybe they are as dim as Perry

OJ
The Texas Legislative Study Group thinks it is VERY relevant. This is the 8th straight year this report has been published.
This is a terrible litany and Texas legislators are rightfully very concerned. Go look at the 2003 edition by State Senator Shapleigh and see if you think the rends are in the right direction

OJ,

How you you could say these stats are irrelivent is a mystery. Are you that much of conservative goose=stepper, you don't want to learn about a candidate?

That is lame.
