Rasmussen: Perry in decline...Romney on the rise

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely GOP Primary voters shows Perry with 28% support and Romney capturing 24%. Before Perry entered his first debate, the Texan held an eleven point advantage over Romney, 29% to 18%. Perry lost 1 point while Romney gained 6.

Mitt Romney 24% (18)
Newt Gingrich 9% (5)
Michele Bachmann 8% (13)
Herman Cain 7% (6)
Ron Paul 6% (9)
Rick Santorum 3% (1)
Jon Huntsman 2% (1)
Thad McCotter 1% (0)
Undecided 11% (16)
The survey of 1,000 Likely GOP Primary Voters was conducted on September 19, 2011 by Rasmussen Reports. Likely GOP Primary Voters include both Republicans and unaffiliated voters likely to vote in a GOP Primary. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points
