Romney picks up endorsements from key Pawlenty supporters - http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/romney-picks-up-endorsements-from-key-pawlenty-supporters/2011/08/24/gIQALDC8aJ_story.html

So I forget...are we supposed to trust Morris's opinion or is he full of crap?

So far it seems like Romney's strategy of lying low and waiting for the other candidates to implode has worked...if that is his strategy?

He has been blessed with a horrific line up and will coast to the nomination if this is the current line up...and I will admit that if this is the final line up...he is my first choice.

In regards to Palin and Morris's comment...I agree I think she will enter this race but I'm not sure if it will be on Sept. 3rd? I know there are reports and assumptions that she will enter that day but her own people say to not believe any pundits "insider info."

There are also reports that she will make some sort of big announcement on the 3rd...this is coming from the TP guy who runs that organization. If that means she will or won't announce remains to be seen. Some are also saying that her Sept 3rd speech will be a speech that declares her vision for the future of the country...so it might be a warm up speech to set the stage for a mid to late September entry into the race.

Finally, Morris is completely wrong when he says that she should not enter this race. I don't know how much I can stress this. In fact, I cannot believe how many paid pundits are so off base about this. Palin has a following of grassroots supporters that dwarfs all other candidates combined. Their support is contingent upon a Presidential challenge to President Obama. She doesn't have to win but she has to get in the game. If she does not enter the race this go around, then she will be irrelevant as her grassroots support will move somewhere else. If she does not enter the race and a Republican wins the White House, she will have pushed back any Presidential aspirations until 2020...by then she will be completely and totally obsolete.

Run Sarah Run!!!

To add...If Palin doesn't announce her candidacy at her Sept. 3rd speech, I feel, at the bare minimum, there will be enough clues to know for sure...one way or the other...if she will run.

I have the same question as you, JR, regarding Morris' opinion. Do I trust him or is he full of crap? I'm honestly not sure. I thought his early analysis of Romney (back when Huckabee was still a possibility to run) was distorted, but then he was only negative toward him. Now he has said a lot of good things about Romney, and I'm tempted to disavow all of the bad things I said about Morris before.

As soon as Huckabee got out, Morris seemed to change his tune about Romney. I'm glad. I like hearing good things about my guy, but I'm not sure how far I can trust Morris.

Don't get me wrong, I don't expect pundits to only say good things about Romney in order for me to consider them to be fair. I'm fine with them challenging Romney when they see him making a misstep, but I also expect them to challenge all of the candidates in the same way. Criticize when they are in the wrong, acknowledge when they are right. For now, Morris is setting a good tone, and I hope it lasts.

Noelle, Dick Morris is a bright guy but he makes a living making predictions. Sometimes he is right and sometimes he is wrong.

Sometimes he is so wrong that his predictions backfire. When they backfire his ego forces him to back peddle...which he doesn't wear well.

His main concern is selling books. The more he is right, the more books he sells.

Like any pundit...I take their opinion with a grain of salt...like everyone else...if their opinion coincides with mine I take it with a truckload.

Palin will not run, she will endorse Perry.Im not exactly sure if it will boost Perry all the way to the nomination, but I think if Palin doesnt announce, her supporters may or may not follow her endorsement to Perry. They maybe dishearten with Palin not announcing and choose who they wish to support rather than following her endorsement for Perry.

Ha ha. This is not enough for me to move Morris into the credible category. I actually wish he would not talk about Romney.

Jersey, I don't believe Palin has a grassroots support that dwarfs the other candidates combined. If she did, she would be doing much better in polls.

I do believe her supporters are probably more loyal than anyone else's. That's one reason why I think you are also wrong when you say they will go elsewhere if she decides not to run. They are going to love the heck out They are mostly crawl on broken glass types. They will love her no matter what she does.

If she doesn't run, they will find a way to blame it on the MSM, Romney, Perry, Bachmann, etc, and then continue to believe that she could have cleaned Obama's clock.

Another thing. Morris is just jumping on the Romney bandwagon because he's not completely stupid. This doesn't mitigate any rotten thing he's said about Romney in the past.

your right martha, and if she does not run, her supporters will also change her wikipedia to show that she did run and she won the presidency.

I don't know. I think Ron Paul fans are even more loyal than Sarah Palin fans.

I don't think she has much support. If you go to Organize4Palin you have the option to click on your state to find grassroots organization and contacts. Only 3-4 states have any information. The rest say something like no information available. I believe there are a handful of people working for the Palin cause in Ohio but nowhere else.

@Jerseyrepublican. Good point. Can we trust Morris's judgement? I like what I hear him saying but honestly his track record for calling it has me a bit concerned. However, in this interview he is merely stating that Romney is making all the right moves. I don't think there is much risk of him being wrong in that regard.

Palin entering the race could prove interesting to say the least. She would be the most conservative candidate in the race (besides Bachmann)and would likely siphon support from the likes of Perry and Bachmann. It's possible that her entering the race would actually help Romney. So, since I like Romney, I say run Sarah, run.

Noelle, you're right. Ron Paul fans are pretty darn loyal, too.

I don't trust Morris either UNLESS of course I agree with what he's saying. In this case in regards to Romney, UP TO THIS POINT, I do.

Saying that, I'm hoping to see Romney come out first on several solutions in the immediate future like the his jobs bill on Sept 6th.

I disagree with Perry on Palin. I'm hoping she gets in for selfish reasons. Taking the spotlight off of Bush Lite.

I also believe that If Perry were the nominee, Palin would not be considered for his ticket. There would be no Balance. She'd have a better shot of being included on a Romney ticket, and I believe SHE KNOWS IT!

Bosman, I don't see Palin being offered or accepting a VP slot...perhaps secretary of energy or the interior.

In discussing his "stealth" campaign, has anyone mentioned all the townhalls Mitt has done where he takes unscripted questions and answers them extemporaneously? This Fox girl talks like Mitt doesn't tell us what he thinks. Or that he wrote a substantive policy book.

MikeZ - Great point. The Fox News coverage of Romney is pathetic. The questioners sound so inept and ill-informed it's laughable.

Any regular at this site could conduct a better, ,more ionsightful interview, with any guest.

Their quality is sliding downhill.

BTW Juliette Huddy USED to be hot, what the hell happened?
