Romney included on Ames Straw Poll. Perry and Palin are not

The official ballot for the Iowa straw poll will list nine names, including three declared candidates who have decided to not compete in the Aug. 13 event: Mitt Romney, Jon Huntsman and Newt Gingrich.

It will exclude two candidates who are merely flirting with a bid: Rick Perry and Sarah Palin, the Republican Party of Iowa’s state central committee decided today.
The committee talked about reasons to include popular Republicans who have been urged to run but have declared they won’t, such as Chris Christie and Rand Paul. In the end, those Republicans weren’t included.

Neither were many lesser-known declared candidates, such as Gary Johnson, Fred Karger and Buddy Roemer.

If Mitt Romney loses the primary, I'm voting for Buddy Roemer. I have no idea where he stands on any issues, but I love the idea of having a president named Buddy. I can just connect with a guy like that.

:)

I wouldn't want to be on the ballot if I were Palin, Perry or Romney.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ron Paul wins it. In fact, I hope he does.

I bet you do, RWN.

Anon,

A Ron Paul win would be good for Romney too, NO?

Rightwing...you're reflecting...again.

Yeah, I agree with RW. Romney on the ballot doesn't thrill me.

Teledude thinks Pawlenty will win the straw poll. Apparently, he's betting all of his chips on it.

RW, should be interesting. I'm not sure Bachmann can pull it off.

Greta isn't impressed by the money aspect of the straw poll. I agree.

the ron paul hacks will assure a paul victory in the straw poll, but they will be nowhere in sight when the real voting counts

Greta lost any credibility she had. She's now a shill for Sarah Palin, nothing more.

Greta is a Democrat. So is her husband.

She's right though. The Ames Straw Poll is a scam to raise money for the Iowa Republican Party...which is fine, but it shouldn't be given so much credibility.

If Romney wouldn't have broken the bank in '07 to win it, you'd probably agree with me.

How pissed will pawlenty and bachmann be when ron paul wins the straw poll lol

RW, I do agree with you. The Ames straw poll should not be given any credibility. And neither should Iowa, for that matter.

I have a bad taste in my mouth from 08, and this year isn't looking much better.

PS--both democrats, and both in love with Sarah Palin.

RWN, and both kiss the queens ring. In fact, Greta's hubby is the one who set up little ol sarah's pac and 'legal' defense fund. They adore the queen, and follow her around with big puppy dog eyes.

Right Wingnut said...

What? And all this time we've been told that Palin can't attract Dems.

I'll be damned....

Rasmussen has her leading Obama 40-38 among indies without lifting a finger, or spending a dime.

I'll be double damned.
