Bachmann's Courage to Remake Herself

There is a new tv ad out from team Bachman titled Courage:

Trouble is that Bachmann worked for several years as an IRS tax attorney. What were her duties? They sure weren't pro bono work to help struggling tax payers alleviate their tax burdens. She was the only kind of tax attorney the IRS employs, a pit bull that collects outstanding taxes.

This modus operandi is tried and true for Mrs. Bachmann. She has blasted farm subsidies while her own family farm has taken a quarter of a million in subsidies.

Now I am not saying that Bachmann did anything wrong working for the IRS. It may be a job that would leave a moral stink on her in some circles (ahem tea party) , but she was merely enforcing the law. Nothing unethical there. Taking farm subsidies? Well her family was operating withing the bounds of the law, so nothing illegal. Unethical? Well that could be a source for argument, especially for certain folks (ahem ibid) . The problem is that Mrs. Bachmann really doesn't espouse the purist ideology...except when she is in front of a microphone trying to win votes.

Update: In April Bachmann voted for Paul Ryan's budget which would have increased US debt by $6 trillion over a decade. So, today's ad is just one more attempt to remake another portion of her image.

Dan, didn't you get the memo? You're not allowed to call out Bachmann on her record and past statements per OJ and many of your fellow Rombots.

You are still rather funny, RW.

RW, I might have gotten that memo, but without the secret decoder ring I am afraid that I can't make sense of it.

RW, which fellow Rombots?

You can call Michelle out on her record, or on her bizarre behavior til the cows come home for all I care. There's a lot of material.

Unfortunately, Romney will never be able to call Bachmann out on her record, lest he be called a sexist. Similar to how people who question Obama are called racist.

Trust me. It will happen!
