RM-DCNR Poll: Oh No! Mitt Romney least favorite among Liberals and Progressives

I came upon this poll by accident. It was a poll on Obama and his base and I happened to open the crosstabs. The poll was conducted by Greenberg Quinlan Rosner of roughly one-fifth of the attendees at the Netroots Nation 2011 Convention in Minneapolis.
What caught my eye was this:
"80% approval among the convention-goers! All is well! Obama has no problems with his base! Any concerns with the president are largely limited to the "Professional Left"!
These folks are obviously delusional and are very protective of Obama. So after viewing the above, I took a closer look.

Political breakdown of those polled:

Please choose the term that best describes how you think of yourself in political terms

Liberal 42%
Progressive 51%

Moderate 5%
Conservative 0%
Libertarian 0%
Prefer not to say 1%

Now the punchline!

Which of the following people would you LEAST LIKE to see as the Republican nominee for president in 2012?

Mitt Romney 39%
Sarah Palin 14%
Michelle Bachmann 12%
Chris Christie 12%
Tim Pawlenty 7%
Ron Paul 5%
Paul Ryan 4%
Rick Santorum 4%
Newt Gingrich 3%

And who do you believe the GOP will nominate for President?

Mitt Romney 72%
Tim Pawlenty 12%
Michelle Bachmann 8%
Chris Christie 3%
Sarah Palin 2%
Paul Ryan 1%
Rick Santorum 1%
Newt Gingrich 0%
Ron Paul 0%

This can't be right.

They fear Palin the most.

LOL!

Go you blame them?

They know Romney can compete with Obama for Independents.

Whoever wins independents in 2012, wins the White House.

Ha .. great to see! 72% have confidence in our picking the most qualified candidate. I find it amusing that after Mitt they think T-Paw has the next best chance of getting the nomination, but they don't seem to be too concerned if he did (only 7% don't want him running against BO!!) On the other side of the spectrum, they don't think Palin has a snowball's chance in .. of our choosing her (2%!) but they really would be hating life if the Anybody-But-Obama public elected her as commander-in-chief!

This is a great poll. I'm surprised you found it. There was no hint of the findings in the kos article.

They must have known it would make Romney look good.

Of course they fear Romney the most.

It's the ECONOMY! Everything else comes in last.
