Denno Research Poll: Romney Far ahead in Michigan

Support in Michigan for native son Mitt Romney is far ahead of the backing for any other GOP presidential hopefuls, according to a new statewide poll.

The poll was taken after Romney's June 9 visit to Detroit and the June 13 GOP debate in which he made clear his opposition to the federal bailouts of General Motors Corp. and Chrysler LLC, which many credit with saving the automakers and their suppliers.
GOP Nomination:

Mitt Romney 28.7%
Sarah Palin 5.8%
Michele Bachmann 4.5%
Tim Pawlenty 2.8%
Newt Gingrich 1.8%
Thaddeus McCotter 1.7%
Undecided 28%
None 6%

The Presidential primary is looking like it might be over early.

Is MI before or after Romney wins in Florida?

I guess MOST Michiganians are FED UP with the auto unions.

MI is looking like NH in this poll.

Looks like McCotter was slightly off in saying Michiganders would kick Romney to the curb. He he.

Michigan is home territory for Mitt. I expect that he will do well there. Whether he can actually win the state for the Republicans in the general is an unknown, but he will probably have a better shot at it than other Republicans.
