Email from Huckabee leaked - I think he's running

Here is a leaked email from Mike Huckabee to his inner circle:

Tomorrow night (Saturday) I will announce the next step in my plans for 2012 during my show on the Fox News Channel. I would like to be able to call you or email you personally and in advance of the announcement, but due to the fact that the decision was not finalized until today and that I committed to Fox that I will absolutely not release it prior to doing so on the channel, that became impractical.
A lot of information and speculation was already rampant in the press today, and it frankly isn't fair to you to tell you the details and then put you in the awkward position of saying you didn't know (which at that point wouldn't be true) or saying you did know, but couldn't reveal or discuss it.
It was this afternoon before I could even get word to all of my own children and even now, the executive producer of my show and the staff and crew of the show don't know and won't until I actually do the final preparation literally minutes before I share the decision live Saturday night.
I will look forward to speaking with you soon and once I fulfill my sworn obligation to Fox, I will be free to discuss things that I can't now due to promises to them and to some possible legal considerations of the announcement.
Many friends have said, "how can we help you in the decision?" My answer has consistently been, "Pray that I have clarity." I have it and will share it Saturday night during the show. Please be patient if I don't respond immediately to an email because I expect that once I pull the trigger Saturday night, things will get even crazier, as if that's possible.
My heartfelt thanks for your friendship, prayers, and support,
Mike Huckabee

Legal considerations? Things will get even crazier? Does that sound like "not running" to you?

He's running.

Hey John, Who's your choice now?

Never trust those pesky emails!

It doesn't matter who john supports. He's friggen foreigner. He can't vote here anyway.

Really classy, anons...

It certainly does matter who John supports, because even though he's not going to be voting in the election, he certainly has the ability to influence other people and possibly convince them they should vote for his candidate of choice.

gotta love Anons who cant even make up good names like Getreal or Conman or Corep. Get some class people.
Huck was one of two candidates we have who consistently poll close to obama or out poll him. we are down to one now and that is Mitt. I am ok with that but its always good to have someone able to win the game in the bullpen.

Sorry John!

These anons are just happy that Mike is out of the way.

Anyone who thinks Huckabee didn't have a great chance of getting the nomination is kidding themselves.

I feel empty right now. Very empty. In a way I haven't felt since some really horrible things happened when I was younger, things that haunts me still today (not saying this even will haunt me of course, but the feeling is the same).

I'm looking at Tim Pawlenty. Anyone know how to get in touch with his campaign/Iowa team? I'm not sure yet, but he seems like a good second choice.

I am disappointed with Huckabee. Because he didn't run, but also, maybe mostly, because of the way he made us all believe he was going to run with his statements right before this announcement, all the hype...

you know John you really should take a long look at Romney. He's not as bad as some have made him out to be. Tpaw isnt bad either.

just so long as you dont say Trump or Palin then we are good :)

but John, your a damn foreigner, your lovefest with huckabee (probably because your one of them Jesus freaks) is over. He left you heart broken so just leave it alone.

I'm a foreigner, but I can still influence people - more people and in better ways than you can I dare to promise.

I'm proud of being a Jesus freak.

He left me with a feeling of loneliness, that is true. But if the reason really was that he wasn't spiritually sure it's the right thing, I got full respect for that.

Thats not the reason though John, see Huck uses God for his political gain, God has no influence and doesnt involve himself in politics. Huck created (he denies it) the prayforhuckabee website to solicit names and emails of people so that he can hound you for donations to his HuckPac. With huckabee its pray for me, send me money, pray send me more money to my huckapac, pray, support this person, send me more money pray etc. Huckabee is the kind of christian that will stab you in the back. He was a pastor who preached forgiveness, but he cant get over his bitterness towards romney, he preached honesty but has been caught lying many times. Hes a snake, a coward, he glorifies only himself while uses Gods name to promote himself only and thats something hes brainwashed his "Hucks Army" with. Do you support him because hes the best candidate for the job? Did he have the best record? Is he the right one for the country? If your honest with yourself then the answer is no.Hes not running because he has a strategy looking forward, not because God told him no. I believe Hucks strategy could work for him, hes sitting out until 2016. Its his strategy of holding on till 2016 and hoping for obama to win and for things to get worse, thus he will be waiting around when the country is fed up and will turn GOP again. Good luck to you John.

John,
I'm thinking the anons are some of the leftover lefty trolls who jumped on with the birthers a few weeks ago. The term "Jesus freaks" makes me think so...if not I am ashamed if its a Republican posting that crap.

You should probably just take a day or two off from politics and try to think about something else - there is of course more to life and you might feel better.

There's no rush to pick a backup candidate, but Pawlenty is a decent choice. I know you are very unlikely to choose Romney but I still hope that you stay around because I really enjoy reading your posts. It helps lift the average intelligence level around here, which we are going to need with trolls like the anonymous people posting in this thread.

GetReal,

Thanks for those encouraging words. Although, raising the intelligence level here isn't too hard to do with these anons around. Any decent person can do it really.

I will definitely stay around. Yes, I'm unlikely to pick Romney but more likely to pick Pawlenty, or maybe Daniels. I don't really need a candidate because my posts typically don't focus on them. I plan a post on the eurozone crisis, which may very well bring down the US financial system. But I am in the midst of exams, I got three of them coming up next week (tuesday, wednesday, friday). So it may have to wait until late in May, or I'll write it tomorrow and then go back to studying.

John,

The anons are just trying to impress themselves. Don't listen--not worth it.

Please keep posting. Your economic pieces are great!

Thanks hamaca. I'll keep posting, but like I said, I'm in the midst of exams and shouldn't be posting anything at all. I might still tomorrow, on the eurozone crisis. But then I'm back to studying.
