Quote of the Day: Donald Rumsfeld on Palin and the Tea Party Movement

"She's been very effective...she's brought people into the party that have added energy to the party, and I think that's a good thing."

I thought he might pull a Barbara Bush, "shes a pretty lady, shes loves it in Alaska and I think she should stay there"

I always figured Rumsfeld was a good judge of character and ability. Since he likes Sarah, now I know he is. He’s one smart, perceptive, open, and honest guy.

I wonder if he’s also gunning for a job from President Palin?

Bill. LOL> I've met DR many times over (you know, he worked at standing desk, and did not sit to work?) He's very.... what's the word? ... Diplomatic. He's known to keep his true opinions to himself, and not cause ripples where none are needed. I agree, It would be interesting to know what he really thinks, but that won't happen with Sec. Rumsfeld.

I've got to hand it to Palin. She has most every Republican walking on eggshells so as not to offend her fragile fans. That kind of manipulation is truly something to behold.

But not to worry; the long national nightmare is coming to a close. None. too. soon.

I am so fragile Martha. If Palin doesn't run for President I am going to put a gun in my mouth and pull the trigger. The thought of her not running for President is worse than any war in the world. Plus she is so HOT!!! That's the only reason I like her. I usually hate women. Just ask Sparky...er I mean Ellie.

P.S. Good job on the 1 month Palin moratorium. What did it last...two days? You must have gotten so backed up with bile that you had to unleash those Truther loons on us.

Martha,

National nightmare!!! Oh brother...you make her sound like the Plague.

Haha, for liberals and Moderates, she is a Nightmare. For the rest of us, she is part of the American Dream. BTW, the real Nightmare is ObamaCare.

AJR, yes, I really blew it on the one-month pledge. Sorry about that!

I do think, and have since day one, that Palin is an overall negative for the party. She's is just too divisive, self-centered, and reckless. I don't like the idea of our party being identified by her.

PS. C4P people are fragile, I don't think you can deny it.

Martha,

I really have no idea about C4P people. I rarely go to the site and if I do I don't read the comments. Not really a fan of fan sites. It is too much of a echo chamber for my tastes. I have read from many on this site that they are very sensitive and I don't see the point of them attacking Romney about everything. Romney has never said anything negative about Palin and vice versa.

You don't have to apologize to me about the one-month pledge. I must say when you break a pledge..you really break it. :)

A VERY DIPLOMATIC statement:

"Helping to elect Tea Party candidates."

That was true. You notice he didn't say, "Republican" candidates. This could mean that he feels her appeal is limited to the TP?

"Brought energy to the party."

That is also generic. Some would argue "positive" energy others, "negative.

Rumsfeld is known for these types of, 'open to interpretation' statements.
