Sarah Palin may be ready for PRIME TIME, But is she ready to be President?

altI'd like to thank Right Wingnut for this GREAT IDEA! I was inspired by his last Romney is a flip-flopper post. I suppose it's important that all voters be constantly reminded of the supposed flaws of each candidate. Like Romney, Palin has a few negative images that she must overcome as well. One being, NOT SO SMART the other, NOT READY to be President.

Current polls indicate that Palin is the MOST KNOWN of the BIG 4 candidates. They also show that amongst ALL voters, she is the LEAST LIKED. She is also losing ground with many Republicans while others like Mitt Romney are gaining in popularity.

Let us EXPLORE the possible reasons for this calamity:

Let's start with a few of her Quotes:

"[T]hey're in charge of the U.S. Senate so if they want to they can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes that will make life better for Brandon and his family and his classroom." --Sarah Palin, getting the vice president's constitutional role wrong after being asked by a third grader what the vice president does, interview with NBC affiliate KUSA in Colorado. (Watch video clip )

"All of 'em, any of 'em that have been in front of me over all these years." --Sarah Palin, unable to name a single newspaper or magazine she reads, interview with Katie Couric. (Watch video clip )

"Well, let's see. There's ― of course in the great history of America there have been rulings that there's never going to be absolute consensus by every American, and there are those issues, again, like Roe v. Wade, where I believe are best held on a state level and addressed there. So, you know, going through the history of America, there would be others but ―" --Sarah Palin, unable to name a Supreme Court decision she disagreed with other than Roe vs. Wade, interview with Katie Couric. (Watch video clip)

"I think on a national level your Department of Law there in the White House would look at some of the things that we've been charged with and automatically throw them out." --Sarah Palin, referring to a department that does not exist, while attempting to explain why as president she wouldn't be subjected to the same ethics investigations that compelled her to resign as governor of Alaska, ABC News interview, July 7, 2009

''I'll try to find you some and I'll bring them to you.''--Sarah Palin, asked by Katie Couric to cite specific examples of how John McCain has pushed for more regulation in his 26 years in the Senate, CBS News interview, Sept. 24, 2008

''But ultimately what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the healthcare reform that is needed to help shore up our economy.''--Sarah Palin, explaining the $700 billion government bailout of Wall Street to Katie Couric, CBS News interview, Sept. 24, 2008

''They're our next door neighbors and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska.''--Sarah Palin, on her foreign policy insights into Russia, ABC News interview, Sept. 11, 2008

''I'm the mayor, I can do whatever I want until the courts tell me I can't.''--Sarah Palin, as quoted by former City Council Member Nick Carney, after he raised objections about the $50,000 she spent renovating the mayor's office without approval of the city council

I Know, I know, some will argue, this is OLD STUFF. The problem with that is that although OLD STUFF, she uttered most of these quotes as a SITTING ELECTED official. Perhaps it shows a reluctance on her part to:

1. Do her home work
2. Let her brain lead her mouth, other than the other way around

Lets move beyond the past to the more recent. I won't do a C4P hit job here. I'll let Sarah SPEAK FOR HERSELF. After all, there's no better source than the horse's mouth, or should I have said the bear's mouth?

A Given: A President of the United States needs to be quick on their feet, well informed, and not be allowed to be intimidated.

Here is Sarah explaining on NATIONAL TV rumors of Breast implants:

Oooh, How Presidential!

Here is Sarah recently talking about immigration, Ouch!

Here she is giving the National Review Conservative Summit(CSU) Speech:

Here she is at the Orange County Lincoln Day Dinner:

alt
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4

Well, there you have it. There were several other sources I could have cited, however perhaps this is enough to make my point. Maybe we don't need a PART 2 unless I'm inspired again.

Judge for yourself. I personally think Sarah has a future in tv. But is Sarah Palin Ready to be President? I'll let you answer that. She would be very handy to have around on your next fishing trip. DA YA THINK?

YUKKY!

I was wondering how long it would take for you to respond to RW. Exactly 90 minutes. I would comment but I'm really not in the mood for the back and forth gotcha stuff. RW upset you so now you need to upset him and other Palin supporters. Whatever floats your boat.

Great Post.

Using Palin's OWN WORDS and actions to prove she is not Presidential material.

Ouch!

AJR. Well, since this is Bosman's site, I guess he can have a little fun if he wants to.

She is certainly more ready than the current occupant and she certainly has better judgement than most Republicans.

BTW, Larry, you did not prove anything. Nice try.

AJR,

Perhaps Bosman is just responding to a mis-representing of facts of one potential 2012 candidate with what many feel are either truths or mis-representations of another candidate.

OhioJOE said...

Yes, Martha, he is free to have all the fun in the world, but we too will have fun on election Day.

"Perhaps Bosman is just responding to a mis-representing of facts of one potential 2012 candidate with what many feel are either truths or mis-representations of another candidate." Haha, oh yeah like the way you guys misrepresent the school bus.

Yeh, Right!

How did you feel about RWN's 2 posts?
Warm & fuzzy?

Palin is not Presidential.

The world has a negative oppinion of us now thanks to Obama. The last thing we need is a soap opera star as POTUS.

We need someone who is Presidential and has the right experience to lead.

Romney & DeMint in 2012!

carlo, I don't really care what anyone posts. The problem with this one though, is that it is vindictive and childish and shows nothing. It's basically pointless. At least with one of RW's posts you can debate his premise and what Romney meant. This one is just vindictive, filled with half-quotes and old news.

I just don't understand why the head of a CONSERVATIVE site would bother playing tit for tat with one of HIS contributors. He might as well just take away RW's posting privileges or delete his posts...either choice would be equally, if not more, mature as this post.

I think this site should be renamed - www.youbetterrightspeakaboutromney.com

JR,

I don't delete comments.

So either it's still here, You're hallucinating, or you're FOS!

Anonymous said...

Whoa, BOSMAN...maybe you didn't delete it and someone else did? Why would I lie about having a post deleted?

BOSMAN said...

JR,

I am the only person with the ability to delete. I've only deleted 2 comments since RS began.

One on request of RWN, the other someone attacking Palin's family.

THAT'S IT!

So I repeat, Your comment was not deleted.

Bos, then maybe there was a glitch or something...I saw my comment posted, then when I went back later...it was not there. I'll take you for your word and not mention it again.

Have you thought about my idea to rename the site -

www.betterrightspeakaboutromney.com?

RWN might have put it on another thread thinking it was on this one. Just a thought of what might have happened.

Another one of my comments is gone. I am one hundred percent sure that this comment was posted. I think you might have a glitch...or someone else does have access.

BOSMAN, you said "Palin has a few negative images that she must overcome." I assume one of them is the image you used at the top of this article. It's a doozie.

Closer, it's immensely more flattering than the following image of Willard.

Sad day when it boils down to who had the worst bad hair day.

Right Wingnut,

You're kidding right.

That picture of Romney is sexy. He should have more photos of himself around like that.

RWN,

Here are some of my favorite Sarah moments:

This is one of my favorite of Sarah trying her hand a gurning.

Here Sarah is caught rolling her eyes.

Noelle said...

RWN, do you know the story behind that picture of Romney's bad hair day? It is just another example of the kind of man that he is. http://mittromneycentral.com/2010/08/25/must-see-mitt-romney-doing-bad-hair-and-blue-jeans-in-2007/

Mitt Romney is not just a politician, he is not just a business man. He is a compassionate human being. Thanks for the picture reminding us all what real service is.

Right Wingnut said...

Noelle, I do know. I was responding to an idiotic comment about Palin's picture. But you guys always seem to miss that.

I try not to jump into the gutter and compare idiotic comments about various candidates.

Excellent and informative post.

It's hard to argue with direct quotes and videos.

GetReal said...

All this tells me is that Sarah Palin is not a great extemporaneous speaker and perhaps isn't well versed in law, which doesn't surprise me because she doesn't have a background in law.

I don't think this post was a good idea, although I can understand why you did it with RW's silly Romney bash-fest and new anti-Romney blog.

RockyTFS said...

I can only imagine the field day the Dems would have if Palin was our nominee.

No way.

They'd have a bigger field day with Mr. Romney.

Yeah, ha ha, but seriously, no they would not.

Knowing Bosman and his tendency NOT to shy away from a fight, the accusations of him deleting comments are as absurd as they are juvenille.

This site was founded because Bos was turned off by the deleting and banning at ROS. To suggest he would resort to the same behavior, shows a true lack of perspective and respect.

Johan "Mcon" said...

I have to agree with Doug here.

Anonymous said...

Doug and Johan von Mcon...by suggesting I am showing a true lack of perspective and respect by questioning why my comments are gone shows me that you must believe, as Bosman does, that I am a liar?

Where is the perspective and respect on your part?

You're right, I did first think it was deleted...Bosman told me he did not delete my comment so I took him at his word...BUT the fact is that 2 of my comments disappeared after they were posted...he assured me he didn't delete them. But something obviously happened to them...be it a glitch in the system or someone else does have access to the delete button...perhaps unbeknownst to him.

Doug & Johan,

I resent you insinuating that my brother is a liar. My brother is the most honest person that I know and if he says that his posts disappeared, then they disappeared.

Like jersey said, maybe there is a glitch or someone other than Bossman has access that he doesn't know about. If Bossman says that he didn't do it then I also take him at his word.

Doug, you have known my brother for a while on here, Race and ROS, so you should definitely know better. Maybe you should show him the same respect that you say Bossman deserves.

Doug NYC GOP said...

Jr & AJR,

I read my comment again...several times and for the life of me I don't see any reference, allusion or indication I was calling anyone a liar.

I do know JR for sometime now and with all due respect, I know his tendency to get his engine going from 0 to 60 in a few seconds, when his emotions are revved up. I can get the same way.

This wouldn't be the first time a misconception or assumptions occured on this website (not just by JR btw) due to a glitch, failing to read the full text of a statement or missing a comment entirely.

This situation today is a good example. My only point was, if you know Bosman and his history, deleting posted comments would not be his style. To suggest otherwise is absurd and lacking in perspective and respect. From that we had to leap to me calling people liars.

Really?

I know I'd need a lot more to go before I made insuations like that.

In The Know said...

JR,

If you google, "blogger+comments disappearing", you will find others having this issue. It's a glitch with internet Explorer.

If you are using IE, that may have been the culprit. Try using Flock or Firefox until they clear up the glitch.

Anonymous said...

ITK, I use Safari.

Doug, you didn't call me a liar...you insinuated it. If you had read further, you would have realized that I took Bosman for his word. But the fact remains that 2 of my comments are now gone...both within a ten minute span of each other and both within ten minutes after posting them. Whatever the cause...it's annoying. Also, nobody else's comments were accidentally missing so it seems pretty odd that it all of a sudden...out of the blue happened to me. I suspect that someone other than Bosman, has access to the delete button...they might have figured out his password...I'm sure it's romneyspeak or something and they deleted my comments...but like I said no matter how it happened...it's annoying.

jerseyrepublican

Right Wingnut said...

I don't think Bosman would delete comments, or many of mine would have been zapped. At the same time, I consider JR to be a man of his word. If he says his comments disappeared, I have no reason to believe otherwise. It must be a technical glich.

By the way, as a contributer, I have no ability to delete comments, and I doubt the other contributers do either. In fact, Bosman thought that I could. A few months ago, an anon (probably Ellie) posted some Trig truther crap. Bosman told me to just delete it. After explaining that I didn't have the ability to do that, he researched it, and concluded that he was the only one who could be set up with that ability.
