Palin on Justice with Judge Jeanine

This was Palin's first televised interview with Judge Jeanine. They had taped one previously, but since it was supposed to air on the night of the Tuscon tragedy, it was preempted. Unlike Bill O'Reilly, Judge Jeanine asks a question, and allows plenty of time for an answer without interrupting. What a refreshing change. They covered a lot of ground in 15 minutes. Topics included:

*The Wisconsin budget battle. She reiterated her support for Gov. Walker, and suggested that the absent lawmakers should be recalled.

*Federal budget battle. She expressed concern that some who ran for office under the tea party banner may be caving.

*Foreign aid. She's not in favor of continuing foreign aid to regimes that would seek to harm America. She believes we should continue foreign aid to Israel.

*Mexican President, Calderone's chastising of our immigration policies.

*The two airmen that were shot in Germany this week, and the Obama Administration's reluctance to call it a terrorist attack. State Department Spokesperson, P.J. Crowley went as far as to draw comparisons to Rep. Giffords being shot. Last time I checked, Loughner didn't yell "Allah Akbar" while pulling the trigger.

*Rising oil prices. This topic,of course, is right in her wheelhouse. Why would we support an energy policy that allows us to "be at the mercy of foreign regimes that would seek our demise."

*Libya. She reiterated her support for a no-fly zone over Libya. Some of you may recall that she was ridiculed by many for suggesting, almost from day one, that we consider a no-fly zone. Many have echoed her sentiments, including the Obama Administration, in the past week.

*Egypt and Iran were also discussed briefly.

Hi RWN
I watched Sarah on Judge Jeannine . Pretty good performance although I disagree with her on several points that I think are not thought through. Like her comment about Libya. Sarah and John McCain don't seem to understand that America, $14 T in debt and a lot of that due to two wars and Cost Plus contracts in the DOD, cannot remotely afford to start yet another war. Doesn't she understand that a no fly zone has to be imposed by an attack on Libya ? Doesn't she understand that more folks would die to keep oil flowing to Europe ?
But, overall, she needs to do more of these spots. Unfortunately, the vast majority of interviewers would be like BOR and NOT like Judge Jeannine

CraigS, I have not watched the interview yet but when Palin originally called for the No-Fly Zone, she called on NATO, or the UN, to action...which would we be a shared-cost endeavor.

JR, That is correct.

Here’s to Libya’s Freedom

It’s a little perplexing looking at the White House today. There was a statement on the horrible earthquake in New Zealand, and certainly our hearts go out to all those affected by this horrible natural disaster. But nothing on the slaughter in Libya? The protests in many places in the Middle East affect regimes that have cooperated with the U.S. on issues from peace with Israel, fighting al Qaeda, hosting our military forces, or cooperating against Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Gaddafi’s Libya is different. For four decades, this tyrant has held power. Gaddafi was Osama before Osama hit the scene. He ordered the bombing of a disco in Germany to kill Americans. When he paid the price for that – after President Reagan rightly ordered retaliation – he directed his agents to blow up Pan Am Flight 103. They did, and more than 250 innocent people died. Gaddafi tried to come in from the cold in 2003 – scared by the demonstration effect of Iraq. But we should have no illusions. Gaddafi is a brutal killer and Libya – not to mention the world – would be better off if he were out of power. Now is the time to speak out. Speak out for the long-suffering Libyan people. Speak out for the victims of Gaddafi’s terror. NATO and our allies should look at establishing a no-fly zone so Libyan air forces cannot continue slaughtering the Libyan people. We should not be afraid of freedom, especially when it comes to people suffering under a brutal enemy of America. Here’s to freedom from Gaddafi for the people of Libya.

Hi Guys
A shared cost effort is a U.S funded effort. That is just "poli-speak" often used by the U.N to mask its U.S funded programs. Theorestically, the U.N. itself is a " Shared Cost " effort......so why do we pay the majority of the rent for 150 + countries? We can't afford another dime for yet another war...period . What a crazy paradigm. How about a no fly zone over....Egypt or Tunisia or Bahrain or Jordan or Riyadh or Tehran......the list goes on and on. More money borrowed from the Chinese or from the SS trust fund to pay for totally bogus efforts to either prop up dictators like Mubarek or to depose dictators like Quadaffi.
It's long past the time to get smart and stop letting politicians point us at more economic quicksand that they have no intention of walking into with us

Craig, a no-fly zone is not a war and you know that...nor is it a war effort. We already have forces and equipment in the region that could be used in both a naval and air force capacity...when and if, Libya broke the no-fly zone...to bomb its own people.

Due to Libya's location on the Mediterranean, other NATO forces could easily and strategically join in on enforcing the no-fly zone...probably with little US involvement.

Craig, I can't say I disagree with everything you said, but I think it's a bit more complicated than that. If we weren't dependent on these dictators for oil, we would have more flexibility. In addition, Quadaffi needs to be sent to Gitmo and tried for war crimes.

Are you suggesting that we let him slaughter hundreds of thousands of his own people if it comes to that?

Also, you're speaking about the UN...not NATO. Sure the US probably funds the majority of NATO but not to the political ramifications that we do the UN.

BTW, I think that's the key to Palin's argument...NATO...not UN. It shows an understanding of our beneficial commitments on the world stage.

RWN
I am suggesting we can no longer police the world. There are lots of ugly guys out there....as there always have been and always will be. I saw Rumsfeld meeting with Saddam. I see $ 30 billion being given to Mubarek. I saw billions given to the Shah in Iran to provide funds to his secret police, Savak. I saw money going to thugs all over the world, by the U.S. Now , I see the U.S having to borrow maney from China to get rid of our former friends.
Let's get serious. I am tired of sending amateurs to Washington who are totally clueless about economics and the world. Let's take one example.
1. The United States gave Egypt over $ 30 billion over 30 + years to prop up Mubarek as a force for " stability " in thge Middle East.
2. Mubarek skimmed billions of this money into his private bank accounts in Zurich and we know how much he pocketed.
3. Mubarek is now in Sharm el Shek, relaxing on his yacht and counting his U.S extorted bank accounts.
4. Over the last several years, much of what was sent to Egypt was borrowed, at 3 % from China through T- Bill auctions.
5. We sent the money to keep Mubarek in control, because the alternative, The Moslem Brotherhood , was a distasteful alternative.
6. Mubarek recycled much of this money into acquiring U.S weapons thereby cycling U.S taxes into the corporated coffers of U.S Defense contractors. Other large sums were spent on U.S " Think Tanks" staffed by ex- congressmen who voted to send the money initially.
7. Much of the funding was used to by Chinese military equipment, thereby returning the funding back to the source.......less the interest on the total, which we now owe the Chinese.
This goes on regardless of party control. That is how we have become Dead Broke....while the market on Wall Street goes up

Craig, I agree with what you just wrote, and it appears that Sarah does as well. Mubarek's foreign aid spans the terms of many US presidents. Quadaffi is a separate issue. He should be tried as a war criminal for Pan Am 103, and probably other incidents as well.

I thought it was a decent interview.

Although, How sh will hold up in interviews once she leaves the protection of the Fox Network, remains to be seen.

If she's getting the questions up front, that will end.

Hey phil, watch ter Long Island Q&A...Palin did not have the questions up front...65 minutes worth of questions and answers.
