If the 2012 presidential preference primary were held today, most Moore County Republicans would opt for Mitt Romney.
The former Massachusetts governor soared to the top Saturday in a straw vote taken during the Moore County Republican Convention. Receiving a sprinkling of votes were Mike Huckabee, Newt Gingrich, Sarah Palin and Chris Christie.
......About 200 attended the convention held in Owens Auditorium on the campus of Sandhills Community College.

Romney coming in first in NC is good. Even if it is only a straw poll of 200 NC Republican insiders.
A win in NC with Republican activists is a positive for Romney.
