Gallup Poll: 2012er preferences based on Fox News viewership

Results for this Gallup poll are based on telephone interviews conducted Feb. 18-20, 2011, on the Gallup Daily tracking survey, with a random sample of 1,326 Republicans and Republican-leaning independents, aged 18 and older, living in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia, selected using random-digit-dial sampling.
For results based on the total sample of Republicans, one can say with 95% confidence that the maximum margin of sampling error is ±3 percentage points.
For results based on the total sample of 550 Republicans who are regular Fox News viewers (watch evening shows on the network four or five nights a week) one can say with 95% confidence that the maximum margin of sampling error is ±5 percentage points.

It doesn't look as if Romney's absence from Fox News, lost him any popularity.

Just think of what Romney's numbers might have been if he had been a regular brought on, similar to the Gingrich type of appearances.

I guess not being a regular on Fox, hurt Romney with it's viewers.

I guess not being a regular on Fox, didn't hurt Romney with it's viewers

To me, it appears the occasional viewers are the smartest ones. That's the main take away from this poll, IMO.

Wait a second guys...

You rombots have always said the reason why Romney has dropped in the polls is that he isn't a regular on Fox news and so doesn't get very much attention. Now it turns out his numbers among fox and non-fox viewers are virtually identical. How do you explain this? Are you going to go with the "PPP is conspiring against us" again?

Another case of wanting their cake and eating it too. Most Romneyites spend more time trashing Fox News and Tea Partiers than they do trashing Mr. Obama and the Dems. Then they tell us 'why look, Mitt is almost as popular as the others among Fox viewers and Tea Partiers.' You gotta love the entertainment.

John,

What it means is that if ROMNEY HAD HAD A REGULAR GIG THERE, he would be way ahead of the others and not just tied for top spot.

"What it means is that if ROMNEY HAD HAD A REGULAR GIG THERE, he would be way ahead of the others and not just tied for top spot." Ah no, he'd be way behind because, the people would actually know what kind of shenanigans he is up to.
