Romney, Palin, Huckabee, or ???

altH/T hamaca and JohnG

Now that I've got your attention, here is the Question?

Considering ALL the Presidential hopefuls, WHO BRINGS MORE TO THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT?

Think in terms of:
  • Experience (RELEVANT)
  • Intellect
  • Knowledge of the Issues
  • Ability to Lead
  • Ability to follow through
  • Ability to make tough decisions
  • Judgment
  • Commitment to conservative ideals
  • Ability to beat President Obama in the general election
If anyone thinks I've left an Important Characteristic/Quality out, feel free to come up with your own. I'm sure your fellow commenters will let you know if they agree.

Now's your chance to tell us all why you like YOUR CANDIDATE. Who knows, maybe you can sway a few people from theirs over to yours!

OK, I'll bight. Of the big three you mentioned, I think that Huck has the best chance to beat Obama. And that pains me immensely to say because thoughts of a Huck presidency causes my blood pressure to go up 30 points or so.

"Commitment to conservative ideals."

It also pains me exceedingly to say this, but that isn't Romney. Whenever someone like Adam Graham or Alex Knepper accused Romney of not having a core, it made me see red. It really makes me nauseous now to say that they were probably right. I have become exremely disillusioned about Romney and his lack of ability to stay committed to any principle.

Mitch Daniels is my answer to "WHO BRINGS MORE TO THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT?"

I sure hope he runs.

But these opinions are all probably moot because I strongly believe that no republican will beat Obama in 2012.

Romney is the answer to all of the above. His core is the conviction that we can and must solve our problems....regardless of what or who stands in the way.

His entire life has been dedicated to making things better, and he's been successful in virtually every attempt he's made in doing so.

In the private sector, he bought companies from people who knew more about their companies than anyone else and were desperate to sell them.

He then paid more than anyone else was willing to, and found ways to not only make them profitable, but wildly so.

He generated annual ROI for himself and his investors of more than 100% for 18 consecutive years. In the beginning he was managing $36 Million. Today, the company he founded is managing tens of billions of dollars.

In short, he has more ability to solve complex problems than anyone else in the candidate field, and is probably the only guy in the country who can get us out of this mess.

I also agree that Romney gets all checks.

What is missing is family values. Another check for Romney. Just look at Ann, his 5 sons and their families.

Bosman,

I wonder if you had someone in mind, when you came up with those qualities?

Relevant experience: Considering the current economic environment, Romney wins this one hands down.

Intellect: It it hard to know each person's intellect, but based on his history of success, I have to give this one to Romney also. I do not intend to diminish the intellect of the others, but no one else has Romney's record of consistent success.

Knowledge of the issues: After reading No Apology, I am very certain that Romney has as extensive a grasp on the important issues of the day as anyone. He certainly knows a lot more than I do.

Ability to lead: I think all of the three candidates mentioned by name have demonstrated an impressive ability to lead to one degree or another, but as a follower, I find the one whose path is most inviting is Romney.

Ability to follow through: I find that Palin is at something of a disadvantage in this category because of her leaving her position as governor of Alaska. She may have had some great reasons, but it is a black mark certainly. I see no definite advantage, however, between Romney and Huckabee in this category.

Ability to make tough decisions: All leaders have had to make tough decisions, and some of them are good, and some of them are not so good. I'm not sure I can give a clear advantage to any one candidate, although as Romney is my chosen candidate I will say that h has certainly demonstrated an ability to make tough decisions. More so than the others? That I can't say.

Judgment: In this category I have to give the clear advantage to Romney. Huckabee's history of clemency has demonstrated to me a lack of judgment. Palin's constant bickering with the media demonstrates to me a lack of judgment. Romney has probably made some less than perfect decisions, but all in all I think his judgment has proven to be sound.

Commitment to conservative ideals: In this category I think that both Romney and Palin are very strong. Huckabee less so.

Ability to beat Obama in the general: I think this is a close one but the edge has to go to Romney with Huckabee in a close second place. Palin is in a distant 3rd place in my opinion.
