Why can't he turn over the Government to a top General. Who is willing to work with the U.S. to help set up immediate elections?

I can't see it any other way. To let the chips fall on their own, is only asking for trouble.

This is a dangerous situation and we have a rank amateur in the Oval Office "handling" it? Obama really is Carter the Second. If we lose Egypt to the Muslim Brotherhood, the entire Middle East will go up in flames. As much as I dislike Mubarak, he is still better that the Dictatorship that the Muslim Brotherhood would put in place.

Hopefully the Egyptian Military can assume temporary control of the government until Free and Fair Elections can take place.
