Suspected Gunman in Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords shooting posted pre-shooting videos

Jared Lee Loughner the suspected shooter of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, had a series of 5 bizarre videos that were posted within the past 2 months on youtube

Judging from the content of these videos, the man is either certifiable, or has taken steps to convince those who view these videos that he is. You decide:

Giffords expressed similar concern, even before the shooting. In an interview after her office was vandalized, she referred to the animosity against her by conservatives, including Sarah Palin's decision to list Giffords' seat as one of the top "targets" in the midterm elections.

"For example, we're on Sarah Palin's targeted list, but the thing is, that the way that she has it depicted has the crosshairs of a gun sight over our district. When people do that, they have to realize that there are consequences to that action," Giffords said in an interview with MSNBC.

Anon,

Whoever you are, you are a pathetic human being simply trying to use this tragedy to score political points. At least put a name on your trash next time.

Well said RW, these are the same jokers that not only want Mrs. Palin and Trig dead, but they were the ones who vandalized Mr. Cantor's office and threatened Mr. Stupak before he supported the Health care Bill. I have heard this story before, There is a Liberal lady one county over from mine who wants Trig dead, but whines whenever a Democrat is verbally questioned.

This is a prime example of what happens when far right meets far left and rolls into crazy. This guy is off the charts.

I'm sorry, last night I posted that bit from the CBS news article quoting Gifford on being in Palin's cross-hairs. I thought it was just unreal, actually.

OF COURSE Palin is not responsible for this tragedy, but her crosshairs/reload rhetoric IS irresponsible, and many people have thought so for a long time. Now it coming back to bite her, and is being used against her, and against conservatives - all of us. If you don't think so, you are naive. There are many people like her doing the same thing, and they aren;t doing us any favors.

Enough reload nonsense!

I didn't sign my name, but it was not intentional. I'm not afraid to own my opinions.

OJ, Its hard to believe anyone wants Palin or Trig dead. I've never seen the negative Trig comments that Palin alludes to all the time. I think they are mostly fantasy.

Trig is the cutest little guy around.

Oh my, Palin was not the only one. Giffords tea party opponent Jesse Kelly also used terrible campaign rhetoric against her.

"Get on Target for Victory in November Help remove Gabrielle Giffords from office Shoot a fully automatic M16 with Jesse Kelly"

That is just stunningly bad form.

No, Martha you ARE trying to score political points. Otherwise, WHAT IS YOUR POINT? You admitted that Palin is not responsible, yet you keep bringing it up!

Already, people are pointing fingers at Sarah Palin and her "target map" for fostering the tragedy in Arizona—but Howard Kurtz says military terminology has been part of politics for ages.

Actually, I think he may have been getting his cues from Obama..

“I think it’s tempting not to negotiate with hostage takers, unless the hostage gets harmed. In this case the hostage is the American people and I was not willing to see them get harmed,” Obama on keeping taxes from increasing, December 6, 2010

“A Republican majority in Congress would mean “hand-to-hand combat” on Capitol Hill for the next two years, threatening policies Democrats have enacted to stabilize the economy,” Obama, October 6, 2010

“If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun,” Obama in July 2008

“Here’s the problem: It’s almost like they’ve got — they’ve got a bomb strapped to them and they’ve got their hand on the trigger. You don’t want them to blow up. But you’ve got to kind of talk them, ease that finger off the trigger.” Obama on banks, March 2009

“I want you to argue with them and get in their face!” Barack Obama, September 2008

“We’re gonna punish our enemies and we’re gonna reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us.” Obama to Latinos, October 2010

“I don’t want to quell anger. I think people are right to be angry! I’m angry!” Obama on ACORN Mobs, March 2010

“We talk to these folks… so I know whose ass to kick.“ Obama on the private sector, June 2010

"Methinks the Wingnut lady doth protests too much." Ah, no it is you on the Moderate side who either tries to paint the Peaceful Tea Party as violent or you passively allow the liberal rhetoric to go unanswered. You Moderate disgust me and you not us are partly responsible for the mess we are in and yet you take advantage of this tragedy. GO BACK TO RACE!

If folks on our side join in on the "pigpile" or fail to speak up, it will be the downfall of the GOP. In other words, chalk up another 4 years for Barack Obama.

This kid is pathetic!

I think you're on to something Bos. He only had these videos up for brief 2 months, to perhaps help create a plea of insanity.

I've seen enough examples of past crosshair/target/battle quotes and analogies in the past several hours from people of multiple political persuasions, including Obama, to be of the opinion that not only are attempts to assign blame on Sarah wrong, but exceptionally hypocritical.

Hamaca,

Thanks for being a voice of reason.

By the way, the criminal complaint is now posted. Some evidence obtained from the shooter's safe indicates ha may have planning this since 2007.

Still nothing to show a connection to the tea party, Palin, etc.

The blowback on the left will be HUGE.

RWN - I'm sorry you don't get my point.

It's the left that is scoring political points on this, and Sarah Palin helps them a heck of a lot with her irresponsible rhetoric. She makes it so easy.

Look at everything she does -it's always accusations and name-calling and "reload".

Of course both sides do it. The left would have tried to paint this as a right-wing problem even if Palin or Kelly did not do what they did. But they made it a lot easier, and in the end, it hurts our side.

Let's hope they become more circumspect after this.

"Sarah Palin helps them a heck of a lot with her irresponsible rhetoric." Martha, to be blunt that is a rather shameful thing to say especially in view of the fact that this guy had it in for the Congresswoman long before Mrs. Palin became a national figure. Further, Mrs. Palin has been one of the most responsible figures on the Conservative side by bring up important issue. Frankly, if we cannot stand up to these bullies, we as a nation deserve at least 4 more years of Mr. Obama, if not more.
